Easton I've always hated Jasmine. I couldn’t pinpoint why, something about her just got under my skin. Then she snitched on me. Now, I live to torment her. Bask in the glory of her tears. One kiss put her on my radar. One bet had my world in a downward spiral. And my heart? It found its reason for beating… until she broke it.
Jasmine I just wanted to finish school and leave my legacy behind. I didn’t want to sling drugs like my dad or become a mafia princess like my mom. I wanted to be an artist, but everyone keeps telling me it’s not possible. My plan was to escape. But then Easton came along, tormenting me and crushing my heart in the palm of his hand. I hated Easton, but maybe, I loved him, too. Until I didn’t.
M.T. Morgan lives in Texas with her husband and two children. She enjoys reading a good fantasy/PNR romance as well as a good cup of coffee. She has old lady tendencies even though she's in her mid-twenties. And writing her own bio is very cringe worthy to her.
M.T. Morgan tends to bounce around the romance genre. She may make you laugh, cry and cringe. It just depends on her mood.
This story was going pretty well in the beginning and I was enjoying it. I can't say the execution was perfect but the characters had me invested and I was liking how crazy and fucked up they were. And then the last 50% or so happened and it was nothing more than a confusing mess. I honestly don't even know what was happening in the end. So many storylines were popping up and then ending really fast with barely any details. Like an arranged marriage to some mafia family that these main families were at war with, which hadn't been mentioned at all before this? The jumping from storyline to storyline was just odd. And then there were time jumps that I was not a fan of at all, especially since something major happened in the time not shown and it was only mentioned but not in a lot of detail.
So yes I was enjoying the beginning for the most part, but that ending came in and ruined it all for me. Things from the beginning even started to annoy me once I finished reading since my mood was so different about these characters. Overall, nothing felt fleshed out enough and there was just a little too much going on in the story.
"They don't call me the heartless prince for nothing."
How can I explain this story to you??? It was crazy and absurb, but at the same time intoxicating as hell!!! I just couldn't put my kindle down... Our heroine was broken beyond repair and our hero was a complete sicko... Did that stop me from keep reading??? Not at all!!! On the contrary, I fell for this toxic relationship and I was sitting on the edge of my seat to see where this insanity will lead us!!!
"Girls like me don't get princes like Easton."
Easton and Jasmine were running in the same circle, but from a very young age, there was bad blood between them... She just wanted her peace, but he was determined to make her life a living hell!!! A kiss that's lighting the match and a bet that spread the fire changed their status, but Easton's ego destroyed them once and for all!!! Is there a chance for these two after all???
"Everything about Easton McKnight scares me. The way he makes my heart beat. The way his body pulls mine in. Even the way he bullies me sets my body on fire."
Honestly, I don't know how to explain this story to you... There were happening too many things in here!!! Jasmine's life was full of tragedies and self-destruction!!! Easton was cruel and heartless and he was refusing to acknowledge his hatred toward Jasmine as something more than that!!! These two had to live through hell in order to be together!!!
"Guess what, Snitch? I see you. I don't want to fucking see you, but I do. Ever since my lips touched yours, you're all I see."
Well, this was my first time reading M.T. Morgan and it wasn't bad at all!!! The writing needs a little bit of impovement cause sometimes I was feeling lost by the abrupt changes, but still... I enjoyed this fucked up, intense and insane story!!! The heirs of BurBay Falls are crazy and bloodthirsty, but so addictive!!! I can not wait for Ezra's turn!!! I suppose with Axel King... And honestly, I can not wait to see how this twisted love story will be played out by the author!!!
"Sometimes it takes falling in love with the girl you hate to find your forever."
**I received an ARC for the exchange of an honest review**
Jasmine was born into a life she has never wanted, constantly being surrounded by crime and death makes it hard to find any happiness. As much as she has tried to distance herself away from it, it always finds a way to pull her in... it's impossible to escape. It has taken so much from her, left her damaged beyond repair, and made it hard to trust anyone around her. But then Easton comes into her life and turns it upside down, hope starts to bloom, but can she trust it?
Crash is a heartbreaking story of a young lady that finds herself trapped in darkness and despair and the young man that promises to save her. Jasmine's life comes with prestige and riches, which most would love to have, but the one thing she wants most is love and appreciation. She's never had that, her parents are always too busy with work to pay attention to her, and the world they love so much has left her broken and feeling neglected. Then her one time nemesis Easton storms into her life and things slowly start to change for the better, but she is hesitant to trust it, because the world they live in always takes, and seldom gives. Can she trust the sweet words he whispers, the love he claims to have for her, or is it all for the sake of their world?
