11:30 p.m.: “I’ll read just one more chapter” … then suddenly it’s 3 a.m.
Good stories. Each book stands alone, but each book leads directly to next book, so the 4 books can also be read as one long story. Writing so-so. Author should avoid Americanisms and “class” language in dialogue—so poorly done and inconsistent that it’s jarring at times.

Four Book Series

For Mature readers

4.5 Stars - 1/2 star taken off because of editing issues not addressed. The author stated in her notes after book #1 that as a person who is from England and who still lives there, she faced challenges with the language in a story about Americans and using American styles. She stated that she had American friends who helped. For the most part, this was well done. The colloquial wordings of people from Florida was very well done. Example: "Me and JT...." Any English Teacher would cringe, since the correct usage would be "Jt and I...."
However in book 2 and even more in 3 and 4 her American editors must not have been as diligent since there were repeated distracting English spellings such as tyre instead of tire, kerb/curb, favourite/favorite, mould/mold, civilised/civilized, etc.

There are other random grammar mistakes, but I don't want to exhaust anyone reading this any more than I already have.

*Sex
*Violence
*Suspense
*Foul language

Main Characters:
Lori Anderson, a former saloon employee turned bounty hunter after her best friend was murdered.
JT, Bounty hunter who taught Lori everything she knows and who we realize quickly is the man she loves.
Setting: First 3 books Florida; 4th book Chicago
Present time
Quick plots summary - no spoilers:
Lori, who does not carry a gun for reasons of her own, draws the attention of some of the worst of the worst mobsters. With the reluctant help of JT, she brings about justice. However she consistently gets herself and others in danger. The twists and turns of the various plots are well-done.

Since this was a 4-book release, I'd assume this was a marketing choice to get more readers for the author, who is worthy of more readers. Hopefully word choices and random grammar mistakes will be addressed as the books are published individually.
Don't let my criticism stop you from choosing to read this collection. The books are entertaining, fast-paced, and enjoyable for those of us who like action/adventure/detective books.

On the face of it, the stories are entertaining. But they got worse as the series went along. My biggest complaint was the writing style. The author went from ‘British speak’ to what she thinks is ‘American speak’, and I thought it very disconnected and distracting. I found some of her American slang offensive. Sadly, there are plenty of grammatical and spelling errors. (I’m not counting her using British spelling for things like kerb/curb, or that she always uses the term torchlight instead of flashlight, but that just added to my frustration of the disjointed voice of the books.)
In the last book: ‘She didn’t response.’ Um, what? All in all, it was kind of a train wreck, but I finished it out of spite.

Here's a series of books about a stripper who quits her job and becomes a bounty hunter. Not the classiest or best written books, but I had a fhard time putting them down. Ms. Broadrib has a British and American background, and they get confused here in a jarring way. I mean, I could live with "police" being spelled "polis" throughout. However there is a painful section where the author is teaching us how to play poker. Not in Miami, Chicago, London, or Glasgow does a simple flush beat four of a kind.

Best for Last

The first three books were good but the fourth one is best by far. Although there is a lot of blood and mayhem in the first three, the last on is very good and the plot is extremely complex. The characters are great and the action furious and realistic . Great ending,!

Excellent series

I have to admit I stayed up late reading because these 4 books were just too intense to find a good stopping place. They were totally worth being tired when the alarm went off. Instead of binge watching I was binge reading. I wish the series continued.

I was so engrossed in this book, I did not want to put it down. It was written in such detail, I was living in it. I can't wait to read another very soon!

The books were OK. The storyline was interesting, but the interjection of children and relationships were a put off for me. I had trouble believing one could do what had to be done while thinking about other things all the time.
