I'm the author of forty+ books for children, including the best-selling Twas the Evening of Christmas, I Wonder: Exploring God's Grand Story, The Wonder That is You, and six popular series: Love Letters from God, Snuggle Time, Little Mole, Twas, Good News and Bedtime Blessings.
Here's my little story...

Although I live in Michigan, USA, I was born and raised in a little village in northern England.

I grew up in a big old house, with two wonderful parents and seven siblings. My dad was the one who introduced me to the gospel. My mum was the one who encouraged me to work with children.

And at primary school, my teacher was the one who urged me to write. One day a week, I was one of the lucky few withdrawn from the classroom to sit in big, comfy armchairs in the teachers' lounge. There, in front of a roaring log fire, with pencil and paper at the ready, I would write.

Four long decades later, I would find myself living across the pond, married to a wonderful man, mum to four adult children and three daughters-in-law, and grandma to three bouncing boys and one gorgeous girl. And as if all that wasn’t blessing enough, I somehow became an author, despite giving up on my first book halfway through.

And if you would have told me then, that this book would one day become a series, that I would begin a second series, and a third… I never would have believed you. The only possible explanation is that our great God is able to do immeasurably more than all I could ever ask or possibly imagine.

And to God alone, be the glory.

Author Glenys Nellist has another winner! This enchanting new book shares the story of God's Creation and it's the perfect way to teach small children about this miraculous event. The rhyming text is both fun and educational, and children will absolutely love the beautiful illustrations of the moons, stars, plants, animals, and of course, Adam and Eve. The final pages show all of His creations and the words that He uttered at the end of the sixth day. "Then God looked over all he had made, and he saw that it was good!" Genesis 1:31

Good News! It's Creation! is a sturdy board book that targets toddlers, but I can see it being used by Sunday school teachers when they teach their students the Creation story. Parents and grandparents, grab a copy so that your little ones can learn of God's love for all that He made!

I received a complimentary copy from the author and publisher. There was no obligation for a positive review. These are my own thoughts.

I love how this book was based on scripture in a way that was captivating for toddlers. For those who hold a 2CV conviction, this book is also safe for you. The artwork was stunning, as well.

Then God looked over all he had made, and he saw that it was very good! Genesis 1:31

It is good to see the goodness of God. This book encourages parents and children to see the goodness of God in creation. It is good news. God cares for us and this world. The illustrations are vivid colors and it is a good reminder to see. Highly recommend.

My 15-month-old son loves the fun and bright colorful pictures (especially the animals and smiling sun), and I love the message! Glenys Nellist tells the good news of God’s creation in beautiful rhyming verse. We are a fan of all of the Good News! books, but this one is definitely a favorite. This books is great for babies and will grow with them! I love that she includes a scripture verse at the end of each book.

Brightly colored illustrations pop from the page, helping to make Good News! It’s Creation! a delight for young eyes and developing minds. I love everything about this sweet book. The verses and the illustrations both share the Good News! Each page starts with "GOOD NEWS!" that little ones can repeat on each page to engage them and emphasize that creation is good! Another fantastic book for the home library, church library, and nursery.

Good News! It’s Creation! is a children’s book written by Glenys Nellist and illustrated by Lizzie Walkley.

This sweet little book, designed for ages 1-4, introduces children to the earth that God created. The rhyming patterns, beautiful illustrations, and gorgeous color combinations will draw little ones in, and teach them all about God’s creation.

My Thoughts: This book is so cute! I love the illustrations-they really are beautiful. This book would make an absolutely wonderful Christmas present for littles, or be great for a new baby gift.

My son (who is nine) even enjoyed the book-especially the cute little ants!

I would like to thank Our Daily Bread Publishing for providing me with a free digital copy of this book in exchange for my review. Thank you!

