It's hard to write enough superlatives about this series! I just love it! Each book is marvelous! The characters are great, the settings are fantastic, and the storylines are involving! These retired Navy SEALS are such good men! Even with their injuries, they are ready for action in helping out those who find themselves in jeopardy! This time it's Dawson's turn! He's gone to Montana to check up on his father after being in the military for 20 years. His father is on the family ranch and on the neighboring ranch lives Sylvie. When Dawson is out riding his horse, he hears a gunshot and races to find the location only to find Sylvie hanging on the edge of a cliff! She was thrown from her horse upon hearing the gunshot! After that, a number of things happen that let them know someone is after Sylvie, so Dawson sticks close to her in order to discover who is doing these things. There is a lot of action and I loved the K-9, once again! These dogs add so much to these stories! Dawson and Sylvie were a great couple!

Super continuation of a Christian action series
Sylvie is riding when a shot fired spooks her horse and sets her clinging to the edge of a cliff. Dawson is riding nearby and helps pull her up. This is the start of a totally action packed Western Christian suspense story. There are many possible suspects and twists and turns that keep you guessing throughout the whole story.
The pace is breakneck and the tone is uncertain yet hopeful with a character and action oriented storyline that has some kisses but no steam. The characters are vibrant and kickass. Sylvie is a woman trying to make it in a man's world and succeeding very well. According to Dawson the Navy is better at accepting strong women that ranchers/cowboys in the West. Who do they think settled the West, men only? I am sure the women worked just as hard! I loved that the Christian ideals were woven into the story and didn't seem just added in. This is a story that can be read in its own, or you can read these all in order. Either way, expect action and Christian ideals intertwined. If that sounds good to you, sit back and enjoy!

A shot was fired and Sylvie was thrown from her horse, sliding towards the edge if a cliff. Dawson was riding along and saw her hanging onto a tree root. He pulled her up and over , saving her. Rancher, SEAL, K9, suspense
This is a Christian romantic suspense book set in a ranching community. It has a lot of suspense and enjoyable characters, although I found Silvie annoying some of the time. I get that she's fiercely independent, but she should have been more sensible sometimes. It is an entertaining story with a happy ending! I will definitely read more in this series.

Another great mystery/romance.
Christy Barritt always comes through with so much unique and suspenseful mystery, with nail biting "oh just kiss her" drawn out romance every time. I don't know how she comes up with new and exciting stories, but she does every single time!

Well done story
I liked the characters in this story and how the plot developed and kept you guessing on who was behind everything. I would have liked to see his buddy get there sooner to see them work together, but I did enjoy the story.

I love this series by Laura Scott. Her cast of characters are not one dimensional & very realistic. It is so refreshing to read a mystery/thriller that does not contain filthy or irreverent language, whose characters have flaws they work constantly to overcome. I also love that even though it has a Christian bent, this story is truly edge of your seat exciting with just the right amount of very realistic passion. No unrealistic goody two shoes or one dimensional characters here. I will always seek out this author's books for exciting, clean & meaningful reads.
