With more than 2 million articles published annually in over 20,000 biomedical journals, Systematic Reviews is a valuable guide to assembling and using the best available medical research evidence. Systematic reviews are a vital link in the great chain of evidence that stretches from the laboratory bench to the bedside. This book will increase understanding of the important role that systematic reviews play in advancing knowledge.
This will help with understanding what a systematic review is and the role they can play in evidence based medicine. It can also help readers/consumers to understand what makes for a good review to be able to judge good from bad. It however is not very useful in how to conduct such a synthesis. Further, most of the chapters are available in paper form in Annals. Useful, but more as a guide to use rather than guide to doing. Is concise and easy to understand with great specific examples.
