As a teacher, I was thrilled to read a book that combines sports, friendship, music, and dogs. Children have such diverse interests, and The Adventures of Owen & the Anthem Singer has something to keep nearly every child's eyes glued to the pages. The illustrations are colorful, adorable, and captivating. The text is playful and bright. It is a book both parents, teachers, and children will enjoy reading at home, in the library, or in the classroom. Owen's Lesson at the end is an important one for children (and adults) to hear.
A 5 star read with 5 star illustrations - I am looking forwarding to learning more about Owen and Todd's adventures.

What an absolutely adorable children’s book! This is a must read for little ones who love dogs. This is a story about a little Pug named Owen who lives in Boston. Owen has little cute doggie friends and a human friend named Todd. Owen and Todd are excited to perform at an upcoming hockey game. Todd will be singing the National Anthem and Owen is going to drop the puck. This story encourages you to practice and believe in yourself and then you can accomplish anything! Work hard and follow your dreams! The pictures in this book are very cute and I think kiddos will love them 😊

The Adventures of Owen & the Anthem Singer by Todd Angilly and Rachel Goguen is a heartwarming tale about believing in yourself, your friends, and your dreams. In the story, Owen, and adorable pug, is best friends with Todd, a singer who has been practicing since he was a young child. Owen and Todd both have big dreams that include participating in a professional hockey game. (To avoid spoilers, I will not get into details of the plot.)
This adorable story sends a strong message to children that practice and hard work are important parts of achieving your goals and that there is nothing wrong with dreaming big. I would highly recommend this 5 star read to teachers, parents, and libraries throughout the world. Although it is set in Boston the lessons and warmhearted message of the story transcend location.

The Adventures of Owen & the Anthem Singer by Todd Angily and Rachel Goguen is the perfect children’s book for both hockey fans and dog lovers. More specifically, Bruins fans will love to see the familiar face of their team’s national anthem singer illustrated alongside the adorable pug named Owen as they both conquer big challenges. Whether it be playing hockey with his fellow doggy friends, watching cartoons before taking a nap, or gearing up to watch his favorite players warm-up, Owen the pug is always embarking on an adventure. One adventure that Owen is not sure he can handle, however, is dropping the puck before his favorite team’s big game. Luckily, he has Todd by his side as they both encourage one another to remember an important lesson: “if you want to achieve something, you really need to work at it”. For Owen, he wants to achieve his goal of dropping the puck, and for Todd, he wants to successfully sing the anthem for a huge crowd. Through practice and hard work, they are able to achieve their goals and enjoy the big game, which their team wins of course!
This children's book is perfect for kids who are just learning to read or for parents who hope to raise future hockey lovers. The bright illustrations and super cute doggy drawings are sure to capture the attention of children while also employing enough dialogue to keep them engaged throughout the story. Through both of these elements, along with a meaningful message about the importance of hard work in achieving goals, The Adventures of Owen & the Anthem Singer is a great addition to any parents bookshelf.
