Another trip to Linden Falls and the Wishing Tree!
This time, Author Tammy. L. Grace is showing the way with a story about Norma Braxton, the school's librarian with a secret.
A secret that's about to come tumbling out with the surprise visit from a face from her past.
Norma is so scared that the impact of the knowledge about an event that occurred when she was much younger will tarnish her relationships and respect that she hides from someone who really doesn't want her to disappear.
What a sweet conclusion to a story that could have had a much harsher ending, if her thoughts were true.
I enjoyed this next visit to Linden Falls, and fall a little more in love with the whole community whenever I read another book!

I loved writing Norma's story. She's one of my Winey Widows that first appeared in my Glass Beach Cottage Trilogy, but I thought she deserved her own story in the quaint little town of Linden Falls. She's a strong woman, who has to confront the past...the past she thought was long ago wrapped up and stuffed away.

I've been involved in organizing a community-wide reunion in my hometown for years and loved weaving that into this story. I enjoy older heroines and with Norma being around 70, I really enjoyed writing her interactions with her friends, including Neva, who is the owner of The Wishing Tree Inn. I hope you're reading the series and enjoying it as much as I am.

I've got a giveaway going on to celebrate my new release and would love for you to enter it! https://kingsumo.com/g/vdfz6l/overdue...

Overdue Wishes by Tammy L. Grace was simply amazing. I can’t tell you how much I love The Wishing Tree Series and this is book number ten. I am hoping with all of the authors involved it goes on for quite a while. I am going to cry when the end of this series comes along.

Speaking of crying, I cried off and on the last fifteen percent or so of this book. Now, I can’t tell you why I cried because that would ruin it for you and I am not about to do that! You get to have those great big tears and that ugly cry just like I did! Let’s just say my heart was full and I was content at the very end of this book.

Overdue Wished is about Norma. She is a long standing citizen of Linden Falls. She lost her husband several years ago and has come to terms with being on her own. She keeps herself in good health and keeps up her fitness by walking every morning. She is pretty involved with the community and if you will remember she was the high school Librarian for many years. She loves to read just like some of us! Many things about Norma hit home for me. Norma thinks of herself as a plain Jane sort of person. That’s me. I don’t dress up unless it is required. I don’t dye my hair anymore and I don’t wear makeup. I lost my husband and was single for many years. So, you see we have a lot in common and I like Norma!

Everytime I read a book from the Wishing Tree Series, I feel like I’m back at home for a little visit. I lived in a town during my high school years and my first marriage that was a lot like Linden Falls. It was bigger but, it had older homes in the downtown area that had been there for years. Wood siding and nothing fancy. We had the old mansions too but, they were few and far between. I knew the owners of many of the businesses and grew up with their kids. Downtown was a couple of blocks long and grew little in the 28 years I lived there. I still call it home. My own Linden Falls.

If you like good clean stories of people older than 40 or so and like to revisit them, then this series might be right up your alley. Tammy L. Grace is for me, one of those authors that I read unconditionally. I only have to hear she is coming out with a new book or series and I’m ready to read it. I don’t have to know what it is about. In fact, I would rather not know and just jump right in. Are you like that? If you haven’t started the Wishing Tree Series yet, what are you waiting for? The first book is free to download. Jump right in and enjoy the fun. Until next time…Happy Reading!

Don’t forget to support the authors you read by leaving them a review!

BACK TO THE FUTURE!

I always enjoy reading the new installment of The Wishing Tree Series. A group of accomplished authors have come together to create the wonderful town of Linden Falls and each of these authors has created unforgettable characters and written heartwartwarming stories. Visiting the town of Linden Falls is always a lovely escape from real-world issues.

Author Tammy L. Grace has written Overdue Wishes, with a plot that involves taking a retired high school librarian, Nora Braxton, back to the future. Braxton is busy planning the All-Class Reunion in Linden Falls when a man from her past appears. He is not just any man, but a man with whom she shares a history, mystery, and secret, and one she plans to avoid at all costs! Her mystery man is persistent and manages to work his way back into Nora’s life and introduce her to life and love that is long overdue. Nora realizes that the only way she can go forward with her life and fulfill her dreams is by going back to the future with an old friend and discovering all that may be new between them. This is a sweet love story and I highly recommend it!

I was provided a copy of this book by the author and Lone Mountain Press. The opinions expressed here are completely my own and without influence.

Isn't it tragic when we hold ourselves back due to events in our past that we can't let go? Overdue Wishes, book #10 in the Wishing Tree Series, explores that subject with Norma, who allows an incident in her youth to impact her entire adult life. Until Chet enters the picture! Can Norma dare dream of a second chance at all the joys of life? What wishes will the Wishing Tree grant? This is a great read with an uplifting message. Thank you to the author for this advanced review copy. This review is my unbiased opinion.

