Book one in a gripping new investigative reporter series for fans of espionage and conspiracy theories.

Reporter Linda Reeves has always had a nose for sniffing out the truth. When Canadian Security Intelligence Service agent Clay Langley confesses to the murder of her best friend’s husband, it comes as no surprise to her. But he claims it was an accident, and with Clay’s unknowing help, she intends to prove he planned it all along.

When a body is dumped in the Elbow River, Clay knows CSIS is about to make their move. He's suspected all along they’d transferred him only to plot his death, and he knows who can help him prove it—reporter Linda Reeves.

With CSIS on the move, can Linda help Clay before he’s discovered, and they’re both wiped out for good—or is her only goal to prove he’s a murderer?

It helps if you've been following the Cynthia books as some of the storyline and characters overlap. If you can't handle some of the good guys biting the dust, this won't be the book for you. If you want a great mystery with more villains than you can shake a stick at and it's hard to know the good guys from the bad ones at times, jump in with both feet because this will take you on a rollercoaster you won't soon forget! Powerful characters and a story that'll have you checking over your own shoulder.

Starting off, I would like to say it was a great action and adventure story woven good within a storyline. The author pulls you in slowly while explaining the main characters back stories. there are a few minor characters in the story that I would have love a little bit more work into the story ( The Fedora man, Keane, Paul) The book is overall a great read for me. I finished it in three days, I wanted to know the conclusion. I would 100% recommend it to you as a great little story to get lost in. Happy reading!

This book was a great thriller, mystery and suspenseful ride. The plot has the right amount of twists and turns to keep the read engaged until the very end. I have read a few Michelle Cornish books and she has yet to let me down. Every book I have read has me from start to finish. If you want a book that is fast paced and has you guessing then this is the book for you. I highly recommend this book.

Thanks NetGalley and SolVin Creative for allowing me to read this ARC in advance for my honest opinion.

I wasn't expecting much from this story as the blurb didn't really grab me - but THANKFULLY I persisted because what a little discovery this is! The story rockets along, and while there are a few stumbles around jumps and story leaps, it's a killer (excuse the pun) start to the Rogue Reporter series.
