A murder with no witnesses. A ghost from Miles Kims’ past. Welcome to your first day as a Seraph marshal. We hope you survive the experience.

While pursuing an escaped fugitive in the remote southern barrens, Miles Kim discovers a dead body next to a secluded spring.

But solving the murder and keeping his fugitive alive becomes complicated when a communication blackout prevents him from calling for backup.

Cut off, Miles finds himself in the sights of an enigmatic judge serving his own brand of outlaw justice.

Run or fight, Miles will need every trick in his arsenal to avoid becoming the next marshal to disappear in the savage wastelands.

“Don’t wait for someone or something to drop a blessing in your lap when it’s in your power to go out and get it for yourself.”

Miles Kim’s first day as Seraph’s newest marshal..turns out more complex and harder than he thought. Thrilling shootouts, and multiple betrayals. ... a fascinating read! This premise seemed to me more aggressive, grim, more thought provoking of all the series till now.
I love the way Paxton Walker speaks! So cultured and word versed, fluent and flourish. You wouldn’t think he was a crook and has been in jail so many times. A vivacious character. But then, many thieves are very educated, and well mannered.
The author has created another exciting, captivating tale of intrigue. You never know how it will turn out, but you're always rooting for Miles Kim!

-Adler has the ability to put the reader in the desert, in the midst of action, and delighted to be there. A tangible kaleidoscope life and emotions in the desert, flourishing communities in the middle of nowhere, with the constantly changing pattern of life and death always present. Desert dwellers’ moral turpitude leaves a lot to be desired.
A vivid vista of fun, incongruous, exceptional and violent characters. A splendid display of personalities, with their own reasons to hide away. The depraved man spent a great deal of his time hurting and hunting others.
The story is very well written with strong plotting and turpentine characters.
Another excellent book by I.O. Adler that keeps you on the edge of your seat with some wicked twists that makes me crave more.
The Old Chrome books are addicting, they are hard to put down. I can't wait for The Perdition Run #5 to come out!

Miles is back and has started his new job. But while out in the desert things go sideways as usual and he must fight and use his wits to stay alive. It was another entertaining story with new interesting characters for Miles to keep alive and try to stay out of their cross hairs. I laughed, I groaned but found it fun and twisty as I tried to figure out what was going on and why. Had to see who the ultimate bad guy would be and why. A total frontier justice story with a futuristic feel to make the story a bit fun. And had to see what Miles would have to survive this time. And Miles needs all the luck he can find.

Miles is back amid another adventure. I enjoyed this story's pacing and the characters met along the way. Miles develops and evolves and is just plain fun to follow about on his adventures. There's a western tech feel that permeates the whole series.

I strongly suggest reading the first books in order to more fully appreciate the character and the world he finds himself in.

I read an early copy of the book and have chosen to review it.
