In the United States, there are 25-50 active serial killers each year. Meet #51.
In the mountains of Bighorn, Wyoming, police discover the body of a middle-aged female in a remote area of Tongue River Canyon. Beside her charred remains, a block of wood, a silver bell, and a set of rosary beads.
When two more bodies turn up, authorities believe it to be the work of a copycat—an admirer of the serial killer known as 'The Apostle.' After targeting the Callahan family, leaving a trail of blood and tears in the mountains of Virginia, the Apostle vanished.
But now he's back. And he's made a friend.
There's only one thing worse than hunting a serial killer... Hunting two.
Shattered by the events of the past, one woman's quest to find the man who took everything takes an unexpected turn when she's pulled into the search for yet another killer... The Bighorn 'Reaper'. But it will take a crackerjack team of investigators, and her psychic abilities, to uncover the truth.
Because, to find the Apostle, they must first find his protégé.
He calls himself the Discpicle. And he has a story to tell...
⊰ Shadow Sisters Book One - The Apostle's Fury & Book Two - The Disciple's Fury by Quinn Noll ⊱
Holy Mother Fluffer Balls! 😳 Good freakin' grief Charlie Brown! I loved how smoothly Noll writes and adored the humour along the way. This lady has talent! She knows how to keep you in suspense, keep your heart beating and feels like you're part of the story in your mind. Description so well done that you picture it clearly. You're constantly craving to know what happens next! I read these two books back to back & I enjoyed every single moment. You cannot go wrong!
The Apostles Fury: Meet Katie & her dog cadaver Chance, who help in Virginia mountains to find bodies and bones. But Katie has a gift, she is able to see & feel the dead & their spirits, after her accident at six years old where she had died. In this particular investigation, she becomes a target including the one's she loves by an absolute madman who claims himself to be God's Apostle. With the help of FBI Devereaux this game will require them to be one step ahead before she becomes the ultimate prize.
The Disciple's Fury: In Wyoming, three bodies are found with some interesting artifacts that make police believe they have a copy cat on their hands - The Disciple. However, The Apostle seems to be back from before with this protege. By Katie using her gift, it will be the only way to hunt them both down & hopefully stop the massacre. But can she outwit not one, but two of them? Will she survive?
These books were enticing, captivating and I was left wanting even more! Noll is genius with her writing, the fabulous unique premise she has and fluff me! does she deliver with the thrills & suspense. Beyond yummy & satisfying this lady knows her stuff! I'm gobsmacked & stunned! Juicy as hell!
Quinn Noll has done it again! I read Disciple’s Fury in one sitting, couldn’t put it down. Quinn has the gift of words. She weaves a story full of characters that add more to the main storyline. I highly recommend adding this to your TBR list.
"Sometimes, the most terrifying monsters are those that dwell within the soul."
These words are printed alone on a single page even before the prologue, perhaps as a warning that the perfectly written psychological thriller The Disciple's Fury by prolific author Quinn Noll is not to be read lightly but to be fully digested into your being as the epitome example of how to write an all engrossing serial killer novel.
Book One, The Apostle's Fury, of the Shadow Sisters trilogy, left me jaw dropping numb by the shocking events and the true bravery of the writer to be so bold and leave her readers bewildered and distraught.
Now in this Book 2 we see the aftermath, the destruction left by the killer The Apostle but how can we possible handle more murder! Kate's sister Callie has some of Kate's psychic ability and as this thriller is very much a family affair Callie is still sensing death. When the killings multiply and each murder has an added clue left behind it soon is obvious The Apostle has a Disciple.
When you can't stop one serial killer how do you stop two? Well you get a vengeful sister and a hunky FBI agent together and let the genius and the sparks fly.
I read The Disciple's Fury until the sun came up and I learned two things: Jake has replaced Jamie Fraser as my book boyfriend and the last installment of this trilogy, The Final Fury, can't get into my hands fast enough.
I received a free copy of this book from the author for a fair and honest review. All opinions are my own.
Quinn Noll is an icon. She weaves a tale with such a grip you have no idea how tangled you are until you realize you forgot to breathe, or move, or adult for the day.
This is the story of revenge! In Book 1, the Callahan family was targeted by a serial killer that refers to himself as the “Apostle.” Book 2 picks up and moves to Wyoming where more bodies turn up. Investigators, police and friends team up with the Callahan family to answer the question if these new bodies are related to the Apostle murders or could it be a copy cat? They collect clues and uncover secrets along the way. There’s murder and secrets and confessions OH MY!
