Michelle was born in Los Angeles, California. Her mother, a Native Lakota, was an award-winning painter and American television actress. Michelle's pen name honors her mother's legacy.

As a professional, award-winning graphic designer, painter, and sculptor, Michelle plays bass guitar and creates dark-wave electronica. Music is a large part of her life. She is into punk, dark wave, gothic, and black metal music genres. You might even catch her at dark wave and industrial shows around Seattle. She enjoys creating as many mediums as possible, with writing her most recent endeavor. The Blood Bond Canticles is Michelle Morningstar's first series of supernatural thriller novels.

Michelle resides in the Pacific Northwest with her partner, dark novelist Brian Blackwood, two cats, and two dogs.

I want more!

I'm so sad to have finished this book. I want the next one!!! I teared up more than once at the betrayals and losses of these characters. I cheered and literally bounced in my seat at their triumphs and giggled out loud at their foibles. Even though this is a fantasy book the characters are as real as my friends and neighbors. Great read!!!

Prepare to stretch the limits of your imagination 10 fold. Michelle Morningstar's talent of creating a world in your mind that you never knew or could conceive of and events so powerful and unpredictable is deeply and satisfying and absorbing. I'm anxious to follow Drucilla's journey into the depths of the space she now inhabits and see how she navigates from here. FInally, something I can get into!

This first book in Michelle Morningsar's series does an excellent job of setting up a vibrant, interesting world that makes you want to dive in deeper and learn more. The characters, settings, and themes, borrowing from a myriad of religious influences, coupled with the central character's "coming of age" story, make for a compelling commentary on how chance and opportunity can shape you. Especially if you're not good at managing either.

Michelle crafted a living, breathing universe that begs to have more stories told within it. And that's just what I plan to do.

So fun!! Such a great read and a page turner !!! Drucilla’s adventures are out of this world and I love the originality- you definitely haven’t read anything like this before! There’s so much excitement, suspense and a few laughs too, I can’t wait to read the second book!
