Winter Harbor Heroes #2

The Asshole Heir

Rate this book
Mending fences with my brothers as I uncover family secrets is easy compared to winning back the woman carrying my baby…

Six months ago she ghosted me.

She stopped taking my calls and didn’t even answer her damn door.

Now, with my world upside down and my arm in a cast, where do I find her, but Winter Harbor, seven months pregnant with my baby.

Despite her keeping this secret from me, I want her. I’ve always wanted her. And even though I was dead-set on never having kids, given my own garbage dad, seeing Amaya pregnant and knowing that the baby is mine changes everything. I’m ready to right my father’s wrongs and be there for my kid.

I want the family life, and I want it with Amaya.

But she’s not convinced. And for good reason. Now I just have to prove to her that taking a chance on love–and building a family with a man who’s ruined more romances than started them–is a risk worth taking.

***This is the second book of the Winter Harbor series which features a quirky small town, secrets galore, and three estranged brothers who find the key to healing comes from the women who steal their hearts.

A Canadian West Coast baby born and raised, Whitley is married to her high school sweetheart and together they have two beautiful daughters and a fluffy dog. She spends her days making food that gets thrown on the floor, vacuuming Cheerios out from under the couch and making sure that the dog food doesn't end up in the air conditioner. But when the kids are at school and it's not quite wine o'clock, Whitley sits down, avoids the pile of laundry on the couch, and writes.

A lover of all things decadent; wine, cheese, chocolate and spicy erotic romance, Whitley brings the humorous side of sex, the ridiculous side of relationships and the suspense of everyday life into her stories. With single dads, firefighters, Navy SEALs, mommy wars, body issues, threesomes, bondage and role-playing, Whitley’s books have all the funny and fabulously filthy words you could hope for.

5 Star Review of The Asshole Heir (Winter Harbor #2) by Whitley Cox & Ember Leigh

Book two in the Winter Harbor series was a good addition. It was entertaining with characters whose story you cannot help but quickly become invested in.
Carson Winter’s has returned to Winter Harbor, not knowing that the woman who turned his life upside down months ago is now living there. Imagine his shock when he realizes that the heavily pregnant woman is having his baby.
I love stories set in small towns and I could easily imagine myself in Winter Harbor. I thoroughly enjoyed this second chance at love story for Carson and Abaya. Can Carson convince her that a relationship is worth the risk? As Carson tries to convince her e is also trying to mend his relationship with his brothers> Will it all become too much?
As secrets are revealed with it bring them together or tear them apart? The story flowed well and I have no idea which author wrote what or where one finished and the other took over.
I am looking forward to the next book in the series and learning more of the family’s secrets.

Welcome back to Winter Harbor where the Winter men are still trying to find their way. This is Carson and Amaya's story. It began on a dating app so many months ago and soon turned into so much more then she stopped taking his calls and ghosted him. Now Carson is trying to forget the woman that made his heart race while rebuilding the old homestead with his estranged brothers. Needless to say, he has been more than a bear since Amaya walked out on him, but surprises come in many forms and packages.
Amaya realizes that Carson may be too much like her father and decides that it is best to cut loose before she becomes even more attached to him, but she may have left the relationship with a parting gift. She needs someone that is levelheaded not someone to fly off the handle at the drop of a hat. She is not ready to back down from what she feels is no less than what she deserves.
Image the shock and surprise when Carson sees his ex-walking down the streets of Winter Harbor arm in arm with another man and oh so very pregnant. This is about to get very interesting!
This couple is sweet, emotional, has so much chemistry but the loose ends need to be tied up before they can even think of moving forward! Can Carson reform his hothead ways to win back the woman that may be his futire?

Carson and his brothers are just about pulling together to follow the terms of their estranged father's will. One trip into the town that hates them suddenly throws his world even more off kilter - walking down the road is the woman who ghosted him several months ago and it looks like she has something to tell him....
A great second book where we find neither Carson nor Amaya are perfect and the difficulties they face trying to make a relationship work while one can't be away overnight and the other has plans to leave in a couple of weeks. There's a lot more discovered about the Winters family, progress in Callum and Harlow's lives and a glimpse into Colton's background too.
I really didn't want the book to end, and definitely looking forward to the next. Highly recommend and to me it's worth every one of the 5* I give it.

