Such an easy and good read ! It has been some time since I read the first book but I was back in this world from the first few chapters.
It was easy to picture all the things that happened!
And I could figure out some things with help from some clues, where it were heading, but the ending - I would have never guessed that (like the last sentence)!
And of course a cliffhanger but such a good one! I tried to continue the book - like - three our four times but it didn't change page 🤣
I needed this read! So good!

There are some books that capture your imagination, that take hold of you and refuse to let go. That have you hanging on every word, every detail, that leave you drooling and desperate for more. That's how I felt when I read the first book in this series and I can confirm that book 2 took me even further! More feels, more drooling, more.... everything!!!! Simply magnificent! The cunning way the author draws one in, building the characters, twisting the plot, leaves one gasping as the story unfolds, tantalising, teasing and explosive! I've read many books where the characters are divine but my word, Serena and Lazarus are characters to die for! So different, their personalities are some of the strongest I've come across.
Oh heavens do I love Serena! Always scheming, always trying to pull a fast one! I guess I would too if I was stuck for a month, locked in the Demon Lord's apartment with 2 guards. Granted, they're her friends, but still....Oh, why is Serena locked in the apartment? Well, you see, she withheld vital information, information that could get her killed or worse, so Laz didn't see another alternative. And boy was he mad! At her, at the information he discovered, really mad! Serena is no walkover, no matter the circumstances, the situations she finds herself in, are usually her own doing and she REALLY puts herself into the most horrific situations! She's such a badassed MC, stubborn, strong, conniving, a true survivor. She has everything under control, or so she thinks, until she falls firmly on Laz's radar and her radar goes wonky! I just adore the two of them.
Laz is such a sensitive demon. Contradictory? Nah... He might be Lucifer's son but he's nothing like him. Except, with these revelations about Serena, he's barely able to contain his demon and if he loses it, well, all sorts of bad things are likely to happen! The saying "she spoiled me for others" has taken a whole new meaning for Laz, a very literal one! What was great was that it is from both POV's, adding to the fullness and understanding of the story, really getting into their heads where everything is laid wide open for the reader to view.
I love the easy light yet very evocative writing style. There were so many "awww" moments, notably from Laz, I couldn't help myself, this scary, all powerful Demon is more humane and caring than most humans, trying to right a wrong his father did many years ago but he's not really making much progress. The action, oh boy is there major action, so full of drama and tension, the explicit sexual scenes were so yummy, so beautiful, so full of tenderness.
Gosh, I'm all over the place with this review, my brain is jumping from one magnificent scene to another, having soaked this book up like a sponge, every detail firmly imprinted, it refuses to let me go, burrowed under my skin, even though I've finished reading the book, that's the effect it has! Angels, Demon's, Shifters, Vampires, Witches and an Earth that has been abandoned by all except the supernatural, can it get any better than this??? Doubtful....

I have waited so long for this book to come out and I made the mistake of starting it whilst I was at work and I can say that this book had my attention because I barely got any work done today and I managed to finish it before the end of the work day! lol. The writing and world building of these books is incredible and the fact that she had to be sure that Serena never mentions or even thinks about that fact that she’s not technically human even though that’s what she leads everyone else to believe. And that ending!!!! How dare we be left on that kind of cliffhanger, idk if I can make it till book three is released, I need to know what happens NOW!!! This book was honestly incredible and such a quick and easy read. I cannot wait until book three comes out!

Serena finds herself captured by the Demon Lprd after he learns some new things about her. He refuses to let her go, forcing her to live with him just to keep her in his sights. While he's very tempting, Serena has to find a way out and keep the secrets she has hidden.
I love Laz and Serena together. They have a chemistry together that just works really well, despite their situation. He is actually really sweet with her, and has a lot of moments where you just go "awwwwww" (like when he says she spoiled him for everyone else). For a demon, he shows a lot more emotion and caring than I would have thought possible.
The first half of the book is very slow to start. Everything seems a little dragged out, the pacing is off kilter and you just feel like your constantly waiting for action to happen. With that being said, the last half of the book really amps up the pace and you finally get the action you were searching for in the first part.