From beginning to end this one had me completely mesmerized, I could not pry my eyes from the pages until I knew every last detail. The words tore at my heart, angered me, gave me hope, and eventually made me smile. This one was a rough one, my emotions were all over the place, and my heart physically hurt...but that ending made up for it! If you like darker romances, and don't mind triggers then I highly suggest you give it a chance. It will do a number on your heart, but I promise it's so worth it!!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.
I wanted to love this book…I wanted to love this (and tried) so much, but I just couldn’t. It has so much potential and I feel as if the author missed on so many things.
Jasmine is young woman who is lost to her own thoughts and demons. Dealing with way more than she should, starting at a young age, and just kind of spirals through out the story. My heart broke repeatedly for her, yet I think I physically yelled at her more than I did at Easton.
Easton is hard to describe. He uses…he takes and takes and takes until there is nothing but ash left without contributing anything. This young man learned a ton of lessons, at least I like to imagine he did, but had to learn them the hard way.
These two together is a toxic cocktail - I wanted to root for these two - but, honestly, I just got so tired of the using, push/pull, and blind ignorance that I just pulled my big girl cargos up and soldiered through their story.
It killed me to see so many missed opportunities to make this story the truly fantastic one it could’ve been if the author would’ve taken the time to develop the plot properly. In my opinion, the characters are poorly developed and the plot holes are the main killers. There are time jumps and parts of the story where skips happen that had me going back a few pages and rereading to make sure I didn’t miss anything. Unfortunately, I didn’t- it’s just the way the story is written. I just can’t get past all the questions I have regarding these two characters and this story. But, I did finish it and I am sure that there are others that loved it - I am just not one of them. I did love the idea of this though, there are some truly fantastic lines said at certain points and the author shows so much potential that I am willing to give another of her books a chance on the future.
“Your scars are your will to keep fighting, a symbol of your battle cries when you feel like dying. They are not ugly; for you see, you choose to keep living, and that is beautiful to me.” -M.T. Morgan
When you read a book with a deduction like that you know, it’s going have you gripping your kindle wanting to know everything possible.
This story isn’t light hearted and roses this book is deep and touches on subjects some may find sensitive. This book too me a little more time to read because when you relate to something I had to take the time to read.
Jasmine has a troubled past that she try’s to his by doing things she shouldn’t. The one person she wants she can’t allow herself to have because he is her tormentor. She always turns to her art and shelters herself away from everyone and everything.
Easton is a pain in the rear! He never wanted anything to do with Jasmine he always called her snitch. Then one kiss changes everything for him, feelings he thought he’d never have, moments he thought were never possible. All it takes and one moment and things change.
I wanna tell you so much about this book but the best I can tell you is this book is one you should read especially if you like a mafia vibe, with a close knit family group and friends who are always there. They may have all grew up together but they all have their own bit of darkness. In some parts the book may seem a tad rushed but I promise you nothing gets left unanswered for, me I’m just a person who wants more than necessary at times lol.
The characters were so intriguing, I wanted to crawl into this story and shadow them like a creeper, their development was spot on. And the world they lived in... it almost felt like I was stepping into something forbidden. The twists, the turns and the agony M.T. not only puts her characters through, but her readers as well...
If you looking for a book full of hearts and flowers this one's not for you. This book contains dark, gritty, and obsessive kind of love.
Easton bullies the weak and that's Jasmine. She is on his radar and stays there until one kiss. That changes everything. But one bet turns the tables again. A great story with so many twists and turns that makes the head spin and the reading so interesting. Settled in a world of mafia families and all that comes within.
Jasmine doesn't fit at all in this world she was born in, art is her devotion and sadness surrounds her since tragedy stroke her. She is an outcast by these who are supposed to be her family, but despite everything she has a very good soul.
Easton is mostly difficult. When he sets his mind or sight on something he gets his claws in it and doesn't let go. First Jasmine is a game for him, than she became his world. Until she didn't. He is ruthless when has to be and caring in his own way when he feels for someone.
So many interesting people, so many stories to tell so many options for more books. I hope the come. Once in this world, you can't go away.