The last place Carson ever thought he would see the woman who had ghosted him for the past seven months just happens to be in Winter Harbor. The exact place he has to stay for the next year in order to gain his inheritance. But while seeing Amaya is unexpected, her being seven months pregnant was never in his thoughts. With his relationships with his brothers on the mend, can he also forgive Amaya for not telling him about the pregnancy? And with the Daddy issues Amaya has can she open her heart to a HEA with the man who swore he never wanted a family? The reader will instantly fall in love with Carson and Amaya and only want them to succeed while they want the pages to go quicker to get more of them but at the same time want the pages to go slower so they can enjoy the ride. Simply a wonderful tale of family and forgiveness.

This is the second book in the series. Amaya and Carson had me gobbling up the pages. Carson does fit the title of this book, but he really surprised me a lot. I love the man he becomes. Hos world is turned upside down when he learns about the bun in the oven and Amaya coming back in his life. Carson has big swoon game. There is still the intriguing mystery about this family as well. I really love the Winter brothers and how they are mending their relationship. A bit of a roller coaster ride for the characters, but the end and epilogue make it all worth the journey. I also loved the set up for the next book. I have a feeling it's going to be oh so good!

Wow. This book was addictive even if I wanted to smack Amaya most of time. I couldn't put book down once started.

I liked Carson and Amaya together, they bump into each other in Winter Harbour after months from last time they see each other. They really make a great couple, but it takes them a while because of trust.

I can't wait for more.

I've been waiting for this book since I read The End in the previous book from this series.
Seriously, I was so into the first book, that I wished I had the entire series available to devour.
But I wasn't that lucky so I had to wait. And wait. And wait.
Whitley Cox and Ember Leigh are amazing writing alone, but when they get together... Lord have mercy.
Their writing completes each other and will make you devour their stories in a sec.
Trust me.
The Asshole Heir is their latest release and it's the second book from the Winter Harbor series.
One piece of advice, even though this book is standalone, I want you to read the first book first and then, only then, grab this one.
This new book explores the lives of Carson and Amaya.
These two had a fling going on until she ghosted him.
Carson never thought he would see her again until he finds her in Winter Harbor...
A town where he was obligated to be because of his dad's last will...
Small world right?
But what he wasn't expecting was to see her pregnant.
Now, what will he do? Run, or grab her with both hands?
I couldn't be happier for having the chance to read this book.
This series started perfectly and this new book just came to reinforce my love for their writing.
Spectacular plot, well written, super engaging, and sometimes frustrating.
But don't take this the wrong way.
It was frustrating because I wanted to get inside the book and shake these two...
Seriously? He's stubborn, as a mule, and infuriating some times, without talking about being a hothead... Jeez.
And she's super insecure, but she has very good reasons for being like that.
Their chemistry is off the charts and the sexual tension between the two... Oh lord...
The story progressed smoothly, with a few bumps on the road.
I loved the push and pull, and loved, even more, the chance to read more about the other characters from the previous book.
It's not easy to overcome all the negativity that we wear like a second skin, but for love... For love, we'll do everything.
The hot stuff... Oh boy, I lived it, as well as the tender moments.
Loved everything and when I looked at the clock it was so freaking late... But ask me if I care...
Lived every single thing and I can't wait to read the next book from this series.
Great book Whitley and Ember. You guys nailed it once again.