Good news! This book was absolutely lovely. Not only does it attest to the Creation story, but also shows how creation glorifies God. The illustrations were adorable. They were bright enough to keep my infant son engaged, but have so many animals, etc to keep his interest as he gets older too. The repetition of “Good News!” and rhymes on each page kept his interest and made it fun to read. And I love the idea of him learning these easy worshipful sayings that we can easily use in our everyday lives even as he’s so young. I already have another Good News book on the way because I enjoyed this one so much.

While the idea of the book was good and the illustrations are attractive, I was left with the feeling that something was missing. The story presented by the author did not start from the first day of creation. This left me with the feeling that I came in during the middle of the conversation. Therefore, I was disappointed.

As I would have preferred the author to present the entire story of creation, this is not a book I would recommend for personal use with children or even as I gift.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book provided by the publisher and Net Galley but the thoughts expressed are my own.

A super sweet book for children! Our children absolutely enjoyed reading this book. I would like to give them a hardback copy to hold and read on their own. For those looking for good books to fill the nursery shelves, this would make a great addition to it. The book is full of colorful illustrations, good messages, and set to a child’s understanding levels. It would also make a good gift for baby showers, children or grandchildrens birthdays, or even get a couple copies just to pass on to children in your life.

I received a copy of this book as a gift. I received no financial compensation for reviews.

This review is for “Good News! It’s Creation” By Glenys Nellist

A lovely book for young kids. Creation is always a perfect story for kids introducing them to so many parts of our beautiful world, and paired with Nellist’s lyrical lines we learn that God made it all. The illustrations are captivating with beautiful colors and scenes of space, mountains, under the sea and jungle life.
I love the reminder that all these things in creation are good news, of a world made with purpose and love.
I would recommend it for your young kids and home library!

This book has amazing illustrations of God’s creation. I love the beautiful rhyming verses describing the Good News as seen in creation. This series is such a breath of fresh air compared to some of the children’s books I’ve seen recently. Gleny's Good News series should be a part of every child’s library.

This book, like all of Glenys', has such a wonderful message of the creation story with beautiful rhythm and rhyme, gorgeous illustrations, and it will be the perfect story to share with little ones on your lap! My own children loved identifying what had been created in the depictions on each page and then listening to the beautiful verse for the page. Such a great read for the young children in your life!

I loved the images in this book, they were stunning!

I like the rhyming nature of the book and thought it was a great way to tell the story of creation. My daughter is 5 and has been learning about this at school so it was a hit with her, she goes to our local Catholic Primary school and is really enjoying learning the RE side.

It is 5 stars from me for this one, perfect for children right from a very young age.
I thought it was a fab little book! Very highly recommended!

When something is good, you just gotta celebrate! And this book helps kids do just that.

It's so fun how the creation itself is celebrating how God made it. Lovely rhythm and rhyme as always from this author.

I could see parents or teachers extending this book by repeating the refrain when encountering nature or when talking about how wonderfully each child is made.

Good news! It's creation!

After reading Good News! God Loves You! I had to check out It's Creation. This is a lovely introduction to creation. While some of the images don't quite line up with the timeline (space being made, and then space filled on another day), it does give a good flow of God as Creator of all things - and that all He made is very good!

This Book Will Become a Favorite!

The words will fill their hearts and the illustrations will capture their eyes.

Bedtime at our house was usually when my kids pulled out their favorite books. This would have been one of them. Partly because it is short but meaningful and also visually it would allow them to explore the pages.

Perfect for gift giving!

“GOOD NEWS!” Shouts each part of creation in this joyful board book celebrating God’s incredible design. The story focuses on creation itself, not later events. It ends with Adam & Eve in the garden and God looking over all he has made and pronouncing it good. Little ones will love to help tell the story by celebrating “Good news!”

Sweet illustrations, catchy text. Thankfully avoiding masculine pronouns for God in the main text. “He” only Used on the final page where scripture strictly quoted. I loved the way Adam and Eve are celebrated in their nakedness and that they were not pale skinned and blonde haired.