This is book 10 in this fabulous series. I read it in one sitting, because I could not put it down. This book centers around Norma, a librarian, who is quiet and doesn't like to bring attention to herself. She has lived alone since her husband, Bob, passed away several years ago. By coincidence, a high school friend from 50 years ago, comes to Linden Falls and thinks he recognizes Norma from all those years ago. She immediately recognizes him and tries to avoid him at all costs, for fear of him exposing her secret she's kept hidden all these years. Her husband Bob never even knew this secret she kept hidden from the world. Can she avoid Chet or will her secret unravel everything she's tried so hard to bury? This is a must read that you won't want to put down!

LOVE NORMA AND CHET'S STORY

Another great book by Tammy L Grace. Of all the books that I have read by Tammy she never disappoints. Her stories are so down to earth and wherever the story takes place you want to live there. I have really enjoyed reading all the books in this series.

My second favorite in the Wishing Tree series so far.
The All Class reunion is a huge hit.
When Chet shows up, Norma just wants to hide.
They finally meet and talk everything out.
How do 2 retirees find time together?

Norma has been the town librarian in Linden Falls since college. She escaped her hometown and has a secret that she hides because she feels guilty. Chet comes to town to play in a band at an event and runs across Norma. She tries to avoid him, but Chet is persistent. Both are now widowed. Will the chance meeting make Norma see things better and give them both another chance? The Wishing Tree may grant them both their wishes. This is a great addition to the Wishing Tree series and Tammy Grace has done it again, providing so much depth to her characters.

I loved Norma’s story. Norma has been “hiding in plain sight” from something that happened in her home town right before she left for college. Thinking she had done an unforgivable thing, Norma moved to Linden Falls, as a librarian, and never told anyone about the incident. Chet, from her home town, suddenly shows up and Norma is afraid her secret will be revealed.
Tammy Grace writes such lovely characters that I always want to know. I am so pleased when we get a glimpse of characters from her other series. This is an easy to read, hard to put down romantic read. I love the hint of magic in all of these books.
Highly recommend

I read this book as an ARC and wish to thank Tammy Grace and the publisher for the opportunity. The ideas in this review are strictly my own.

Another sweet story in the Wishing Tree series. Norma is startled to see a face from her past at a town celebration. Having served as a school librarian, Norma has been content to stay in the shadows. At first she resisted contact, but finally became convinced the past wasn’t what it seemed. A chance encounter with Chet changes her thoughts of the past. With her mind at ease, she opened herself to changes and a new friendship.

Norma learned to let go of the past. Chet looks forward to changes in life. Maybe the Wishing Tree has the power to grant a few more wishes.

What will the future bring the couple? Can the realize a dream of spending time in Florida.

Thank you to the author for this ARC. This review is my honest opinion.

Overdue Wishes, book #10 in the Wishing Tree Series, is another great installment in this collection of charming stories set in Linden Falls, home of the Wishing Tree and so many likeable characters.
In this story, we're reminded how misunderstandings, fear, and regret can keep us from living life to the fullest.
A chance meeting many years after a tragic event changes everything. Friendship is rekindled. Will this lead to a second chance for love and happiness?
Don't miss this enjoyable read!

Sometimes, in our own minds, we read something into a situation that never really existed. Such was the case with Norma. It's tragic really that she allowed an accident that happened in high school to control her future and alienate her from her family and friends. She made a good life with her husband and after he passed away, she continued on, but she never really LIVED. She went through the motions, never wanting to be the center of attention and basically maintaining a quiet, nondescript life - until Chet came to town. Chet was the other half of that tragic accident. She always felt she ruined his future - cost him his scholarship. He must hate her. Could she just hide until he left town? Surely, he wouldn't recognize her after 50 years. None of her friends knew her tragic past and she wanted to keep it that way. Chet had other ideas. He knew it was "his" Norma. Such an uplifting plot and Oh, My - so romantic. Well done Tammy Grace!

Overdue Wishes by Tammy L. Grace is the tenth book in The Wishing Tree series. Norma Braxton is a born organizer. A member of the Winey Widows and a retired high school librarian, she keeps busy with local events. As she helps organize the All-Class Reunion in Linden Falls, she comes face-to-face with a man from her past, a man she never expected to be in Linden Falls. She panics as he knows her secrets and tries to pretend that he’s mistaken when he recognizes her. Fearful he could reveal her secret and upend the life she has built but he’s persistent. Chet is committed to learn more about the woman he recognizes as the young girl he used to know. His appearance in town has awakened something in Norma’s heart. Does she dare hope that her overdue wish could come true?
Linden Falls is a town where wishes come true. Sometimes they are granted right away and some take years. Long after the individual has long given up. Overdue Wishes is a sweet story of undue guilt, forgiveness and second chances at love. Norma hides a secret that even her dear late husband didn’t know. I enjoyed Norma and her dedication to her adopted home. I loved Chet’s loving forgiveness toward Norma as he convinces her that he has held nothing against her and his sweet pursuit of her. There was one moment I held my breath as I waited for the outcome. Surely Norma and Chet’s story wouldn’t end like that? Overall, I enjoyed this trip to Linden Falls and witness Norma and Chet’s love story blossom. I highly recommend Overdue Wishes as well as all the books in The Wishing Tree series.

