4.5 stars (I have only read one good chunk of the second part, Nonassociative structures)

The Nonassociative structures part was written jointly by Kuz'min and Shestakov, and the second's author usual easy-going way of explaining things can be happily felt in it. There are lots of important results sprinkled over the text, without unnecessary proofs, but with some of them. In particular, the comparisons of the different nonassociative theories between themselves and with Lie theory are illuminating. Most importantly, it includes the theory of Malcev algebras, which is difficult to find in any book, and not only that, but includes the results of the Russian school, which are the most important of all (particularly, those of Filippov on prime Malcev algebras).
