“ Winning the Mental Game will help you elevate every aspect of your life.” —Bruce Bowen, Three-Time NBA Champion Winning the Mental Game is a playbook that allows high performers to lay the foundation of mental performance needed to accomplish their biggest goals while finding deep satisfaction along the journey. From the Locker Room to the Board Room, delivering consistent performance excellence is one of the most desired yet elusive measures to attain. The human brain is an often untapped and unrealized source of energy, efficiency, and effectiveness that can help synergize people, purpose, and systems to achieve sustainable excellence. Performance coach Dr. Amber Selking reveals the powerful science behind her Championship Mindset Training program and recounts real-life stories of how her clients reached new heights of achievement. From implementation with the Notre Dame Football team to Fortune 500 companies to a nonprofit in South Africa, the mental plays within her program have provided training that has helped individuals and groups build a solid foundation from which they can chase their personal and professional goals with a sense of clarity and emotional stability. Sequential by intent and confirmed through years of application, Winning the Mental Game describes the eight foundational mental plays in this playbook, explaining how your brain works, how it impacts performance, and how you can find your next layer of greatness. It will provide specific Championship Mindset Training that will allow you to navigate the demands of high performance and everyday life itself, and build your own Championship Mindset.
Winning the Mental Game is the playbook for building a championship mindset by Dr. Amber Selking, who has devoted her career to helping optimize people's performance. The ideas behind this book are simple, and I would say it’s relatively achievable for all people. At the same time, readers can access videos through QR codes and different exercises throughout the book. Starting from understanding brain science, the book illustrates eight plays of mindset training with organized details. Having a background with professional football teams, Dr. Selking uses real-life examples to start each play and illustrate how every step matters in order to build a successful mindset. It’s possible to become the best version of our best selves, and it all starts with understanding and recognizing.
I enjoy reading more than I expected, and the content is well organized for everyone, including the videos from the QR codes. This book is a playbook, but it’s also informative and well-written. I appreciate that chapters are well connected with a practice sheet at the end of each chapter. Overall, I would recommend this book to readers that are looking for self-improvement in a systematic way – this is the book for you and all you need to do is just follow the steps and keep practicing.