I know, I know...in this series each story finishes "too neat;" however, it's just what I have yearned for over these tumultuous times. The "My Book Friends" authors have been fun, and write from the heart. I appreciate how many of the Linden Falls folks have been given their own stories, rounding out the community, and warming up their place in this cozy-little Vermont town.

Norma, a member of the Winey Widows, is a retired librarian that all the kids and townspeople of Linder Falls know. Like the retired teacher, and bookseller I was, I connected immediately to her, "greatest satifcation (coming) from introducing students who didn't share her love of reading to a book she knew would be perfect for them...She was a book whisperer long before the phrase had been coined" (page 16). And, I "giggled" over a relatable line, "...you have to make your idea seem like their idea and then everything goes much smoother" (95).

How I connected to Norma's thoughts about, "knowing how things worked out in the story came with the despair of it ending" (100). How many times I wished a book would not end, because I relished in the characters-they became my friends!!

Norma threw herself into her books and the library, especially as a widow, for there was little else in her life. She'd left a past that no one knew of, and she wanted it that way. And suddenly, her past came in the way of a visitor to Linden Falls, and it all unraveled.

Neva and Henry, Paige, and Vera became special parts to her story, along with, of course, the Wishing Tree....

Tammy L. Grace has written another heartwarming story in a multi author collaborative series. Her most recent contribution is Overdue Wishes which is the 10th book in The Wishing Tree series. We first met Norma Braxton as one of the Winey Widows in Ms. Grace’s novel Moonlight Beach, part of her Glass Beach Cottage series this is Norma’s story.

In Overdue Wishes we learn that Norma ran away from her past to the small town of Linden Falls. She left her family, friends and life behind to make a new beginning for herself and put her past and her secrets behind her. Norma retired from the Linden Falls High School as their long-term librarian. She has lots of friends and loved the children she watched grow up and have families of their own, but was she truly happy? She would say she was happy when her husband was alive, but after his passing, now she isn’t so sure if she is happy or just comfortable.

After running into Chet, a man from her own high school years, she is no longer able to hide from her past. Norma now realizes she is going to have to face her past and starts assessing her current life, which she describes as “beige.” Maybe it’s time for some “color” in her life??

Norma ties a wish of her own to the famous Wishing Tree. Does she deserve a second chance at happiness? You’ll have to read to find out if it is time for her Overdue Wishes to come true!

This is the 10th book in the Wishing Tree series written by several authors. This story was written by Tammy L. Grace. It’s the story of Norma Braxton, a widow and retired high school librarian. She has a secret from her past that no one in Linden Falls knows about. She is working an all class reunion for Linden Falls, when she sees Chet Nelson, a man from her past life in Stockbridge. She hoped to never run into him because he knows her secret very well. He pursues her and helps her resolve the issues she has over the past. It’s a touching story of forgiveness, second chances and new love. I love reading these stories of a charming town with wonderful, caring citizens. These stories are heartwarming.

What a delightful series! I have immensely enjoyed the entire series and been introduced to many authors that are new to me as well as a few time honored, familiar authors. I almost wish this was a real village in Vermont that I could visit! It is close to my area of NY. Lol.
Book 10 of this series finds Nora and an old flame from high school thrown together in a chance meeting nearly 50 years after parting. Each ties a wish to the branches of the Wishing Tree and find that wishes can come true. This book is well written with characters that you can easily connect with.

Love conquers All!!

Overdue Wishes by TammyGrace brought tears of joy to my eyes this Wishing Tree edition . The journey that Norma Braxton has taken from planning an All Class Reunion in LindenFalls Vermont while carefully guarding a secret from her past ,is shattered when that secret comes to town and recognizes Norma ! Chet knows it’s the girl from long ago . Why is she avoiding him .? She persists she doesn’t know him and Chet insists she does . They are both older now and widowed . This story is well worth the read !!!

Norma is comfortable with her quiet life in Linden Falls, until a chance meeting with someone from her past. Chet is in town playing in a band and immediately recognizes Norma. One big issue, Norma hasn’t revealed a secret from her past! With the help of her friends will Norma take a chance and allow Chet back into her life?
Another wonderful Wishing Tree story, fast paced, great characters and cozy feelings.

A visit back to Linden Falls

This one is #10 in The Wishing Tree Series. It's always lovely to travel back and check in with the lovely folks in Linden Falls. In this one we meet Norma, the lovely and somewhat lonely librarian. She certainly has a story to tell... And maybe a new fella??? One never knows what will happen when Neva and her wonderful tree get involved

Perfect “it’s never too late” story

Great read! Perfect quick love story read that focuses on it never being too late to find love. I love the older characters in her books and the mature story lines. I smiled many times and thought this would be the most perfect Hallmark movie. Love this series, have read every book and can’t wait for more.
