Power can take many forms, but sometimes the greatest magic comes from inside you.
Asha has been a servant for the cruel Duke Bryce for as long as she can remember, and when he married Queen Ilma of the Wind Kingdom, she was dragged to the castle with him and his daughters.
Now, the death of the queen has thrown the castle into panic: if her son, Prince Aither, doesn’t marry before his 18th birthday, the throne will go to Duke Bryce.
Prince Aither knows he must choose a wife, and he’s resigned to his fate. But Duke Bryce has his own ideas about who his bride should be, and if he gets his way, no one will be happy.
Asha is used to watching everything unfold from her place in the kitchen, but she soon finds herself on an unexpected quest set to change her life forever.
Meanwhile, Prince Aither must find a way to make the best of what seems like a hopeless situation and use his powerful magic as a force for good in the kingdom.
The Glass Stone is a magical tale of hope and love inspired by the traditional story of Cinderella. Sometimes, just a little bit of magic is all you need to change the world.

The Glass Stone is the third book in the Jeweled Fairytale Retelling series by Sara Michaels. While the first two books in the series need to be read in order as a duet, this third book can be read as a standalone. It is set in the same world, but the story itself stands by itself.
The Glass Stone is inspired by Cinderella, and it is easy to draw parallels between the tales. While it has the necessary elements to make this one feel like a Cinderella story, it does add unique spins to it. Like the first two books in the series, this one is filled with magic. Unlike the first two books, there is more of a focus on the political intrigue of court. It offers something a bit different while still providing elements that the fans of the first books were hooked on.
While not my favourite of the three books – the second book has that honour – fans of the magical world are sure to be intrigued by this different insight into the magic.
The Glass Stone is a wonderful book. The 21 chapter book stirred something inside me. It was my first time reading a modern retelling of a fairytale. It made my inner child happy as there are no wicked stepsisters (spoiler alert🤫). I like how the Duke's daughter bond with Asha and treat her as their sibling. I also like how the story tells the suffering of Asha and Aither and how they managed to overcome all of them.
It also made me smile at how subtle Asha and Aither were. The stealthy glances between them and how they escape their duties to sit on the roof. Everything in the book is magical but I still hate the cruel Duke Bryce.

This is my favorite of the three books. Cinderella is always a favorite of mine and I read every retelling I can get my hands on. I loved the multiple POVs and seeing both of their thoughts throughout the book. This was fantastic and I loved reading it and it was a fun read and I recommend it.
