A small town friends-to-lovers romance about former high school classmates who reconnect on a visit to their hometown. Releasing February 10th!
Nick Kanfield was the high school valedictorian, my math tutor, and the oldest Kanfield brother, which makes him a celebrity in Haydon Falls, home to the famous Kanfield Orchards. I always liked Nick, but only as a friend. My teenage heart was drawn to bad boys. I even married one.
Fifteen years later, I’m newly divorced and back in Haydon Falls for a visit when I run into Nick at the airport. I can’t believe how much he’s changed. Grown-up Nick is hot, with muscles, a chiseled jaw, and a sexy smile that has me stumbling on my words.
He asks me to dinner, then drinks, and soon we find ourselves spending the weekend together. I feel like we’re dating, especially after what Nick did to me on my mom’s kitchen counter. (She’d kill me if she knew!)
When the weekend ends, I’m disappointed when Nick insists we’re just friends. I thought we were becoming so much more. I assume whatever we had together is over until Nick shows up for our high school reunion and asks me to be his date. I’m shocked, but even more shocked when he tells me his news. Just wait till he finds out mine!

Nick and Lindsey went to the same high school. Actually nick was her math tutor. Now its 15 years later. Lindsey is back in town to see her mom and friends. Nick is in town to see his family. They both arrive at the airport at the same time. One look and they are very much excited to see each other but they don't want the other to know.

Excited for this new series from Allie! Per usual, I continue to love Allie’s books and her style of writing, and this book was another hit. Lyndsay was one of the popular girls in high school and ended up marrying the football star. But life wasn’t all it was promised or cracked up to be, and fifteen years later, she returns to her hometown for a visit after the finalizing of her divorce and no clue on what to do with her life or how it got that way. Nick was a geek in high school, and once he left, he worked hard to become a skilled lawyer and shed his geek exterior. They used to have a crush on each other when Nick tutored Lyndsay, but knew nothing would come of it, but years later everything has changed, and when they run into each other at the airport, Nick finally shoots the shot he’s waited over a decade to take. Lyndsay had always had a crush on Nick, but never thought he would go for a girl like her, but as an adult, she decides to go for it after everything she thought she wanted in life wasn’t the case. This was a sweet storyline, with the addition of some drama from Lyndsay’s ex-husband, and in the end, they get the HEA they should have years earlier. I can’t wait to see where Allie takes this series! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This was such a fun and lovely read. Just what I needed, it has some emotional moments, but nothing extremely heavy for me. I loved how the book was dual POV, this way you could understand both characters their motivations and their actions. Lyndsay had a lot to offer as a character and it was beautiful to see her character development throughout the book. Same goes for Nick, he also received an important life lesson if you ask me and it was great to see him get to that realization. The book had many side characters which were so much fun as well. Diane has to be one of my favorites, because she always tried to be the voice of reason or the devils advocate and it is good for Lyndsay to have that sort of friend. The small town vibes were great as well and I loved that there also was a bit of fake dating involved. The writing and pacing were good, I never felt bored whilst reading and it did not have me checking how much I still had to read. Overall, a great small town romance with a bit of fake dating.

Beautiful second chance romance for Lyndsay. Nick always had a crush on Lyndsay while on high school. She was the head cheerleader, beautiful and dated the football quarterback but she’s always been very sweet and nice. Nick use to tutor her in high school and always had a crush on her. What he doesn’t know was that she had a mild one too and enjoyed talking with him. They run into each other several years later and he’s a lawyer and she’s recently divorced. They rekindle their friendship and take it from there. Everyone is rooting for them except for the horrible ex that Lyndsay has; he’s never grown up and it shows in his actions. These two are a perfect match for each other and make changes to be together.
This small town romance is charming and irresistible! Nick and Lyndsay are the perfect blend of sweet and spicy, and I cannot wait for more of the Kanfield Brothers series! Five stars for a delightful read!
