Grace Meyers is an author of beachy feel-good romances and women's contemporary fiction. She was born in the south, but has traveled a bit since then and now lives in a small coastal town.
Lauren had a surprise birthday party thrown for her by her children, Scott and Nicole. She was upset upon reading her dna test results, her big surprise present from her children. All guests, family and friends who attended the surprise party were sent home. Lauren looked into her living relatives and is going to reach out to her twin. She has traveled to the town where her twin lives and is staying in a BnB where a gentleman is staying across the hall and whom Lauren is interested in meeting. Her twin has not returned her calls and inquiries and since it was supper time she went to the local bar for supper and had the surprise of meeting the gentleman staying across the hall from her.
This was a very good series. It lured me in with the first book and that made me need to purchase the remaining 5 books in order to actually finish the story. I was a little perturbed by that. It seems like Amazon broke the actually book into 6 so that they could get more more out of me. I felt like I was only reading a few chapters before it was time to open the next book in the series. That being said it included a DNA test (I am into genealogy) and how the results can really stir things up in the family. I would recommend the series if you want a quick, enjoyable read.
Lauren is 50 and for her birthday her children gave her DNA test results. She was shocked to find the results showed she was not related to her parents and she has a twin sister who lives several states away in Newport, Rhode Island. Lauren attempts to contact her sister and sets off for Newport to find her sister and discover the truth about her past, but on her arrival her sister cannot be found. Lauren runs into her ex-husband. What is he doing there? This is a series filled with surprises, mystery, suspence, and some romance.
I received an advance from the author and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Author will try to get your interest by putting book one on Kindle Unlimited. If you are interested you have to pay to read book two. Also, these books are short. Will I finish the series, no. Not worth my time or money as I already pay for Kindle Unlimited.
I am enjoying this so far. I was upset at first when I realized that this was a series of short books each ending in a bit of a cliff hanger. It was an easy read. I was only going to read this and move on, but Now I want to keep going and read them all at once. I am in the middle of the second right now. I like the characters and the plot is an interesting one.
The story is interesting but I HATE thinking I’m getting a full book when it’s really just the first part. And ends in the middle of the story. Just make the whole story a book!!
Wow, to find out after 50 years that you are adopted is so wrong, but I also have to take into account that there might be a good reason behind adopted parents not talking because of the anxiety of losing the child. I don't agree with it, but I do understand. This serious has a whole lot of potential and Grace Meyers is great with storytelling. This is only book one in the series, and I could not put it down.
Loving it so far!
I received this book for free as an ARC reader and my review is my own.
What would you do if your life turned out to be a lie? Lauren's children gave her a surprise birthday party. Their gift to her was a DNA test results. Lauren was shocked by what she learned and decided she needed answers about her real family. Wonderful start to Grace Meyer's new series. I can't wait to read more of this intriguing story.
I was given this advanced copy for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily.
Lauren was having a hard time with being single again and turning 50. Her kids decide to give her a surprise birthday present that really shook her world. Now she is on an adventure to find out more.
Wow! This story is starting off with a dramatic effort. Poor lady, really gets a surprise at her birthday party. A DNA test reveal, too much reveal, more to come next story.
This is such a good read. What a cliffhanger. I love the characters! Cannot wait for the next book. Grace Meyers gets better with every book she writes.
After receiving a DNA test from her kids for her 50th birthday Lauren finds out a shocking secret & her life turns upside down. Lauren decides what she must do!
The book was very short but then it basically ended with a "cliff-hanger". Some may appreciate this but I personally want a beginning and an end in my books.

I really liked this book, but was disappointed that it was just the beginning of the story about the journey of Lauren finding her real family. This story is written down in 6 books!
Lauran had always known she was more Irish than Italian, but her father had convinced her there was Irish in their family. She tries to leave book early to have a quiet 50th birthday, her kids plan different. They have planned a surprise birthday party for her. They are all there when she opens the door. She tries to be happy about it and everything goes fine until her daughter gives her a surprise gift and then it goes from bad to worse. She is furious with her parents and will not talk to them. She leaves the room and goes up to her bedroom & will not come back down. You will not want to miss this series I promise you. It will get you from the first book!
I received this ARC book for free and I am giving this review of my own free will. The opinions are all my own. I can't wait to get the nest one!
I don't normally wright reviews on books. Mostly because I always read the same authors. This book was free on my Amazon account so i picked it to read.
Nice light reading was all I was looking for. The first chapter was really an odd start. The main character has such a weird personality. She gets a gift from her kids and goes off the rails. I won't give away the story but this woman lies to her entire family and everyone she meets. I thought this would be a one and done book but no, it ends in the middle of the story so now I have to read the whole stupid thing to figure out the ending.
I'll be more careful next time I'm looking for a new author. I don't mind the writing I just really don't like the main character. I'm glad i didn't pay for this or I would be really mad.
Book one in a new series. Lauren leave work hoping for a quiet restful birthday weekend. Her son and daughter plan a surprise party with family and friends. One of her surprise gifts is the results to a DNA test
When the results are revealed, Lauren is in for a big surprise. As the story continues, Lauren tries to come to terms with her new discovery
Thank you to the author for this ARC. This review is my honest opinion.
The Family Reunion, the first book in the Newport Sisters series was wonderful. Lauren is turning 50 and her children surprise her with a party. They also reveal that they did a DNA test for her gift. Unexpected results send Lauren on a trip to discover her true family. Will she get answers? I am looking forward to the next book. Thanks to the author for the ARC. The review is my own opinion.
