Nadin has also written several books of juvenile fiction. These include two books for the Oxford University Press "Project X" series designed to encourage boys to read.
Nadin previously worked as a policy writer for the Labour Party (UK).In 2001, she became a special adviser to Tony Blair.
As a child I buried myself in books both at home in Essex and at my grandparents’ houses in Cornwall, where I spent a large part of my time, and where many of my stories are now set. Books and later films were an escape not just from where I was but who I was, which, as I saw it, was pretty much a geek. They gave me the freedom to become someone else, from George in the Famous Five to Velvet Brown winning the Grand National to Baby dancing the Chachacha with Johnny Castle.

My 8 year old picked this for me to read when I couldn't decide what to read next. 40 years old and I giggled my way through this. 😆

“The Worst Class in the World in Danger” is a World Book Day 2022 book about the worst class in the world (which is not the Bash Street Kids it would appear).
It starts with a load of pen-pics of the main characters in the story (including Stanley who is narrator). The text from the pen-pics is repeated when the characters are introduced into the story, so no real need for this section. After that the story begins. Or you join in when the action is at its highest, and then the story goes back to the beginning. The Worst Class in the World are 4B of St Regina’s Primary. They have a rivalry with 4A whose “class captain is Eustace Troy, who is president of chess club, first violin in the school orchestra and team leader on the Shining Examples competitive spelling squad. [4B’s] class captain is Bruce Bingley, who can only burp the national anthem.”
One day a special guest comes to the school, “Mavis Grady, Danger Lady, who is very famous for doing lots of dangerous and adventurous things and writing about them”. Class 4B have her autobiography and one lucky child can win it, all they have to do is write their own autobiography, and the most interesting wins. The teacher has to add a caveat that it has to be true. Cue Stanley and his best friend Manjit’s madcap attempts to come up with a fool-proof plan to win that autobiography, all probably doomed to failure.
“4B may be the worst class in the world. But I like it.”
Overall the book is okay, for younger newly-confident readers, has good artwork along the way, and is a nice introduction to the series, plus it doesn’t cost that much as it’s a WBD book. 4/5 stars.

Imagine being in a class at your school that has a reputation for being the worst class and that the reputation is very much deserved. When your school has a visitor with a book out where they talk about their exciting, dangerous and adventurous life, it becomes a chance for your class to prove they are the best at something but can they really ever overcome that reputation they already hold for being the worst?
This book is very much aimed at younger readers (I would say around 7 years old) and is one that is likely to keep them entertained. I went into this one knowing it was a World Book Day piece and my first experience of this author and so overall I found this to be something I can see people enjoying. I did find it to be somewhat annoying to find repeating of information sometimes and this detracted a little from the overall read but I still think it is a really good one for younger readers out there.

Watch the words you use and what you say, the right chaos can be started by the most innocuous of challenges. Start a challenge on the most adventurous things done in real life can lead to stupidity and chaos. Sausages superglued to foreheads and more, such a mix of personalities. It is a fun whirlwind of a book but I don't think I will be reading more of the series.

A hilarious children's book! A story about a celebrity guest who is 'adventurous and dangerous' inspiring the children of 4b to have their own adventures.
