This book is a compilation of lectures given by the author in 1953 on the subject of "Judaism Between the Testaments". It traces the development of the Jewish religion during the crucial centuries that followed the close of the Biblical era. In that period decisions were taken which determined the whole course of Jewish life throughout the succeeding ages down to the present.
Abraham Cohen was a Jewish-British scholar. He was the editor of the Soncino Books of the Bible and also participated in the Soncino translation of the Talmud and Midrash. He attended the University of London and Cambridge and was a minister of Birmingham Hebrew Congregation from 1933.
