I sold my first television script, The Munsters, while still in college, yet girls continued to ignore me. A short time later I became the youngest staff writer for The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, earning an Emmy nomination which I’ve never quite lived up to. My producing and writing credits range from The Hollywood Squares to All in the Family, Sanford and Son, What's Happening, Gimme a Break, The Garry Shandling Show and way too many unsold pilots like, Who Needs Friends?! and The al-Qaida Comedy Hour. I am now retired and writing books from an island in the Caribbean. I’m sorry, but I couldn’t help it. All book profits go to support aspiring North Korean comedy writers, Blind Ping Pong Players and for a new typewriter.
It's a fun little book whether you're wanting to move to the island of Roatan or just planning a visit. Contains a few great suggestions, but this book must have been taken from a blog or Facebook page as there are bold "links" to follow on almost every page. Just a little frustrating to have to search up the information the author left out. A slightly humorous and somewhat informative book about the island of Roatan nonetheless.
I read this before a trip to Roatan and found it to be amusingly accurate. Good read if you’re considering retirement or just a vacation on this beautiful island.
What is it with spaces before and after apostrophes? You ' re? Can ' t? Anyway, very quick read, I learned some valuable input. However, there was too much referring the reader to a Facebook group for my taste. It felt lazy. One of the groups mentioned I can not find for the life of me. Because the author wrote the TV script for my most beloved 'The Munsters', he gets another star. If you're planning or interested in visiting or moving to Roatan, Honduras... this $10 Kindle book is likely worth your time, tho most all of it can be found using the search feature in a busy FB group.
'Ted Bergman sold his first television script, The Munsters, while still in college, yet girls continued to ignore him. A short time later, he became the youngest staff writer for The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, earning an Emmy nomination, which he's never quite lived up to. His producing and writing credits range from The Hollywood Squares to All in the Family, Sanford and Son, What's Happening, Gimme a Break, The Garry Shandling Show and way too many unsold pilots like, Who Needs Friends?! and The al-Qaida Comedy Hour. Ted was born and grew up in Los Angeles. He has lived on the Island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas and in the Northern California wine country. Now retired, he is writing books from the Honduran island of Roatan in the Caribbean.'
Been living on Roatan for the last 3 years, 6 months at a time at different locations, and this book is describes exactly how life is there for gringos! I couldn’t stop laughing, especially about the road driving! Spot on, Mr. Ted!
Finally! A book about living on Roatan, minus the pretense! I enjoyed every antidote, especially those about the friendly and helpful people who live there. Every location has its pros and cons, and this book gives an honest review of both. I can’t wait to retire here!!
Exactly as described. This book takes you through a first hand experience of moving to Roatan with charm, humor, and honesty. Helpful for shorter visits as well as it talks about beaches, food, places to stay, etc.
