Victim no more.

That’s the motto by which Bellamy Mann lives her life. Witnessing a gruesome crime as a teenager changes the entire course of her life.

Vance Madden is on the right side of the law. As a bounty hunter, he spends his days pursuing and apprehending fugitives.

But years of training could have never prepared either of them for what happens when their paths cross at a Vermont diner one morning. Following the tense showdown, Vance seeks to uncover more about his counterpart, but she leaves before he has the chance.

Drawn to more than Bellamy’s gorgeous exterior, Vance doesn’t give up. He knows that with persistence, he’ll make progress. But there’s a lot hidden beneath the surface of Bellamy’s hardened heart. And Vance reminds himself that sometimes, the best things can be found hiding in plain sight.

A.K. Evans is a contemporary romance author of over twenty published novels. While she enjoys writing a good romantic suspense novel, Andrea’s favorite books to write have been her extreme sports romances. That might have something to do with the fact that she, along with her husband and two sons, can’t get enough of extreme sports.

Before becoming a writer, Andrea did a brief stint in the insurance and financial services industry and managed her husband’s performance automotive business. That love of extreme sports? She used to drive race cars!

When Andrea isn’t writing, she can be found homeschooling her two sons, doing yoga, snowboarding, reading, or traveling with her family. She and her husband are currently taking road trips throughout the country to visit all 50 states with their boys.

At a young age Bellamy saw the negative side of love and has no intention of submitting herself to the same plight. She has spent her life helping the women who are most vulnerable which brings Vance into her life. She never intended to see him again, but fate had other ideas.

Vance is drawn to Bellamy from their first meeting, but he also knows that there is a lot about her he has yet to learn. He is supportive and understanding as he allows her to set the pace of their relationship until she realizes that letting him into her life wouldn’t be a mistake but letting him go would be.

This is a story about healing from the past and learning to trust not only other people in your life but yourself as well. Bellamy is cautious but Vance gives her the time and space to realize that her life is much better when he is in it.

FTC DISCLAIMER: I RECEIVED AN E-ARC FROM THE PUBLISHER THROUGH ONE OF A VARIETY OF SOURCES. I VOLUNTARILY OFFER MY HONEST REVIEW OF THE BOOK, THOUGH IT IS NOT EXPECTED OF ME! RECEIPT OF THIS BOOK IN THIS MANNER DOES NOT AFFECT MY OPINION OF THE BOOK OR THE CONTENT OF MY REVIEW!

I've had my ups and downs with this series, but this one was actually pretty good! I liked the vibe it gave off, reminded me of watching Dog the Bounty Hunter a few times. I especially liked how Bellamy was used to tie in two other of the author's series...it was just a hint dropped, but it pointed the way to finding those other books, and was done in such a way as not to be distracting from this story. I liked that we got to see Bellamy and Vance's relationship unfold and the bond that built between them. It was an engaging and entertaining story, and I'm looking forward to more!

Bellamy made me sad, and frustrated, and sad, and happy, and then proud. She’s been through something awful, at a pivotal time in her young life, and it definitely colored her view of the world and her choices for years. But Vance just may be the key to changing all of that. He’s smart. He definitely respects her, both as a man and as someone who recognizes confidence and ability. And he’s secure enough in himself to be whatever she needs along the way. Strangers? Okay. Acquaintances? Sure. Friends? Definitely. And when Bellamy’s ready for more, Vance is 100% there for that, too. He’s willing to go at her pace because he’s just not the kind of guy to push and force it. And it pays off in a big way.

Bellamy definitely needed to take her time to figure out what she wants. But when she thinks she’s lost Vance even as a friend, her mind and heart align and demand that she take a chance on something different. So she does. And whenever she’s feeling insecure or adrift, Vance is there to support her in every way. Luckily, Bellamy gives the same to Vance in return. These two work because they communicate, they’re patient, and they’re not playing games. So get ready for life as it can be for Bellamy and Vance, along with some names and places you’ll recognize from this author, because it’s a stop you’ll be glad you made in this series.

