This book was cute fun. It follows Saki, a young adult working at her family business, Nihei Lacquerware, in Aizuwakamatsu. If loved enough, the lacquerware can birth Tsukumogami, which is kind of like a little fairy or spirit. They can be helpful at times but often cause some mischief. Saki is joined by Kiryu, a young man also living in Aizu who got roped into all of this. They work together to help solve the problems created by the spirits.
Aizu is one of, if not my most, favorite places in Japan, so when I saw this sitting on the shelf in Tsutaya you know I just had to pick it up. The story is very cute, very cozy. I really liked it, not enough to become a favorite, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I'm interested in reading more stories like this in the future. So definitely going to keep an eye out for Hirono Misa's new works!