Carson has just become my favorite of favorites, book boyfriend!! I wasn't immediately on board with Amaya, though. She really pulled one of the worst relationship faux pas of all time and Carson was understandably hurt, angry, and completely flummoxed when he sees her walking down the streets of Winter Harbor, arm-in-arm with another man and so very, very pregnant! She did not handle that meeting at all well, and at that point I could not understand her total fear of permanent relationships. It was only as these two extremely talented authors revealed her backstory bit-by-bit that I was able to empathize with her and started rooting for Carson to reassure her about his commitment to both her and the baby. I was a little bummed in the way that her issues were to be able to be resolved in her mind, though. I really wanted her to come to the realization on her own, through the strength of her and Carson's love for each other, and that in this particular aspect the authors reverted to a quick fix.

Carson may be my new favorite book boyfriend, but he had his own deep-seated issues that he had to overcome before he achieved that title. His determination and dedication to controlling his anger issues should be a self-help guide for all those men out there IRL, and they should be required to read this book as part of their anger management class before being allowed to "graduate" from said class! Carson discovered that it takes a strong will to not want to let anger control his life before he could start the first steps to becoming, as he referred to himself, Carson 2.0 and even 3.0 as he told Amaya.

I really, really liked Callum and Harlow's story in the first book, The Bastard Heir, but I frickin' LOVE Carson and Amaya's story! I can't wait to find out if Colton's story will make me reevaluate book-boyfriend status once again, lol!

P.S. I am dying to know what lies behind the Hobbit door and where on earth is the second key hidden that maybe(?) will let the brothers in and discover just what their father and grandfather felt was so important that it had to be hidden away the way it is?!?

Thank you, Whitley Cox and Ember Leigh, for another fantastic reading experience! I love it when you collaborate and produce such great books!

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

Following the death of their estranged father, Carson Winters and his brothers Callum and Colton relocated to the small town of Winter Harbor, Oregon in order to claim their inheritance. Per the terms of the will, they must spend a full year living together at the family estate, which they're in the process of renovating. Carson's on his way to the local hardware store one day when he unexpectedly runs into his ex, Amaya Peterson, who'd broken his heart when she ghosted him about six months earlier. Now visibly pregnant, Amaya is in town to care for her great aunt, who recently broke her hip. Carson is stunned to learn that the baby is his and that Amaya cut off contact with him because his anger issues were starting to remind her of her own father. Besides, Carson had expressed in no uncertain terms that he never wanted kids. Even though she has no expectations of him, she gives him the opportunity to be involved in their child's life, but makes it clear that her own heart is off limits. Determined to do better than his neglectful father and be there for his child, Carson quickly comes to realize that he wants nothing more than to create a family with Amaya. Can he convince her that he's changed for the better and she should take a chance on him?

This book gave me all the feels, and I loved it even more than the first one of the series! Carson and Amaya's chemistry and feelings for each other were as strong as ever when they met again after six months apart, but they were understandably hesitant with each other and needed time to rebuild the trust in their relationship. They had to fight to be together, but that just made their eventual HEA all the sweeter. I loved seeing Carson's obvious commitment to doing better even before Amaya came back into his life. His efforts paid off not only in his relationship with Amaya, but also in his relationships with Callum and Colton. While their father's methods were unorthodox, forcing them to live together for the year might actually be exactly what they needed to find their way back to each other.

I highly recommend this book for all fans of angsty/emotional contemporary romance and can't wait for the next book in the series.

Great read. Asshole Heir takes up right where book 1 of the series, Bastard Heir, leaves off with Carson’s story. (BTW - I HIGHLY recommend reading book 1 first - it will make for a much better reading experience). The authors have given us another outstanding storyline full of fun, frustrations and flirty romance.

Carson is the middle Winter’s brother who has a bit of a hot headed streak in him. Something that often lands him in trouble with family and friends. Is that why the woman he was falling for several months ago, Amaya, ghosted him, leaving him mystified and heartbroken? If anything, her pulling a disappearing act with no explanation, has caused his demeanor to worsen. But what happens when he sees her walking the streets of the small town he now calls home, Winter Harbor, on the arm of another man and very pregnant? Will he finally get his answers? Will he finally be able to move on as she apparently has?