Bellamy witnessed something as a teenager which has a profound effect on her life. On one hand, she will do anything to help those most vulnerable, but on the other, she's not about to try and find a significant other since she's very closed off. Fate steps in and she comes face to face with Vance, who is drawn to her from the jump, but he quickly realizes that he's going to have a lot of patience when it comes to her. I loved the fact that Vance was totally on board with letting her set the pace, never to push her or give her ultimatums which made him perfect in my eyes. See, I know how harsh moments in our growing up years can mess a person up, and most people in the real world don't have the patience to stick with it. The underlying message of learning to trust will help heal from the past was beautiful & made me quite emotional but I'm not surprised since I LOVE this author so much & know her work. I also loved the bonus of getting to see people from previous books in this series make appearances, and so once again, this is another book from this very talented author that was perfect in my eyes! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I am enjoying the Road Trip series. Each book is as unique as the state it is based in. The stories are a quick read, and the characters are approachable and relatable. Vance and Bellamy have a great story to tell.

Bellamy is living her life her way. Events in her past have shaped the choices she makes today. She has convinced herself she is closed off to love. Yet a situation has put another in her path who could disrupt her beliefs and create havoc with her feelings.

Vance is a great guy, with a great sense of humor, his attraction to Bellamy is instant. Yet, he respects her boundaries. Will Vance give her the time she needs to grow and discover she is capable of a relationship and love?

Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

Vance and Bellamy's story is pretty sweet and suspenseful. I wished the author really got into Vance's career because I think that would've been interesting but I also liked that this is a quick read. I loved both of their characters and I think they're a great match. I finished it in just one seating. I enjoyed it.

Bellamy and Vance are so sweet together. Vance shows her the patience and understanding she needs to get past her fears. Bellamy is a badass heroine who doesn't need a man in her life to feels safe but finds she may really want one. This story shows a realistic progression of a relationship as opposed to meet and married in a month.

The Road Trip series is one that gives us stories full of emotions and couples that both together and individually learn to love themselves and one another. In Plain Sight is just one of those stories. A.K. Evans seems to have a way with words and storylines that has you hooked right from the start. The characters that she writes about are ones that you can relate to and cheer for.

A.K. Evans tells us the story of Bellamy who has been haunted by an event in her past that has had a direct effect on how she has lived her life. She had become a person that is determined to make sure that what haunts her does not happen to her. Bellamy does not do relationships, but is she really happy? She spends her life helping vulnerable women and this is where she meets Vance, a bounty hunter. When they keep bumping into one another, is it meant to be or is it just a coincidence? There is something about Bellamy that draws Vance to her but he senses that she has walls built up around her and her heart. When he tells her that he will give her all the time she needs, well that just melted my heart. Talk about being swoon-worthy. Can he get her to lower the walls and show her that he is a good guy? Bellamy starts to notice Vance in a different light and decides to give him a chance. Will this be a good decision? When danger rears its ugly head, how will things work out?

I thoroughly enjoyed reading In Plain Sight. The healing that Bellamy goes through and the way that Vance was by her side were perfect. I highly recommend picking up In Plain Sight and a chunk of time as you will be unable to put Vance and Bellamy's story down. I cannot wait for the next installment in this series.

In Plain Sight by A.K. Evans reminds us not to let the past dictate our future!

Bellamy and Vance both dedicate their lives to doing what's right. He's a bounty hunter intent on bringing people in for justice, while she's a victim advocate determined to help battered women live above victim mentality. After witnessing the effects of a toxic love while still in her youth, she became hyper vigilant to avoid love at all costs. She spent her time and energy becoming a badass to help others and completely closed herself off to most human interaction. No one ever seemed worth the risk, nor challenged her long held belief that her father is the only good man alive. Until Vance.

Vance meets Bellamy in a most unconventional way. He's smitten, intrigued and a little bit in awe, right away. She's unlike anyone he's ever known. Unfortunately she seems allergic to his advances. He knows there's something holding her back. It's ok, he's got patience to spare and he knows she's worth the wait.

I enjoyed this story about two really compelling characters. Vance was both a sweetheart and a bulldog with a bone when it came to Bellamy. I so appreciated how much he understood it was important she be allowed to come to him in her own time and own way. Most would've given up long before she came around. Bellamy was both a badass woman and a wounded bird. It took a long while but she finally let someone in and it was lovely to see. The story drug in the middle for me and I found myself skimming a bit, but the payoff was worth it. A good angsty read.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story!

