After years of trying, the Alpha King must have an heir—no matter what it took. He didn’t have emotions. All he knew was to fight battles and to expand his boundary. So kidnaping Moonlit was no big deal for him…
Moonlit: The Beautiful Outsider As an outsider in the Royal clan, all I wanted to do was belong. I was willing to do anything to prove myself and my worth. A tournament with a tempting prize reeled me in. This was my chance and I won. Before I celebrate my happiness, I learned that I was stabbed in the back. I didn’t win but put my life in jeopardy. He wanted me for something else, to be the Royal surrogate! The traditional way an heir would be brought about made me blush. Cloud wouldn’t take no for an answer, like I could say it anyway. When he was close, the Alpha King made my body scream with desire. I tried not to fall for the king, my enemy, but I didn’t know how to stop.
Cloud: The Alpha King My mate was fated to me, the title of king was given to me at a young age. I had everything and… I should be happy. The one thing I didn’t have though, was the one thing I needed, an heir. I had to have one to secure my clan’s future. I needed a strong woman to carry my heir, one that I could keep close. The tournament brought out the best the clan had to offer, Moonlit winning it all. She had my attention, and soon after, she had my love. My clan could never accept her or the truth. My wolf doesn’t care who she is or where she came from. My inner beast just wants her. I had to make her mine and I would go against anyone to have her. I can give her love, make her my mate, marry her, but she wants more than that.
Will the Alpha King be able to save his love from those in his clan who fear the change she brings? What will happen when he gets to know her real intentions? Will Moonlit be able to kill the Royal King when he has her heart?
This was a brilliant book and I loved the different points of view. Cloud is the Alpha King and a wolf shifter who was given a mate Mia but she is sick and cannot give him a heir that his clan wants. So it’s decided that he use a surrogate and he has chosen the feisty and strong outsider Moonlit who enters into the tournament for a chance at getting a home inside the walls and she is excited and all goes well and she wins but it’s not all that it seems and soon she finds out. Moonlit is an outsider to the royal clan and is strong and independent and when a tournament is being held she decides to enters and with her luck she win but it’s not what it seems and it isn’t long before she finds out the real reason and it’s to be a surrogate for the Alpha King Cloud who needs and wants and heir and she was chosen and she cannot say no and the shocker is that it must be done the old fashioned way and the longer they are together his wolf wants her forever and he will do anything to make it happen and falling in love is just a start. How does it all turn out for everyone involved and do they get there HEA or not.
Moonlit is chosen by Alpha Cloud and his wife/mate Mia as a surrogate because Mia can’t carry a baby. Mia and Cloud are best friends who care about each other and have a nice, comfortable marriage that way. Mia has more going on than she is willing to share with Cloud and is the reason she has pushed for him to have a baby with the woman they choose. Cloud never expected to feel a connection like he has with Moonlit and never thought he would develop feelings for her, fall for her. I thought the mate pairing process was interesting. I thought Cloud didn’t try hard enough at anything until he found out what Moonlit was doing in secret. I did not like that Moonlit’s friends on both sides of the wall mostly disappeared from the story—Jesse is important in the beginning and then is just gone. I did think the story felt a little disjointed. . I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
After years of trying, Cloud, the Alpha King is required to have an heir. So kidnapping Moonlit was no big deal for him. Moonlit is tricked into a situation so they could capture her and force her to be the Royal surrogate.
Cloud had been given a mate and the title of king at a young age. He was lacking only an heir. A strong woman to keep close and carry his heir was needed. Setting up a fake tournament, the best of the clan was lured in and Moonlit won it all, even his love. His wolf wants her. The clan would never accept her. Will she accept what he can give?
A quick fun read. Action, suspense and romance rolled into one story. A clan divided between the royals and the out wallers. A war that took place hundreds of years ago caused the division. What events need to happen to unite the clan? Will a forbidden love be the answer? Can the two factions learn to accept each other and become an united clan? A barren Queen and an out waller set everything into motion. The King needs an heir but gets more than he bargained for. Does he have the will and strength to make the changes that are needed when he is thwarted by his father every step of the way? Recommend. Received an ARC and this is my voluntary honest review.
This was a fast paced story, that you really wanted more at the end. I enjoyed how Moonlit and Cloud were able to find some common ground, but I felt bad for Mia. Enemies to lovers, and a kind of love that a reincarnation of their past selves, still searching for each other, and a harmony/peace of their people that made you believe that "love will find a way". On to the next! #HappyReading ♥
The author has given us a wonderful story that pulls us into the lives of Cloud and Moonlit and does not let go. Cloud must produce an heir and wants Moonlit to be his surrogate. However, things do not go exactly to plan.

When he saw her he knew she was meant to be his. So when she makes him let her participate in the tournament she goes white with glee, but what if the price is more than living inside the wall in a house on the hill?
What happens when he realises that he wants her and not his wife? What will happen if he enforces equality? Will a rebellion rise up?
This reminds me a little of Romeo and Juliet. Moonlit and Cloud couldn’t be more different. There seems so little hope for the two main characters who are drawn together under very unusual circumstances.
Don't you just love fated love!!! This story had an interesting twist with the surrogate. I love that Cloud grew to understand and care about Moonlit's people, and then did something about it. I know I really enjoyed this book and think you will to.
Moonlight 🌕💡 wanted the out outsiders to live inside the wall or have the wall taken down. Cloud ☁ wanted to marry the woman 🚺 he loves. The Council and Seer and his father all have different views.
Book 2 in this series was as good as the first one!
Wow! Cloud and Moonlit's story was another story that I couldn't put down! Alicia Banks is an awesome writer and I will be looking for more that I haven't read.
Cloud, the Alpha Wolf king and his queen Maia cannot have children together. They commonly decide to find a woman to act as surrogate because an heir is not only needed, but expected as well. However, the woman selected must meet certain criteria. A tournament is organized between females only in order to complete the selection. The only problem is that the old king practices segregation between conquered and conquerors. True to herself, this author approaches two subjects that are so current with a masterfully written story that explores the raw emotions, battles, and backstabbing aspects commonly seen in such situations. The book is a pleasure to read and the plot is very well-conceived. Twists and turns make this book a page-turner deserving a rating of 5 Stars.