Great read. I laughed, signed, and found myself rooting for a happy ending. Grab this book up (and book 1 if you haven’t read it) and enjoy. You won’t regret it.

2 Thumbs Up and 5 Stars

Such a great emotional packed read.

Let me start with Amaya has major daddy issues after her dad left her and her mum after cheating for years.
Carson has anger issues after being abandoned as a very young boy along with his brothers, his mom dies and his dad ships the 3 brothers to boarding school, Carson is picked on for being dyslexic and so anger fuels him until he’s bitter.

Amaya is heavily pregnant and bumps into her ex Carson who she ghosted before realising she’s pregnant, she did the unthinkable and didn’t tell Carson about the baby so he’s clearly upset and angry, Amaya reacts to his anger by running and avoiding but they have a pull towards each other that’s off the charts.
Lack of communication causes more dramas between the two of them and just when you think it’s over they pull together again.
Real life is never easy but eventually they seem to realise they are stronger together than apart.
A sweet HEA ending and premise of his brothers dramas to follow in the next book.

Carson oh Carson. He thought he found his one, through a dating app no less, but just as things are getting serious for him his one has disappeared. Amaya, has issues with trust, she feels things for Carson so she lumps him in with all the other bad experiences in her life and disappeared into the night. But not alone.
Seven months later and the two are reunited in the most awkward fashion. Her fears have come true, but who can blame a guy for losing his cool when the girl he was just getting over shows up in town with a baby belly and on the arm of another man.

Absolutely amazing!

I love Carson and Amaya's story so much. They both have so much emotional baggage to deal with but they are so good together. Carson is working hard to change and be there for his family and his relationships with Callum and Colton are improving. Another fantastic story in this series and I can't wait to get to Colton's story!

This is the second book in the series. It is a well written with amazing characters. It’ll captivate you from the beginning. It has drama, chemistry- great chemistry - and steam. It definitely was a good read that I enjoyed every word of it. Summer may be over but put this in your TBR pile. I cannot wait for the next book.

This book had me captivated from the very first chapter and drawn to Carson like a moth to a flame. The chemistry between Amaya and Carson is absolutely electric and radiates through every word. This second chance romance is filled with secrets, suspense, drama and just enough chaos to have you on the edge of your seat. As these two fight pasts that have them putting up defenses at every turn adding to the weight on their shoulders, it will have you holding your breath unsure if these two will get a HEA after all. It is filled with passion, heat and some off the charts steam but it intertwines perfectly with deeper emotions and scars that need to be nurtured and healed. As pieces of the Winter puzzle unfold very slowly, you are kept on the edge as little by little we see deeper into the background of these characters. Amaya and Carson will steal your heart and his little nickname for his unborn child will have your heart melting. A beautiful romance filled with a little intrigue and mystery to have you holding your breath waiting on Colton's story.

The brothers are finally making it work to fulfill the terms of their fathers will. Carson and Amaya have the difficulties of trying to have a relationship with Carson not being able to be away overnight and her have to leave in a short time. Neither one of them has a perfect track record when it comes to relationships. We learn more Winters family secrets and more about the brothers themselves. I think they are starting to mend and hopefully will continue building those relationships amongst themselves. Ready for Book 3.

First of all, I really love this title & that alone would make me crave this book LOL! Luckily, the story was as great as the title despite the flaws of our hero & heroine, and they had a few. Amaya & Carson actually meet through a dating app, and it's instantly apparent they're perfect together. The sparks are flying, and things turn out sexy. However, Amaya has serious trust issues so she ghosts him completely, and he wasn't sure what the hell happened. Oh, and then there was the party favor that he found out about by accident, so let the good times roll. Look, I've always had mixed feelings about secret babies because it's hard for me to get my head around someone who doesn't want to tell the other person about their creation unless it's warranted, but in this instance, it wasn't but luckily we got a story done right with this controversial topic, however it was emotional. Anyone who follows my reviews knows I usually side with the heroines, but here & there I do side with the hero, and this is one of those times. Of course it's an emotional read, and made me anxiety ridden as Amaya was definitely a flight risk, so to see if these two actually got past some things to actually become a family, you'll have to hit those one click buttons as I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Too much annoying back and forth between love interest couple

Amaya was a whiney little insecure woman who couldn't make up her. I liked Carson better. He could have had a better love interest.

