In the story "Tangerine" by Christine de Rivoyre, the author shows how Paul has to adapt. In the beginning of this book, Paul and his family moved down to Florida. He is not used to this place and his new school. Throughout the story, it shows what Paul had to do to make this new place feel like home.
[Read in French] This is a novel about a luxury Paris hotel in the 1950s run by a tightly knit family headed by an old matron. It became somewhat famous in France as "feminist" at the time, presumably because it described freely the heroine's sexual desires. More interesting is the abnormally close relationship between a brother and a sister, who sleep in the same bed in their twenties. There are chapters in the first person (the heroine), as well as the third person, but the transitions are smoothly handled. If you put yourself in the time period, the psychology of all the characters is very well described, and the author's original style in French is beautiful.
Tangerine is an amazing book that proves that even though you have a disability you are still able to participate in any activity. Even if you are wearing glasses you can still be capable of playing sports. In this book the main character was restricted from playing soccer because, he wears glasses. Luckly in the end he was able to participate and continue to pursue.
