Living quietly never worked for Curly Jack and Brodie Dent! When they are needed they’re ready!
Eleven years back Deputy Marshal Brodie Dent had worked a kidnapping case and one of the kidnappers shot off his left hand, well, almost all, he still has the thumb and most of the palm. A friend of his has designed claws that fit his arm and he can do nearly everything with them. Although according to his wife, the kidnapped victim, she is not so sure that he can do most everything. Today, Wade, their adopted son, arrives home with a letter from Curly Jack Sentell, telling him to catch the train and meet him in Woodward the first week in August. Well, seeing that it took a while for the letter to get to Brodie, it meant that he would have to leave the next day. After a little kidding around, he told Wade that he could go too.
Brodie figured that he needed an escort back to the ranch after delivering a herd to the north. When he does that, many of the men want to take some time to cut up a little before heading back to work, leaving Curly Jack with lots of money but no one really to protect it. Curly Jack had been the Marshal that Brodie had worked with until Curly decided to retire to ranching life, but they had become best friends also. During their time together they had helped a lot of troubled people and taken down lots of bad guys, and things have not changed much since then. Whenever someone needed help, they would be there to see to it.

What did I like? This is book two of the Brodie Dent adventures and I enjoyed this one as much as I did the first one. Mike sure knows how to put the special touch on a storyline and make it come alive.
What will you like? Action, emotional, outlaws, traitorous hands, murder, kidnapping, robbery, train excitement, new adventures, and lots of unique characters. Mike spins a tale that will capture your heart and your attention as his descriptions and details work their magic on the plot of this new adventure in the Brodie Dent series. The characters are rambunctious, unique, and downright gritty. There are ones you love and then there are ones that you love to hate. Each with a special spin to make them very unique. The plot of this book flourishes with numerous details and descriptions keeping the reader right in the middle of the current events.
