His revenge is complete. But with every action, comes a set of irreversible reactions.
Aimless and without purpose, Isaac Sage has committed the last 6 months since the events of Mad City to destroying the warehouses housing illegally altered drug compounds. Through day and night, he tries to distract himself from his past sins.

With the new enemy posing a potential threat to the lives of New Manhattan, can Isaac take down another life while still carrying the sole burden of his vigilante alter ego? Or will it shatter what's left of him in the process?
In Victor Vahl's novella filled with action, grit and drama, Mad Vigilance bridges the gap between Mad City and Mad Virus.

This is a fantastic novella, Victor Vahl sure knows how to tell an exciting story! Isaac, while still trying to come to terms with all the things he has done, needs to take on a new enemy. I’ve read it in one sitting!
I think it’s most enjoyable to read after you’ve read Mad City, so that’s what I recommend. This story also prepares us for the next full-length novel In this brilliant series :)
This latest entry in the MAD Universe is nothing short of thrilling. The world of Isaac Sage is reaching a tipping point. Saving a broken and corrupt city is not an easy job but one that someone has to do. Isaac has lost much but he is still one of the few glimmers of hope around. In under 100 pages, this novella contains action, drama, and rich characters. Also, Mad Vigilance manages to tell a compelling story while setting up for future installments.
The Mad Universe is quickly becoming one of my favorites and I cannot wait to see what's in store for the future of this series. For fans, this is a must-read. For newcomers, start with Mad City then come back and read this novella, you won't be disappointed.
I received this book as a free advance review copy in exchange for an honest review.
The writing is very evocative and there are hints of an interesting plot. The author indicated that this story could be read without having read the first book in the series, so that's what I did. For me, it was like walking into a theater in the middle of a movie. I have no idea what MAD is, and only a superficial hint of why these characters are doing what they are doing. In my case, I definitely need to read the first book. Because of the quality of the writing and the potential of the plot, I will definitely do that.
I had the opportunity read this novel before the first book that precedes it. The biggest thing I find for VIGILANCE is the need to read its first part MAD CITY, otherwise you will feel lost in this world. In such a short novel, it is difficult to immerse yourself enough to deduce everything that has happened in a previous chapter or in this case an ibro. However, I admit that the good construction of its characters, which for me is the best thing that Victor does, added to an interesting plot, make you want to know more about it. I will again make a review of this novel once Ive finished MAD CITY... I think the greatest achievement here is that despite these disadvantages, it has managed to capture the attention of a new reader for this world, which for me speaks well of the author.
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC copy of this book and this is my own honest review. The MAD Universe continues. This may be a Novella but it certainly packs a punch.. Every page adding to the depth of the characters living in New Manhattan. The narrative seamlessly unfolds. As some start to unravel and some try to continue living with their choices. Some reconnect, some disconnect. The MAD Universe continues. Highly Recommend.
