The Adventures of Scooter and Smack Making a Difference leads children through 3 new stories in this second book in the series, "The Adventures of Scooter and Smack." Simos tells each story using rhyming. Large printed sight words and engaging story lines help children learn to read alone or with an adult. The full-color illustrations show the familiar and lovable characters, Scooter the dog and his best friend Smack, the squirrel, throughout each adventure. Each story brings in new characters to meet, too, including a fox, a skunk, an opossum, and even a grateful spider.
The stories, "Scooter and Smack Recycle," "Scooter and Smack Welcome a New Friend," and "Scooter and Smack Return a Lost Treasure" can be enjoyed in any order, so one at a time or all together as a book. Each has a different moral or lesson, but all show the two friends encountering an opportunity to do the right thing as their adventures include "making a difference."

good easy reads with good lessons
These books have some good lessons for kids in them: take care of Mother Earth, differences, acceptance, helping others and doing what is right. My 8 year old enjoyed reading to his 3 year old brother, who also likes to listen and look at the pictures.

Fun stories with great morals
This book contains three short stories with great morals. The first story teaches about the importance of reducing, reusing, and not polluting. The second story teaches about being kind to those who are different. The third story shows that we should help others. These stories can open to great conversations at home. Entertaining and Educational!!!
This story was a great read!!! There were elements of friendship and boundaries, the importance of recycling and cleanliness, as well as education. The lessons in this book are relatable to young children through the author's storytelling abilities.

These three stories all have great lessons. In all three stories Scooter and Smack always find away to help others and to make a difference as the title suggests. The illustrations are colorful and complements the story beautifully.

A great read with plenty of lessons.
This book is three different stories but all have different meanings and lessons behind then. Story one is about recycling and saving the earth. Story two is about friendship and inclusion and story three is about finding something that doesn't belong to you and returning it. Great book all round. Well done.

A beautiful trio of little stories, with powerful and important messages. Lovely illustrations really helped to bring the characters to life. An all round great book for all young children.
