Lisans ve lisansüstü eğitimini Boğaziçi Üniversitesi‘nde, doktora eğitimini de Manchester Üniversitesi‘nde tamamlamıştır. Halen Boğaziçi Üniversitesi‘nde ekonomi profesörü olarak görev yapmaktadır. Çevre iktisadı, ekonomipolitik ve iktisadi düşünce sistemleri üzerine çalışmaları bulunmaktadır.