This stand-alone story (like all the other Road Trip books) has all the things I want in a romance read:

A gorgeous, kind and protective man? ✔
A capable, beautiful and strong woman? ✔
Supportive, loving friends and family? ✔
Location-based details of life? ✔
The "Happy Ever After" perfect for them? ✔

Bellamy and Vance are easy to love characters, that have great chemistry. Her backstory is tough but her resilience is presented well. Vance is the perfect combination of intense and laid-back masculinity I love in a book boyfriend.

This author consistently provides engaging, steamy and original stories that are relatable and easy to love. Each story in the Road Trip collection has unique elements that transport a reader to the story's location, and that is exactly why I love this author and this collection.

Usually I suggest reading this author's works in order. Not the Road Trip books. Grab any one, and 'travel'. That said, Bellamy met some of this author's other characters along her way to becoming who she is, and I was glad I knew those as well. That made this read even better for me! Because these characters are so easy to relate to and love, they stay with you. When I see them in crossover stories, I get soo happy!

If it isn't clear by now (😁), I feel this author is one of the best romance writers in the market today.
Her catalog of books has something for everyone to enjoy. I encourage you to explore the originality in her other works.
I look forward to seeing what state is next!

Bellamy doesn’t date. After witnessing a brutal domestic abuse crime as a teen, Bellamy has spent her entire life building up her walls, being vigilant and helping other women learn how to defend themselves in case they ever found themselves in danger. But, when she crosses paths with Vance, she begins rethinking her life choices as fate keeps bringing them together again and again.

Vance isn’t sure why Bellamy is hesitant to date, but he knows that slow and steady wins the race and vows to give her the time she needs to prove that he is a good guy and is willing to put in the effort to show Bellamy she is worth it. but, will his persistence pay off or will friendship be all that Bellamy is ever willing to offer?

A small town romance with a slow burn, In Plain Sight shows that sometimes the love of your life is right in front of you without ever realizing it. The author does a great job explaining Bellamy’s hesitancy and how the event in her youth has really affected her entire life. I really loved that Vance was super sweet and a gentleman and willing to give Bellamy everything she needed. While the slow burn was a nice touch, I do wish there was a bit more action. I had hoped for a bit of suspense since the main characters met under strained circumstances and both hold jobs that could lead to some danger. Overall, In Plain Sight was a sweet romance. 4 stars.

Wow, just wow!

A.K. Evans has been taking her readers all over the country in her Road Trip Romance series and this time she is taking us to Vermont. Vance and Bellamy work together to take down a man in a diner trying to hurt his girlfriend. Bellamy is one badass woman and Vance is quite impressed. She takes off before he can find out anything about her but that doesn’t stop Vance from tracking her down and going to see her. Bellamy doesn’t date, ever! So she turns Vance down. Bellamy has a good reason why she doesn’t date. That doesn’t mean Vance likes it but he respects her decision. (This is something that I love about this book. A.K. Evans has him respecting her decision when a lot of authors have the man continue to pressure the woman.) As fate would have it they run into each other several times and finally become friends. It takes Vance getting shot to really make Bellamy see that she could see herself dating Vance. It doesn’t take long before they are inseparable. There is so much more that I could tell you but I would rather that you read this great book! This has quickly become my favorite Road Trip Romance book!

A.K. Evans Outdoes Herself Again with a New Road Trip Romance
There hasn’t been an A.K. Evans novel yet that I haven’t absolutely adored, and “In Plain Sight” is no different! Book 11 of the Road Trip Romance series takes us to small-town Vermont where we meet bada$$ beauty Bellamy Mann, a powerhouse who has dedicated her life to helping women learn to protect themselves, and sexy-as-heck bounty hunter Vance Madden. These two are thrown together in a heated and dangerous situation, and when they start running into each other at seemingly every turn, the chemistry ramps up to nuclear proportions. As I have come to expect, Evans gives us lovable characters with relatable backstories in a well-developed and entertaining plot that gives all those amazing feels…the heart-tugging awws, the pearl-clutching gasps, and every delicious thing in between. There is something so sweet and vulnerable about both the hero and heroine in this story that I just couldn’t put it down even if I wanted to! Hands down, my favorite Road Trip Romance to date and just further evidence to prove my opinion that A.K. Evans is brilliant!