If you want an emotionally packed romance story, then this is the one for you - Carson may come across as being an AH but believe me, underneath that tough, angry exterior is a No 1, swoon-worthy book boyfriend. The second book in the Winter Harbor story is as captivating, if not more so than the first one.

The Winter Boys are doing everything they can to compile with the stipulation in their father's will that they had to go to Winter's harbor and live in their run-down grandfather's home for 12 months, it is more complicated as the boys also have a curfew - this family is completed, all the boys were shipped off to boarding school when they were very young, each have their own reason's for hating their father and they are all dealing with deep-rooted issues from their youth, non more so than Carson, who's temper sometimes gets the better of him, when he was ghosted by Amaya, months ago before he moved to the Harbor he was devastated, but now she is here in Winter Harbor, and all the old feelings come tumbling back, but why did she ghost him and why did she keep a secret from him. Amaya comes face to face with the one man she isn't ready to see again, Carson - she knows it was wrong to ghost him and she never really has gotten over him, now these two worlds are about to collide, and both will have to deal with their emotional upbringings to finally move forward and decided if they can have a future together.

I was so impressed with the breadth of this storyline, it was beautifully written and the connection and the chemistry between Amaya and Carson were perfect, the mystery surrounding why the town doesn't like the Winters is a great addition to the series.

I for one, can't wait for the next brother and the next twist in Winter Harbor.

The Winter Harbor Heros are three brothers who were called to the small town, which they found out was named after their family, to find out their father had left them rich in businesses and properties in the small town. But with a big caveat: first, the brothers must live together every night for one year. They dislike one another almost as much as they hate their father who sent them off as two, four, and six-year-olds to European boarding schools after their mother died. The first book centered on Callum as the three worked with Harlow, the estate attorney, found out the town hated them but not why, and decided to move into the dilapidated century-old mansion that their grandparents had last occupied and work to restore it.

This second book is a couple of months into their stay, when the middle brother, Carson, unexpectedly meets the woman he fell in love with when he lived in Portland. Amaya ghosted him! She is seven months pregnant and holding the arm of a tall man! He figures either that baby is his or she was cheating on him, too! Carson is challenged to work with Amaya, work on version two-point-oh of himself with temper control, and make friends with the town as they figure out who their mother was. Plenty of passion, chaos, and determination in this episode. It closes with Harlow holding Amaya's baby girl as Lily Summers visits the mansion and we find youngest brother Colton has big issues with her already, while big brother Callum is working with her organizing demonstrations against a development company trying to steal their land! Very entertaining reading leaving the reader anticipating the last installment.

I received this book in exchange for a review:

Omg Id give this 100 stars!
Carson and Amaya's story truly has all the feels... so much back and forth in their story but I absolutely loved it!

Carson, the middle brother with dark hair and blue eyes, is definitely known for being an asshole to not only his estranged brothers, but to others in his life as well. That didn't mean he meant to be an asshole, its just how he grew up and how he reacted towards certain triggers. His dad sent the 3 brothers off to boarding school, separate mind you, after their mother passed away. He didn't know love the way a little boy should. Let that little tid bit fester in your thoughts as you read their story 😊

Amaya is the only (redheaded) child in her family and she is best friends with her mother as her father was MIA after she turned 17. She doesn't trust men for good reason and runs when she starts feeling more in her relationships, its what she saw with her parents and thought that happens with all relationships... she didn't know any better.

These 2 were 2 peas in a pod with daddy issues for sure... but when they meet for a one night stand and it turns into more, Carson gets ghosted and is heartbroken.

