낮게 가라앉은 목소리로 애쉬가 말했다.
“칼라일이 그러면…… 속상하니까.”
속에 무언가 걸리는 느낌이 났다. 애쉬의 저의를 알 수가 없었다. 스쳤던 과거를 기억하는 것도 아니고, 그저 부탁에 의해 본인을 상대하는 것에 불과한데, 남자는 마치 좋아하는 상대를 대하는 것처럼 칼라일을 취급한다. 그렇지 않은 걸 아는데도.
애쉬는 니콜라스 화이트를 사랑한다. 칼라일에게는 여전히 좋은 감정을 지니고 있지 않을 것이다. 묻지 않으려고 했던 의문이 결국 튀어나왔다.
“맞아요. 칼라일과는 앞으로 몇 번만 만나면 끝일 거예요.”
다정하지만 확실한 어조였다. 갈비뼈 가운데가 찌르르 울리는 느낌이 들었다. 칼라일이 입을 다물었다.
“하지만 지금 제가 만나는 사람은 칼라일뿐이고.”
손등을 문지르던 손이 깍지를 다시 꼈다.
“적어도 그 순간 동안에는 제 섹스 파트너에게 잘해 주고 싶어요.”
섹스 파트너. 칼라일은 애쉬가 정의한 그들의 관계를 되뇌었다.
맞는 말임이 분명한데, 어쩐지……마음이 아파 왔다.

"After starting to date Ash, Ash asked Karlyle a lot of things. Everything from hobbies... Even Karlyle found out things he didn't know well, and Ash carefully looked into things he wasn't even aware of."
What? An ABO story with romantic and realistic descriptions of a relationship?
I love this book!!! Despite being mostly a very romantic book with insanely high dosages of smut, Define the Relationship doesn't pretend that everything will magically be perfect as soon as you confess your love (and subsequently also find you are indeed loved back). We all have baggage. Ash has issues with trust in prior relationships. Karlyle has deep rooted insecurities that make him look down on himself often and spiral out of control because of his habit of just silently accept everything.
This first side story, after the end of the main story, is wonderful because it explores how dauntimg can be to realize that you need to constantly work om a relationship. And how hard it is grasp how to do it.
And yet, their love is so beautiful!😍
"Ever since he realized that Karlyle looked down on himself, he tried for him not to think that way.. Either way, it was the assumption that broke Ash's heart. Because he wouldn't want anyone other than Karlyle. As if it had slowly penetrated into his life, Karlyle had eroded all the elements that made up the human being called Ash. The act of burying his nose in his soft and smooth neck and inhaling his body, like the gentle scent of flowers, of melting his hard and cold hands with his own warmth, and of making them white because of him. Seeing a smile was now something Ash had to do without missing a day.."
On a very important side note, dont think I've read a better proposal.
I love Ash and Karlyle to pieces!!!💖💖💖

I saved up the last three chapters of the Define the Relationship manhwa to binge read them since I knew it was the end when I was caught by the fact that it was called the end of the main story. I went digging and lo and behold, there are THREE MORE VOLUMES???
I love Ash and Karlyle so I think it's an underestimation to say that I was so excited to find out that I could read more about them and their relationship, as one website put it - "after the I love you". I feel like that's so apt. They are finally on the same page, are honest about their feelings for each other and now we can explore how they really are together. It's perfect!
To be honest, I couldn't believe that there was more since I felt like the manhwa covered all the beats but knowing that there is so much more to experience and that it may never be drawn out made me instantly try to find the novel, which I am overjoyed that I did!
But having said that, I feel like this volume was such a good conclusion so I'm excited to see where we go from here. I am so happy we finally saw them get through conflict together (after they start dating) and we see Karlyle's and Ash's insecurities both surface but they work through it together. And the proposal! Don't get me started, it was just absolutely perfect and so touching. I felt like even I was going to cry reading about it! I love these two so much and can't wait to continue reading about their journey~
