Divine Dispatch: Discover, Develop, and Deploy Your Kingdom Assignment by Lajun & Valora Cole Book Review
In Divine Dispatch, Lajun and Valora Cole explored how God equipped us for His purposes and how He has sent us to accomplish His works. They defined “divine” as, “relating to or coming from God”. “Dispatch” was defined as, “to send quickly for a purpose.” In the book, they looked at the life of David, Joseph, Deborah, David, Jesus, Peter, Paul, Jonah, just to name a few and how they were developed and sent out to do God’s work. They looked how they each found their callings in different ways. Some of these included: dreams, prophecy, prayer, angelic visitation, and more. The book ended with how we are sent and some of these included: to set captives free, bring healing, to teach, to bring hope, to build, and more.
They both explained how they have been prepared throughout their life by the trial they have had to endure. In the book, they shared how Valora was told by her grandmother that she would be used by God to change the world and to tell others about Him. She shared how she first spoke at a youth conference and then she allowed fear to enter her life. She started to decline other speaking engagements. She revealed how other people spoke into her life that she was supposed to go into ministry. She became freer when she followed what God wanted her to do with her life. Another part of her story was how she was a nurse and got sick and they discovered her left lung was drowning with extra fluid and she had a brain tumor. The doctors explained that they couldn’t do anything else for her. God spoke to her during this event that her life wasn’t over and that she needed to declare His word over her life. A big part of her healing come from worshipping God. He also told her that she would marry. A year after her sickness, she met her husband, Lajun and now they serve in ministry together.
I would recommend this wonderful book on following and living out your purpose in life. I loved how they into great detail about the different key characters in the Bible about they were sent by God and how they developed along the way. My favorite chapter they explored was the one on David and how everything processed over time and how he was prepared. It was encouraging to read about how we each are sent in different ways to reach people for His Kingdom.
“I received this book free from the publisher, Bethany House/ Chosen for my honest review.”
LaJun Cole gives background information on his wife's calling into her ministry and her diagnosis with a brain tumor, which was causing her body to shut down. LaJun states that she was told there was nothing more they (the doctors) could do, and she was discharged with several medications to make her comfortable and not able to take care of herself. Basically, she was sent home to die. That was in 2007, fifteen years ago. God had great plans for her, which were to discover her ministry.
The authors state that there are diverse ways and times in which we discover our assignments and many different means of discovery. They list a few below: • Discovery in dreams • Discovery by direct announcement from God • Discovery by prophecy • Discovery by prayer • Discovery by angelic visitation
For each mean of discovery listed above, the authors provide questions to ponder and a very heart-felt prayer.
The authors discuss "Divine Dispatch" and defines it as: 1. The word divine is defined as “relating to or coming from God or a god,” 2. The word dispatch is defined as “to send quickly for a purpose.”
They discuss the "Divine Dispatch" of several noteworthy figures in the Bible, to include Jesus. They, also, state that their are enemies to our divine dispatch, and there are two types of opposition: (1) Opposition that comes from the inside, and (2) Opposition that comes from the outside.
The authors write that both can be damaging to your assignment if not brought under control. Internal opposition is often self-inflicted, and we have areas in which we have caused ourselves harm. They list some of the things that can sidetrack us, which include: • Greed and lust for money • Pride and over-inflated or over-estimated self-image • Perversion of gifts for self-gain • Competition or comparison with others • Vanity • Anti-submissiveness • Unteachable spirit • Cynicism • Callousness • Rejection • Abandonment • Fear of failing again based on failures of the past • Fear of man • Desire to prove our own worth • Compromise
The authors state that we must get control of these, because we can control them. We do not have to allow them to control us. We must master ourselves and be like Paul the apostle when he said, “But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway ” (1 Corinthians 9: 27).
Additionally, the authors state that not all of the opposition we will experience comes from inside. Some of the warfare will come from external factors, but we shouldn't worry about these because God has them under control. They provide the following list of some external oppositions: • Spirits of religion in regions and territories • Familial spirits • Seducing spirits • Jezebel spirits • Absalom spirits • Bewitchers
The authors provide the their "Sent One Creed", Declarations and Decrees, Confessions, and a Prayer of a Sent One.
They, further, state that although sent ones hate to encounter a controlling spirit, the truth is that these spirits will always be there in one form or another and we will always have to deal with them; however, the good news is that they were not successful against David, Paul, Elijah or Moses, and they will not prevail and succeed with us.
LaJun and Valora Cole state that they are glad the Word of God is on our side, for it declares:
“No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper” (Isaiah 54: 17)
Well, I must admit that this book was not what I expected, and I was dreading reading it. Yes, I did download it because I enjoyed reading the authors books. WOW, yes this is a "WOW" book. It exceeded my expectations 100%. I read it and re-read certain parts to fully understand it. It is full of referencing scripture, and this is something I treasure in a spiritual written book. Not to mention, the authors provide several prayers, and declarations and decrees. I Highly recommend this book.

Divine Dispatch is a spiritual growth book by author(s) LaJun and Valora Cole. The Coles are a ministry power team based in Tampa, Florida. They are also guests on major Christian media and internationally respected authors.
As a reader, if you are wondering what your purpose and destiny on earth are, and why you were created the authors give you biblical insight.
I believe the authors wrote Divine Dispatch to inform the reader. I appreciate that the book is written in three stages: (1) Discovery, (2) Development, and (3) Deployment. It is said that the reader must accomplish each stage before going on to the next. Each chapter has a question-to-ponder section and a prayer that goes along with what you read in that chapter.
There is much insight in Divine Dispatch. I give Divine Dispatch 5*/5*.