I am OBESSED! Literally loved this book! I thought break was going to be my favorite because I loved Monroe and Nix, but nope Easton and Jasmine have stolen that because, damn their story was so good! Although you should check trigger warnings. This story had everything you could ask for, steam, dark dangerous and suspense! Childhood enemies to lovers’ rocks! Their chemistry is off the charts! Literally this is a top 5 read for me ever! I wish I could give it more than 5 stars because well that is what is deserved but sadly 5 stars is the highest! M.t Morgan has skyrocketed her way to my top favorite authors. I am so here for her writing and storytelling skills! Easton and Jasmin have claimed a spot in my heart.
For such a long story, everything happened too fast for my liking. Almost everyone in this book are assholes, what's up with that? It is so toxic and annoying I dnf.
Gripping, intriguing and captivating. Sometimes you pick up a book and know it’s going to be special before you even open the pages and crash was that plus so much more. I’m in awe of M.T. Morgan’s story telling.
This book had me completely spellbound I’m hooked on M.T. Words I’m excited to see what she comes up with next.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephane's Book Reports.
Easton I've always hated Jasmine. I couldn't pinpoint why, something about her just got under my skin. Then she snitched on me. Now, I love to torment her. Bask in the glory of her tears. One kiss put her on my radar. One bet had my world in a downward spiral. And my heart? it found it's reason for beating...until she broke it. Jasmine I just wanted to finish school and leave my legacy behind. I didn't want to sling drugs like my dad or become a mafia princess like my mom. I wanted to be an artist, but every keeps telling me it's not possible. My plan was to escape, but then Easton came along, torment me and crushing my heart in the palm of his hand. I hated Easton, but maybe, I loved him, too. Until I didn't.
Jasmine is a girl who was born into a life that no one would ever want to be born into. Always surrounded by crime and death. It is impossible for her to find her happiness and she really wants to be an artist. But as hard as she tries to distance herself away from this life, she can't seem to get out and is always drug back in. It is impossible for her to escape and live as she wants it to be is an impossible dream. The poor girl never knows what it is like to really be loved and to trust anyone. But when Easton enters her life things suddenly seem to change. He really does turn her world upside down and she begins to feel things she never felt before and hope is a big part of that but is Easton and what he makes her feel really something that she can trust. Oh gosh how my heart broke her Jasmine so many times. She is trapped and when Easton comes along he is the only one she has ever looked at as a person who could save her. I wanted her out of that life so bad I wanted to grab her out of that book and pluck her down in the most amazing life that there ever has been. This is a story of heartbreak and possible a love that could change both their lives but the main issue is trust. After all everyone in her life has let her down and she can't trust a single thing ever and that might include Easton. But I really liked him and they both had a bad wrap. This book is going to break your heart so many times and you will think your never going to be the same. But have faith that things in the end will all be like you need Easton and Jasmine need them to be.
Want to feel your heart go from a nice steady beat to racing a hundred miles a minute? You do? Perfect, this is the book for you. We are given every single emotion and they go from happy to crazy in a second. But man, it is the best ride ever! “But I’d never really saved her, she always saved me.”
As we begin, we meet the beautiful Jasmine. Life has been unkind to her in so many ways. She may be the town’s princess, but Jasmine has never felt that. The one person she wants to be in her corner never is there for the right reason. He is there to torment her and make life difficult. That fine line between hate and love but never crossing it. So, she turns to her art, the only thing that brings happiness to her as the world around her falls apart. Jasmine goes through so much and it becomes necessary for her to get away for herself.
Easton has never wanted anything to do with Jasmine, until a kiss changes his whole world. But he has to break her even if he knows it will truly make her shatter. He rules the school and now that the older heirs have left, he allows the torment to happen. Knowing she is fragile doesn’t stop him until it is almost too much.
I wish I could convey the right words to explain how this book will make you reevaluate so much. These families all live close to one another and we are witness to how growing up isn’t always easy for anyone, even those in big beautiful houses. I could not put this book down no matter what else was happening around me. There are a couple parts that are a little choppy, but honestly you get pulled into this one and just enjoy the rollercoaster.
THIS BOOK BROKE ME AND I DON'T WANT TO LIVE THIS ADDICTIVE DARK WORLD.
One I really love Jasmin and Easton enemies to lovers love story. There dark romance is not straight forward and there are some surpise AND one character redeems themselves and I can not wait for there story too😍
Now back to Jasmin & Easton they both have there own personal discovery story. Easton to accept that he LOVES HER and he is very dangerous just like the rest of the family. Mafia families teach their heirs to fight to protect themselves and kill...
