Working in Corsica, Lexa was warned by Suzanne to keep away from her property, Bryden. But Bryden was so disinterested in her, Lexa wondered why she ever considered her a rival...
I liked this because of the Corsican setting, which provided some interesting complications. The H was tormented by past loves lost and didn’t want the h at risk, so he pushed her away. One thread that was left largely unexplored was the attempt on the h’s life, and that was irksome.

Did not like the h; she had a real attitude problem, and was occasionally judgmental and somewhat immature. A rare romance book where the OW, forced to live in poverty, is actually more sympathetic than the h!
