SELF PUBLISH: A Guide for Every Parent and Grandparent to Publish a Book and to Help Their Child Publish Their First Book and Create a Business and Life of Their Dreams
As a homeschool mom, I incorporated the principles of self-learning, self-reliance, and financial responsibility in our sons’ education. The COVID-19 pandemic reinforced these principles. The pandemic emphasized the need to generate income without leaving your house, and how essential it is to have more than one source of income. My husband and I are implementing seven sources of income as a means of living and preparing our sons to do the same. One of those income sources is book royalties. For this reason, writing and publishing a book are requirements for my sons to receive their high school diploma. As a homeschooling parent, I can require that. Even if you do not homeschool, you can help your child begin their publishing journey.
Self-publishing accomplishes several tasks as well as achieve education to learn how to write correctly and to edit their work which require knowing the rules of grammar (English Grammar), how to express themselves through the written word (English Composition), how to research and confirm information and data (Social Sciences), and how to establish a self-publishing business (Entrepreneurship/Finance) because if you self-publish, you are a business owner. As parents, grandparents, and guardians, we can incorporate these skill-building activities into our children’s lives as well as our own.
In 2020, I published my first book, “Trials and Effective Teaching and Learning At Home”. Since then I have published books for others, including those over 50 years old, who have dreamed of becoming authors. What about you? If you are reading this, you have had a life. If you have had a life, your life is unique. Your life creates a story that is unique. Your story has a perspective that is unique. As an author, your words, your thoughts, your ideas will inform, entertain, encourage, or motivate others for years to come. In other words, you and your child will make history.
This book will guide you as you make history, hopefully not once, but over and over again. In doing so, you can create the business and life of your dreams and so will your child.