Jasmin she went through something so horrific...no spoilers. She does over come it and made herself stronger. But the nightmares are still coming for her until a gaint muscle of man called Easton holds her through 🥲
They are the dream team togther but it took awhile for them to accept they love each other and forgive each other...let's just say they are hard headed
"They say in life there are certain days that change you. Define you as a person. Thru either make or break you."
Two I can not wait for Axel & Erza. Crash has got me all hype up for these two cause both a colour dangerous characters and let's just say one of them is more tense and dangerous than the other 😈
"God, he is hot. If I were to sin, it would be all over Axel King."
This book not only has addictive tense love story but action, suspense and we are just at the begin at understanding this mafia world. For now they stop one mafia war but will more be coming. And there is a MC club too which I can not wait to learn more about. This series will have everything for me Mafia & MC worlds LOVE LOVE LOVE.
M.T Morgan has got me all HYPED & EXCITED for more !!
I have to start by saying how much I absolutely adore M.T Morgan’s writing. She is not only one of the most talented authors I have ever read but she is also one of my very faves . I can honestly say that I have never read any of her books I have not simply adored and I’ve read them all . Crash is the type of story that will literally grab onto all your emotions pull at your heartstrings and suck you right in . Wonderfully written characters, that are so likable and relatable as well as unique and captivating , a storyline that is so beautifully written it is guaranteed to stir so many different emotions In you while reading ( a emotional rollercoaster In every sense of the word. Dark , raw , gritty , steamy , twist and turns , angsty , filled with drama , witty banter , humor , family , friendships, second chances, unforgettable and unputdownable. There really are no words to express all the reasons I loved both Jasmine and Easton’s emotional journey so much , I honestly believe to fully appreciate what a phenomenal job M.T Morgan has done , you should go into the story with a completely open mind and read it for yourself. But prepare yourself because once you start I can promise you will have a very hard time putting it down , you will laugh, you will cry and you will find yourself rooting so hard for both characters. Crash is everything a great romance should be and so much more. Not to mention unforgettable and unputdownable
I am simply blown away! MT Morgan is delivering wonderful book after wonderful book! I 100% love Crash.
Crash is intense, its gripping, its all consuming. This entire book will have you wondering what is gonna happen next. There are so many surprises you don't see any of it coming. There are definitely some triggering topics dealt with in this book that can make you feel all the emotions right in your soul. Do check the trigger warnings if you are someone who needs them. The draw to each other between Jasmine and Easton, is so strong. Jasmine is for sure the outcast of the family, the type to be different and standout. Easton is the typical jock who picks on the weak. One simple interaction can change it all for both of them. Crash if filled with drama, excitement, chemistry, steamy goodness, and all the angst you could need. I love getting an inside look to the close knit family. I am loving all the characters that are apart of them. They each are special in their own way.
I definitely recommend this book for other to read. It will draw you right in and have you enjoying the dynamics of this family. Another great read from MT Morgan. I can't wait to see what is coming next! Not only in this series but also from this author.
Jasmine and Easton’s story is dark. He’s tormented her for as long as she can remember but she can’t stop wanting him. She’s been through some stuff and has issues so maybe that’s why she’s drawn to him. He has always hated her more than anything but one dare changes everything, turning his world on upside-down.
Easton is her bully. They live in an isolated mafia world but her parents, despite being very powerful, haven’t been able to protect Jasmine and she’s suffering. She has more pressing matters to handle than worrying about Easton, but when he’s drawn to her, she’s helpless to resist him. Too bad he wants to destroy her.
I liked Jasmine immediately and just wanted someone to protect her, but Easton certainly wouldn’t have been my first choice. It took longer to warm up to him but he really brought it as the story progressed. I love a good bully romance and enemies to lovers and this one delivers.
This is the first book in the BurBay Falls series and the first book that I’ve read by this author. I have to admit, I was quite surprised. This is a beautifully written bully, enemies to lovers romance. What Morgan puts the FMC through is so utterly heartbreaking. Very raw and emotional.
Jasmine is the mafia princess, growing up in luxury and riches. Though that comes at a price, her happiness. Her escape is her art. Though things start to change when Easton comes into the picture. But his motives aren’t what you think. Can his sweet nothings really bring her happiness or will he drag her down a deeper darker path?
This book was so emotional. Raw, grit, suspense, angst, twists and turns leaving you on the edge of your seat trying to figure out what’s going to happen next. Can’t wait to read more from this author.
I received this book and am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
This author advises You are not meant to feel comfortable in every aspect of this story and boy was M.T. Morgan right, but I wouldn't have missed Jasmine and Easton's story for the world, this is as tragic as it is beautiful.
