As a powerful hedgewitch and psychic, there isn’t much I can’t work to my advantage and finesse with a spell. Love, fortune, and even the perfect cup of coffee are all possible with the snap of my fingers.
But some things are utterly beyond my control.
Like the powerful and broody warlock who’s been a part of my life for as long as I can remember—and even the lifetimes I often can’t. Things almost as dangerous as Lucien Bergeron’s hold on me and the breathtaking smiles only I get to see.
Or the evil still stalking the streets of New Orleans that beckons to me to see. To feel. To die.
With everything riding on a razors-edge, and things that have been portended coming to fruition, threatening both me and those I love, I’m not sure if I’m strong enough to resist my fate. Or his charm.
If I work with Lucien, it could mean the end for both of us.
If I don’t, those I love most will pay.
Serendipity
My sight is a gift and also a curse. It cost me the love of my life. We may have been young, but some things you don’t get over. Like being the cause of the biggest tragedy of your boyfriend’s life. It’s something I’ll never forget, and a reflection of who I am.
But now that Jackson’s back in town, with scars and a hero’s badge of honor, it’s time for me to be brave, too.
A malevolent evil hell-bent on making my sisters and me pay for rebuffing him is still stalking my family, and some ancient writings portended that the six were the only ones who could defeat him.
Jackson Pruitt and I round out that magical number, which means I have to face the evil and the things Jack makes me feel, to save my family and my city.
I never sought to reconnect with Jack. Working with him now means opening myself up to my feelings for him.
Refusing means destruction for us all.

The Bayou Magic series is a perfect trilogy to read during spooky season!
Great cast of characters & beautiful soul mate romances. Lots of dark & twisty suspense, with a whole lotta magic. Perfectly creepy, edge of your seat, heart pounding story. Highly recommend.

Shadows - 3.5 stars - Read 20 to 22 October
I should love this book but I struggled to be honest. I’m a big fan of the instalove and yet I didn’t love the insta in this book. I felt like there was very little chemistry between the main characters and I wasn’t entirely invested. Then we had the villain, wow, like I’m okay with violence but this just seemed gratuitous. I really didn’t understand why it was so violent, it’s a PNR for goodness sake not American Psycho.
I think it’s what made this such a hard book to like!
Spells - 2.5 stars - Read 23 to 26 October
Well if I thought the violence in book one was gratuitous it was nothing on this and the reason for it made even less sense then in the first book. I mean I get that the villain is insane and evil but I didn’t at all joy being inside his head and having to go from there to a reincarnated love story was just unpleasant. Maybe they did have chemistry and their love story wasn’t confusing given they’ve known each other so long but I was too busy being skeeved out by the torture and murder of all the men.
I want to read the last book because I don’t like to leave things unfinished but I’m not sure I have the stomach for it. I don’t mind overt violence when that’s what I’m in the mood for (see American Psycho) but I just wanted witches in New Orleans!

What a delightful trilogy with soulmates coming together to defeat EVIL. There is love, Lots of magic, dark evil torturous scenes, sweet times, scary very times, and fun banter! Kristen Proby writes easy to read with relatable times and places stories. The writing is crisp, detailed, and while dark at times, there is fun. Great paranormal read. I will reread in the future as I did so enjoy Bayou Magic.

O.M.G. If you don’t mind reading how a serial killer murdered his victims, you will be rewarded with an enthralling series. I was immediately pulled into the story, and became enamored with the three sisters with preternatural gifts. Unfortunately, they have been plagued practically from birth with a great evil. Find out what it will take to confront their greatest fears, and find out if they all survive this malevolent force.

The Bayou Magic series is a paranormal series about three sisters that find love while fighting a serial killer that targets all three. This story had romance, suspense and was a great thrilling read/listen.
Samantha Brentmoor and Lee Samuels perform this series in dual narration and give great performances as the three sisters and their love interests. Jason Clarke does a great job bringing to life the villain in this story.

These books follow 3 sisters in their daily lives throughout New Orleans. There's romance, spells, paranormal happenings, and murders (very brutal). The sisters use their magical talents to try to rid the city of the evil murderer.
"Shadows" was definitely my favorite of the 3, but they are all worth listening to or reading

i loved this collection. it is full of magic and witches! I enjoyed how each story is connected to the other. The three sisters are unique characters that made the stories entertaining to read. This is a must read collection for sure!

Perfect mix of romance and suspense. 3 sisters each with their own HEA are all tied together by one EVIL serial killer. Oh and these sisters are also witches and it's set in New Orleans. What's not to love!