In Plain Sight - Audiobook narrated by Lance Greenfield and Lia Langola

This was a sweet story with some light suspense. An entertaining listen with likable characters and enjoyable narrators. Bellamy is living life without a thought about finding love and working hard to help women gain the skills they need to protect themselves. Her past and work have skewed her views on love and men. Vance is a bounty hunter who was a strong, sweet, and sexy hero. Vance and Bellamy both come to the aid of someone needing help and afterward, Bellamy leaves without Vance getting her name, etc. Fate has them bumping into each other around town and they can't deny the connection. Bellamy is able to let him in little by little and when she realizes she wants him in her life, there is no turning back.

Overall, I enjoyed this story and it came with a sweet hea. I do wish we got more of Vance's work as a bounty hunter as part of the story though. It's well written with characters you want as friends. Lance Greenfield is always amazing and this was my first listen by Lia Langola and she was great as well.

Quick, Heavy Read

In Plain Sight is a quick, yet heavy read from A.K. Evans. I've only read one other road trip series book and this one was of the same vein, straight to the point. The books are a nice fit if you're looking for something quick to read.

While I'm not a fan of insta-love, I'll give Vance and Bellamy a pass since they needed to move things along. Vance is a bounty hunter, while Bellamy is a bad ass. They meet in the best way, however with her past, it's not going to be an easy task for Vance to get to know her better.

I liked both characters right off the bat. Bellamy made it obvious her mission was to help women protect themselves and I was dying to find out what secret her past held. Vance was a stand up guy, or so it seemed and I kept hoping I wasn't going to be proven wrong.

The book is well written and A.K. Evans packs a lot into a few pages. There's romance, action and a smidge of angst to check off all of the boxes. In Plain Sight reads as a standalone with a little epilogue to wrap things up.

Vance & Bellamy

A chance meeting doesn't describe the two working together to stop a dangerous situation. He was impressed and attracted to her but she slipped away before he could even get her name. Never fear, it seemed there were destined to meet again and again and again.

She doesn't date. She seems to be a strong independent woman. Still, witnessing a crime against someone extremely important to her in her youth has made her unable to trust any man but her father.

He's not giving up so easily. Patience is the word. Now that he's older and has seen his friends settling down. He wants the same, not casual one-night stands. She might just be someone he could have something with considering their connection every time they are near.

It is a touching love story showing patience can be a reward worth waiting for. Sometimes you don't have to go searching just look around you to find your dreams.

I really enjoyed this story! Bellamy is a survivor who is afraid to live her life. She is closed off with zero intention of letting anyone open her heart. Vance is a bounty hunter who crosses paths with Bellamy when a women is assaulted and they jump in to help. Bellamy fights any attraction she has for Vance really hard. She does not want to get into something she is comfortable with. But life happened, and she has to deal with her feelings quicker than she expected.

Bellemy’s character is strong, independent, and a fighter. I loved and admired her character. The story was romantic, and sweet. Vance and Bellemy are an adorable couple. They have everything you could want when it comes to a perfect romance. This is a book with a HEA, and lots of very sexy moments. In Plain Sight is a fantastic read that I would recommend to anyone!

Bellamy has a skewed view of what a relationship can be. Haunted by past events Bellamy is determined to help women feel empowered. She believes she doesn’t need a relationship because they only cause stress and heartache. Vance, not other hand, is ready to find love. When a chance encounter brings Bellamy and Vance together they suddenly find themselves in each others paths. Can Vance convince Bellamy that there are good guys out there? When an event rattles Bellamy to the core, she must decide if Vance is the real deal. I love how the author takes us on a journey through all the beautiful states and incorporates her stories throughout. The characters were honest and relatable. I think an author hits the mark when they Mae you frustrated, happy and sad all within the span of a couple pages. Definitely worth a read! I can't wait until the next adventure.