Hes still on his asshole tendencies how many months later when his dad passes away and the brothers have to abide by the will rules and stay at Hope Creek Manor for 365 days straight to get their inheritance. Strange rule but he and his brothers are making amends... then a certain redhead comes down the sidewalk and back into his life whether he wants her to or not... well, her and a large baby bump that is!!

Gah I loved their story!! Cant wait for the Rebel Heir!!

Having not had a chance to read the Bastard Heir (the first in the Winter Harbor series), I didn't know what to expect from The Asshole Heir but I know I love Whitley Cox so I knew I was in good hands! The Asshole Heir did not disappoint and I'll be catching up on the first book soon! This book is a standalone and I loved it!

Carson's absent father just died and left he and his estranged brothers a mansion and an unexpected fortune but he also left them with strict instructions on how to collect. The brothers have to spend 365 consecutive nights in the mansion. It's daddy dearest way of trying to right the wrongs of a lifetime of neglect from beyond the grave. Despite plenty of drama in getting to know your all-grown-up brothers, they're working on building a relationship out of all that angst.

It's hard though, a lifetime of resentment and anger burns in Carson. The only person he actually wanted to see recently ghosted him and the rage he feels is practically explosive. But all of a sudden, she's standing in front of him, carrying his future baby and Carson's life is up-ended. He and Amaya were supposed to be a one-night hook-up but fate had other plans. Is this the start of a real family?

I really enjoyed this story and appreciated how much (all of the) characters matured throughout. Carson and Amaya were great together, even though Amaya frustrated me. They were sexy and silly and willing to do the hard work to create their family. I loved the brothers and can't wait to figure out all the family secrets! Looking forward to spending more time in Winter Harbor!

5 🌟 Enemies to lovers, second chance, surprise baby with memorable journey to self improvement

Despite the title, this was a heart warming book where I was cheering for both Carson and Amaya and then wanting to shake them in frustration. I really got sucked into this story and enjoyed every minute.

She ghosted him. He doesn’t know why but he hate-loves her still. And then she shows up in his little town pregnant? WTF. He and his brothers are just finding themselves, starting to have that relationship they should have had growing up. Their father’s will is forcing them to live together, to get to know each other, for 365 consecutive days. So far it is all going well until his Ex, Amaya shows up.
Amaya is in town with her cousin to help her aunt after hip replacement surgery. It is giving her some breathing room with all that is changing in her life. Having just finished her degree, starting her dream job shortly and finding out she is pregnant by her Ex, Carson. Who knew she would literally run into him in this small town of Winter Haven. She does need to tell him, but she worries this will trigger his anger.

He has anger issues and she doesn’t communicate or attempt to discuss issues/concerns. Both trigger each other, but their passion is overwhelming. How they resolve this is a great journey in watching how love pushes you to be better than yourself because you care. Not sure Hot Yoga would be my first choice, but it sure makes a funny scene.
Giving this 5 stars was easy.

I loved everything about this emotional yet entertaining read and for me it certainly ticked all my boxes. Once again we find ourselves catching up with the Winter brothers and this time around it’s Carson and Amaya’s second chance at love and their story is the perfect addition to what looks like a hit series for Whitley Cox and Ember Leigh.
Carson like his brothers finds himself in Winter Harbor for the next year, if he wants to collect his inheritance he can’t spend a night away from the town where everybody seems to hate them. But there is one person he didn’t expect to see again and he is totally shocked when he comes across a seven month pregnant Amaya. So while building bridges with his brothers can he also forgive Anaya for not telling him about her pregnancy…..you will need to one click to find that out.
I was captivated by this couples journey, from the first page to the last line I knew I was reading something very special, a journey that will stay with me long after the final word was read. I fell hard and fast for Carson and I adored Amaya but what took this book to another level was the family love and loyalty the Winter brothers share even when they don’t always get along. To me the town and the residents felt real and that added an additional depth to this wonderful tale.

