The Smart Crow Never Goes Thirsty

According to a well-known Indian mythological tale, a thirsty crow after a lot of search finds some water lying in a container. Unfortunately the container is big and the water little, as a result the crow is not able to reach it to quench his thirst. The crow then displays a keen sense of creativity by putting pebbles in the container to raise the water-level and eventually drinks water to his heart's content. The times are becoming tougher and the crows smarter. Now, an even more creative crow avoids all the hard work of collecting pebbles and uses a straw, instead. Need is the mother of innovation. Work smart, not hard. You can't sit on your past innovations; there is always a more creative crow lurking around.

A nice primer on Creativity and Innovation for starters. The book provides more than a "glimpse" of the various concepts pertaining to the topic of creativity and innovation. Whether it's Kaizen or Lateral Thinking or Divergent Thinking or Blue Ocean, the readers get good insight into all. The author has done an excellent job in supplementing various concepts with relevant examples and case studies. There's a lot that's packed in this small package (reference to the length of the book which is about 94 odd pages) and those looking to get properly introduced to the topic and concept would enjoy every bit of the book. Lot of cartoons/ images are interspersed between the details/ description of the concepts and this renders the book more interesting. The book may not provide the readers with an in-depth analysis on the subject but provided enough to keep the readers glued.

This book is good for the managers. But one interesting story on creativity is worth reading in this book. This book is helpful to educators as well.
