Death follows Lucy as a long line of her family and friends all die so suddenly she then becomes lost and alone, moving to France she finds a new job and makes some new friends and reignites old friendships from early childhood. But with the school she works at being haunted by a dead nun it becomes a bit scarier, then she becomes sick and it’s not all so easy.
I loved this one it wasn’t what you’d expect, it wasn’t just a straight forward romance it had different elements throughout it and it was so interesting. I loved the haunting nun that was everywhere as it gave it such a hidden creepiness as you weren’t sure what was going on. I also liked that she grew on her love slowly, it wasn’t instant, she realised over time how much he meant to her.
It was really well transcribed from the original story, an absolutely incredible story to begin with but the way it was transcribed was amazingly well done. It was so enticing and engaging, the characters were easy to into and each added something interesting to the story. Another incredible easy classic to this wonderful series.

This is an adaption of Villette by Charlotte Brontë. I can’t rate this since I’ve never read Villette before. It’s been in my TBR list forever but I’m afraid it might be like the St John portions of Jane Eyre.
Perhaps I will revisit this after I read the original Villette.