Be prepared to really dislike Easton at the beginning of Crash because I know I did, where I wanted to comfort Jasmine I just wanted to knock some sense into him, I wish I could say that those were the only emotions that gripped me through this gut-wrenching book, but I would be lying, this is a true story of never giving up even when on the brink of despair that you hide so well, and for me the shining star is Jasmine, and Easton who although will always be a bad boy became a first-class swoon-worthy book boyfriend.
A story that will be hard to read but will touch your soul.
4 1/2 Star Read: This is a dark read Jasmine has had a hard life with no one to protect her. Easton and others at school bully her so to help her to get over this she cuts herself. She needs to feel the pain to help with the pain deep inside. One day he kisses her and he feels things he shouldn't she is his enemy. But he also has a bet he needs to fulfil but will this break Jasmine. Ezra is Jasmine's best friend and looks out for her when she has been bullied and needs to run. Just to further complicate matters Ezra is Easton's sister but she doesn't even care. She will hurt her brother if he hurts her best friend. I received an arc for my honest review for NNBB. This is a dark mafia romance enemies to lovers romance. There may be some triggers for some people in this story therefore heed any warnings.
This is Easton and Jasmine’s story. Jasmine has been left damaged by the life she was born into, and she has tried to distance herself from it, and does not know who to trust, as she just wants to be loved for being herself. Easton grew up in the same life, and he hates Jasmine, and wants nothing to do with her, until one kiss changes the dynamics between them. Can these two move on from being enemies / lovers? This is a well written story which is dark, raw, gritty, and an emotional roller coaster, with despair, family, friendships, heartbreak, and love, which pulls at the heartstrings throughout. This is not a story for the faint-at-heart!! I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend. I received a free copy of this book via Social Butterfly PR and am voluntarily leaving a review.
OMG This is a new to me author.. I saw the blub and was like.. Umm this sounds like it would be up my alley.. WOW This book was soooooooo good... Easton and Jasmine grew up together. Jasmine has always had some sort of little crush on Easton... and Easton.. well he felt indifferent.. that is until one night changes everything... Easton now sees jasmine and not in a good way.. he wants to destroy her for what she has done. FF a few years.. Easton still hell bent on making Jasmine's life a living hell.. then something else happens.. and when he gets his first taste of sweet sweet Jasmine.. all bets are off.. conflicted on what to do.. does he still want revenge or has that all changed?
I loved this book hard.. and realizing this was the second book so to speek.. I had to find the first book... I cant wait to start it.
“Living is hard; death is easy. But living was worth it. The memories, the people, the beautiful yet cruel world around you. Life isn’t about surviving the way so many, myself included, see it. Life is love.”
A truly haunting and at times read through your fingers type story - the agonies and the suffering were all so brutal. Betrayal so raw it was physically and emotionally scarring and the after effects never ending. One person after another breaking her trust until she no longer knew which way was up and yet she never gave up. She dared to hope…
There is so much more to this story than Jasmine but she stole the spotlight and the rest faded to grey for me, this is her story, her journey and her moment.
The family and extended circle is one I want to explore. This is my first read by this author and the only reason I dropped a star was because at times I felt a little out of the loop with the characters as I feel there is a back story that I may have missed out on, dynamics already explored in other stories perhaps. I totally loved the writing style, world building and plot and will be reading more by this author.
I really wanted to like this book because I love the premise, but it wasn’t executed well. It felt choppy like those animated series where they have 3 stories in one episode.
One second he hates her, the next he loves her… we don’t get any closure on the horrible stuff he’s done to her. Same thing with her relationships with other characters. It didn’t feel like there was any character development because nothing was flowing.
This book was so unbelievably good I couldn't put it down the whole time I was reading it. I knew after just reading the blurb that I needed to read this story and I'm so glad I did, because this arthur who is knew to me took me on such a wild ride of emotions that I didn't know what was going to happen next. This is dark, gritty, angsty you'll be wanting to jump into the story to help. Ugh this story. I would absolutely recommend grabbing it up.
This book was my first dark romance. Kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time! Huge triggers if you have any research or think before reading. My first M.T Morgan read! Loved it 5*
This book had me confused between the past and present pov. So that’s what took my rating down. The beginning felt like it was dragged on with the same bullying. But after I got past that it was great. She described the harming of the FMC wonderfully. You felt it emotionally and you see the growth of how strong she was with overcoming her own demons and even the ones that are thrown on to her during the book. The emotions were high. The ending was great.