I CAN NOT WAIT for Book 3: The Final Fury!!! Do I own the paper backs? Yes. Will I also purchase a boxed trilogy? Also yes. Here’s hoping there’s a boxed set.
Here’s the thing. I have eclectic reading taste. I like murder. I like psychological thrillers. I like dark romance. I like spice. I like twisted. There’s absolutely no major triggers in this book. There’s no gruesome scenes. There’s no steamy spicy scenes. But the mystery. The story. It’s an easy 5 stars from me. Just go read it already.
So. I finished book two WAY faster than book one. Simply because I couldn't help myself. It's not everyday you find a sequel that is equal or even better than the first but this one definitely qualifies. I think you can really tell how the author came into her own and really felt the writing she was doing. Excellent characters, beautiful imagery, and a wonderful plot. (Also I'm a HUGE Marvel fan so the the little nods to Nick Fury and Captain America brought much joy) I cannot wait to read book three and see how this story ends! If you haven't yet definitely read book 1 The Apostle's Fury and then this one, you won't regret it
I love how Quinn Noll gained her confidence and wrote through this one liked she owned it—though she does. It's hard to create a series that continues going in ways that keep the readers entertained. But I feel like this sequel did just that. Pleasantly surprised by several things in the book, not giving away any details or spoilers, just read it for yourself. There were a few things that weren't my favorite bits but those were easy to skim over and overall, it was a very nice way to wrap it all up AND leave room for another book, which is totally the best part. Looking forward to book 3!
The author does it once again! In this second part, you get pulled into this amazing world that has been created and you grow to care about the characters in this series. It's got twist and turns you don't expect. Misdirection. I honestly thought I knew who are mystery bad guy was but I was wrong. Great book. Downloading the third one now.
Quinn Noll has done it again! Book 2 was as good if not better than book one. This is fast paced and kept me awake at night wanting to keep reading. I love how she introduced new characters into the story without the book losing the original feel from book one. Going to download book 3 now!!!!!
Wow! Book 2 is just as much as a page turner as book 1. I cannot wait to get my hands on book 3. So many twists and turns and just not expecting what comes next.
I love to read and I average 100 books a year. Rarely do I write a review but I have to with this one. I just finished book 2 and I love the fact that these characters are REAL No damsel in distress waiting for a tall dark handsome man to make everything alright. The women work on their own problems, they accept help when they need too. The men don’t rush in to be the hero, they get frustrated, take a beating in more ways then one and they cry. Yep Real Life Characters! And the storyline makes sense. No wondering WTH was that about or where did that come from? Truly seamless writing for real people. I have already purchased book 3 and can’t wait to get started!, Keep them coming Ms Noll!!!
This series is Amazing, it kept me on the edge of my seat, what is going to happen next… I can’t wait until the third book comes out, Quinn Noll keeps you in suspense!
The Disciple's Fury follows the aftermath of the events that take place in The Apostle's Fury: Shadow Sisters Book One. It is a paranormal, psychological crime thriller with dark elements and a romantic subplot. It is told in a third person omniscient pov. Some trigger and content warnings include SA, graphic depictions of violence, violence and cruelty against children, depression, and religious fanaticism. This book is gripping and very fast paced, and is more focused on the crime thriller aspects vs paranormal.
5/5 overall rating: I really enjoyed the psychological aspects of this sequel. The adversary vs adversary element kept me reading straight through. I also love the way the adversaries twist the bible and Grimm fairy tales.
4.5 stars only because I was taken back by how graphic this one was compared to the first book. But oh man. I’m so in love with the characters. And my heart hurts because I have to wait for the third book and I don’t want to wait lol I need it now!!! I ate this series up in a matter of days. I can’t get enough. 😍
SPOILER. (Kind of) It wasn’t necessarily the graphic detail of the victims as a whole as much as just the 15 year old girl… 💔 but, I still believe this book and series is nothing but brilliant
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Oh lordy!! Quinn has a way with words. Two out of three and I constantly find myself giggling, smiling, saying "oh hell", "think girl think", "oh sh*t" and so much more to myself. I love this trilogy so far and can't wait to dive in and devour the last book. I am also very sad that it is the last. You know it's good when you can't wait to keep turning pages but also need a second to savor them along the way. Highly recommend The Shadow sisters.
As always I’m impressed by Quinn Nolls novels - full of intrigue and her characters draw me in everytime - onto the last Shadow sisters series Final Fury