WOW!!! Everything about this story is amazing. The imagery, the world building, the fantastic characters and the suspenseful storyline just pulls you in and makes it difficult to leave. I was riveted to my seat, biting my nails from all the anticipation of what would happen next, and then left breathless by the end.
Serena is such a badass woman that doesn’t give a crap what anyone thinks. I loved her attitude and the way she deals with everything. She definitely had me giggling with her crazy inner dialogue. Then when you add in a sexy demon lord who happens to know her secrets, you get undeniable sexual tension and explosive chemistry. Yes please!
Fantastic story filled with action, suspense, emotional turmoil, drama, violence, secrets and delicious chemistry.
And after that ending, I can’t wait for the final book in this trilogy.

The ending had me speechless! I don't think I have been this anticipated for the upcoming book in a series in a long time.
I won't lie, I feel like right up until the last few pages I was going to give this book a 3.5 instead, but the last few pages were so good. I want to write an essay on it or talk a friend's ear off about it. It was that good.
Now, let's talk about what I didn't like. I will admit the spice in this book wasn't my thing. It involved . I was able to just skim bits and pieces. I also felt like the predictability for some parts of this book was just obvious. Even with that being said, the ending clearly made up for it.
Again, I'm ready for the next book! I'm even more excited this go around than I was after finishing the first!

Same as with book 1 in this series - I'm not a big fan of demons and those supernatural species. But something about this makes it interesting. Of course she is special somehow and I had my suspicions early on. I'm not really surprised.
The writing makes it easy to imagine everything happening and their thoughts and emotions feel genuine. Too quick a read cause something is missing. I could have had a bigger strain in their relationship. Or more of an investigation before visiting the Vampire Queen. Anything. It ended way too fast.

Pleasantly surprised on how great this sequel is in the series! Loving the storytelling and mysteries that abound! Some very fun naughty scenes in this one and the slow romance building is quite refreshing since I am not a fan of insta. So far this has managed to stay original despite the well covered genre and the universe is a unique one with lots of great and interesting supporting characters. I will read book 3 as soon as it comes out and definitely want to check out more of this author’s work.

Book two and we carry on from where we left off and Serena finds herself stuck in a deal with the hot and sexy demon lord himself. It’s exciting, it’s thrilling and it’s a little steamy and spicy but it is so good as we follow Serena as she strives to unravel the mysteries and secrets surrounding her. Dark, intense and oh so captivating, our headstrong heroine is in for one hell of a ride and that ending!! OmG!

Wow! I love this series, how much fun it is and how imaginative Lee is. Bringing to life all the different magical districts to explore and all the nooks and crannies within!
Loved Serena and Laz, as always, but Secrets in the streets is right; this was all about secrets kept from each other and themselves!
If you loved the Bargainer series or any demons / supernatural PNR, you will love Lee's fresh spin on the stories with plenty of twists in the tales!

solid book 2
Book 2 started a little slow for me, however the last half will not disappoint. Having secrets in the title is perfect because oh the secrets that they keep. From each other, honestly themselves (maybe not secrets but definitely denial), and with an explosive ending that was set up perfectly throughout the book.

I am in a quandary
I liked the action and plot a lot.
My quandary is the “intimate” scenes. They were well written. It’s just that I think the story would be far more interesting with an expansion of the storyline. It really did not add much to the characters.
The story is good.
Ends on a cliff hanger. Not too happy either that.

Picking up right where Book 1 cliffhanger left us. Wow. This was intense. Serena is my favorite she’s a give no f3cks, survivor attitude. And no her secret is in the hands of one very sexy Demon Lord. 🤤🤤🥵.
This was every perfect bit of character building, information dump, and spicy mixed in that the pages flew by and I ended at a damn cliffhanger once again.

This was good, a little shorter than the first. Im not a fan of cliff hangers, but the 3rd book is out so its fine. What a twist! I should’ve, but did not see that coming… Im looking forward to book 3 and see how this all wraps up.
🌶️ 4/5 Spice in this one kicks up a notch. Its funny reading the internal battle going on inside the demon lords head when he thinks about the MFC. The voyeurism was interesting to read as well 👀

I received Secrets In The Streets (Demon Pact#2 by Kacey Lee through StoryOrigin and enjoyed reading this spicy book and look forward to reading next in series. Book 2 is expected to be released on Amazon on Feb 10, 2023. Serena had almost gotten away until the Demon Lord read a report on her blood and discovered she wasn't what she was thought to be. Now he won't let her out of his sight. Odds aren't in her favor but she still has secrets he doesn't know about.