This is the eleventh book in this incredible series, and this is Vance and Bellamy’s journey. Vance is a bounty hunter who brings fugitives in for justice, while Bellamy refuses to become a victim after witnessing how toxic love can impact on lives, and after witnessing something she should not have, her life has changed forever. Bellamy spends her time helping vulnerable woman. Vance was drawn to Bellamy from the moment they cross paths, and he is super supportive and patient with her, allowing her to set the pace of their relationship. This is a beautifully written story which is emotionally charged, with intrigue, trust, healing, friendships, communication, and love, which leads to an addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Bellamy has been through a lot in her life. That trauma made her very wary of people and love. She grew exponentially through the story and finally grasped onto love.

Vance is a great character. He's funny, smart, he respects the heck out of individuals and respects Bellamy's boundaries. he may be disappointed but he won't demean her choices.

Bellamy takes her time to decide what is best for her and I felt a little bit heartbroken for her when she thinks that she has lost Vance altogether. But Vance is not about to let Bellamy feel that her opinions and feelings don't matter! They may face some drama together but there are no games between these two.

Perfect feel-good romance!

ARC Review of In Plain Sight by A.K. Evans
* * * * *
Talk about love at first sight in a diner while some lunatic has a knife to a woman's throat!

Vance wanted Bellamy the second he saw her. However the feeling isn't totally mutual.
Bellamy is a very reserved you woman who has a goal to protect herself but teach other woman to defend as well. Those wall she has up however are not letting any man in after a tragedy that still haunts her from the past.
Vance, however, is persistent.
A gentleman and totally awesome, but persistent.
But yeah I get the suspension with the constant running into one another. I would have my pepper spray at the ready LOL!

Enjoyable read with a happily ever after and steamy good time scenes.

As this author will tell you, the Road Trip series is not about couples meeting on a road trip, for me these stories are about emotional trips, to finally be able to face your fears about love, let them go and embrace what is waiting for you, A.K. Evans brings this out superbly in Vance and Bellamy's story. The instant connection from a fleetingly yet emotionally charged meeting sets the scene for this fast-paced, chemistry rich story, I felt the pain that Bellamy has lived with for years, and I applauded the woman she had become, so it was only fitting that it would take a man such as Vance to be the one to finally set her free.

What I love about the Road Trip books is they can all be read as standalone's, but they all have a great backbone.

Wow, can I just say that Vance is like the best of the best of guys out there? He is sweet, determined, but not in a creepy way. I loved how patient he was and really took the time to get to know Bellamy. While Bellamy made me a little frustrated at times, I could totally understand why she felt the way she did and the author did a great job with her character development.

All in all this book was so freaking sweet, with tons of spice thrown in. I definitely enjoyed the read and am 1/2 in love with Vance. Seriously, where can I find a guy like this?!? I give the book 4 outta 5 stars and enjoyed reading it!

PS: Thank you to AK Evans and Give Me Books PR for allowing me an advanced copy of the book to read and review honestly!

I received an ARC in return for an honest review.

Bellamy Mann is a self-reliant woman. After a tragic life event in her teens, she made the decision she’s not looking for love. Until Vance Madden shows up at the same diner as her. Over a couple weeks, the two of them have surprise encounters with each other, and get to know one another as friends. Though Vance wants to be more than friends, he’s patient and understanding with Bellamy’s decision. After talking with her family and friends, Bellamy begins to rethink her stance on finding love with Vance.

I felt the first few chapters were a bit repetitive with Bellamy’s career, and choice to stay single. Otherwise, this story was beautiful, captivating, and a HEA.

A sweet love story:
This was a simple, quick read yet still enjoyable. I love that each book in this series is unique in its own way and is a complete standalone.
Bellamy had closed herself off to love and it was wonderful watching as Vance gradually managed to work his way into her heart. That being said, I am afraid I found Bellamy rather annoying and Vance was a little too perfect. However if you are looking for something sweet and uncomplicated, then this is sure to suit.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions expressed are solely my own.

I think the one thing that I loved about this book is the meet cute. While it is under some really rough circumstances, everything about Bellamy and Vance was just fun and stunning. The whole constantly running into each other and seeing Bellamy fighting her attraction and feelings for Vance. There are a lot of ups and downs between them but I could not get enough of the organic way these two just build. With everything thrown at them and the little twists within the pages, I found myself devouring it from start to finish. I love the tie-ins as well with other series which made my heart even more happy! Honestly just need to read this feel good story!