Wonderful story.
Loved reading another of Winter brothers second chance story & once I started reading Amaya & Carson's story I
had to force myself to take a break otherwise I'd have read it in one go. There story was emotional at times, after leaving him with no explanation months ago she never expected to see him again in Winter Harbour whilst looking after her Aunt & she also didn't intend him finding out she was pregnant after what he'd told her about how he feels about family when they were together. The chemistry is still there between them they wanted to be together but they both kept almost destroying any chance of them being together because they were too scared to commit both afraid they will not be good enough for each other. He was determined to make himself a better man than his father was & to show Amaya that he had changed & I wanted her to give him a chance getting annoyed that she didn't & kept running away from him but he also wasn't helping the situation not understanding how her father had made her feel insecure. I was desperately hoping they could find their way back to each other but each time they came close something would always set them back I wanted a happy ever after for the little fox.
I did need a tissue at times so definitely recommend keeping one at hand whilst reading their story & I can't wait to read Colton's book.

Carson & Amaya

They each had daddy issues for different reasons. The three brothers had been sent away to be raised in boarding schools at very young ages when their mother died. Now as adults, their father passed leaving a large inheritance--if the three estranged brothers could live in the grandparent's old mansion together for a full 365 days. No exceptions.

Carson's biggest problem was his short fuse and serious temper. The fact that the woman he fell for, something he never saw happening, ghosted him, did nothing to improve the issue. He hadn't gotten over her when he saw her in their small-now-home-town with another man and a blooming belly. Even though it turned out to be his child that she hadn't told him didn't make it much easier. He still had strong feelings for her.

She had her reasons for "ghosting" him. Could he deal with his temper? Could she deal with her trust and daddy problems? Were their feelings for each other enough to overcome and find a way to be a family?

I liked the characters, however, the conflict was a little much for me. More conversation could have made a difference. Would they find their dream of a family? Or would they let their past ruin their future?

This second chance romance is the second book on the Winter Harbour series.

Carson has returned to Winter Harbour with his estranged brothers per his fathers wills request. The more rime the brothers spend together and the closer they start to become but for Carson it's not easy he has a lot of angry emotions to work through so when he spots the girl that's ghosted him for the last few months he doesn't react well.
Amaya is spending time with family in Winter Harbour and has no idea that Carson is there too. Amaya has daddy issues so Carson's family dynamic and his anger issues made her think she had no other potion but to walk away. But now they are in the same place and Amaya has been keeping a huge secret. Will they both find a way to work through their problems or will they be apart forever.

I have to say at times I did find Amaya to be a bit whiney and the back and forth of their relationship made me want to throw my kindle at times but overall an enjoyable read and I look forward to reading Colton's story next.

We continue our adventure with Winter brothers and Carson is flabbergasted when he meets Amaya, the woman who ghosted him walking in town pregnant and on the arm of another man. This meeting brings up all sorts of emotions in Carson who his battling his anger issues and trying to find out what happened with his father and grandfather in this quaint little town. When Amaya confronts him with the truth about the pregnancy, everything changes for him. Can he solve the mystery behind his mother's identity? What did his family do to the town? Can he and his brothers redeem their family name? Will he have a chance at a family with Amaya? Will Amaya put aside her fears and open her heart to Carson? So many questions, and the mystery continues....Entertaining, angst filled, mind blowing story. I can't wait to see what's next in store with the Winters boys! I volunteered to review this amazing story.

When we first met Carson in book one, I knew I was going to love him! He is the perfect angry, wounded grump.

Carson is still brooding over being ghosted when he runs into the woman who did the ghosting. Amaya is heavily pregnant and just as surprised as Carson when she runs into him while caring for her aunt in Winter Harbor. It doesn’t take Amaya long to tell Carson he is the father, after their tense reunion. As individuals, Amaya and Carson have serious issues, mostly stemming from their respective fathers. There is a lot of miscommunication and misunderstandings, but once these two finally figure out they are better together than apart, the sweet love they share is awe inspiring.

What makes the story even better is the suspense surrounding the ongoing mystery of the Winter family and the town of Winter Harbor. I am very much looking forward to Colton’s story and the mystery being revealed!!
