this authors writing style is not for me. It was very cheesy and unbelievable and an exaggerated manner of each person. They are each truly a character rather than a 3D person in your head. I was disappointed.
I'd say 3.5 stars for this. Cute and a short story yet needs edits
This was a cute little story with some good spicier scenes in it. It was also quite a short read yet had details of each character. The reason for 3.5 stars is that there are Grammer and spelling issues throughout the story and some areas were rushed. I would like to see this more flushed out if given the opportunity in another book.
I saw the author's promotional tiktok about this book and immediately got it. I love this non-magical retelling of the Wizard if Oz, and that it was about Ruby more than her suitors. There a couple spicy scenes, but it's maybe one pepper. It's romantic tho.
Super quick read. The characters are fun. The story is fast paced and enjoyable. This would be a perfect lazy afternoon on the beach or by the pool book.
Author does not know how tornadoes work. Lots of issues, and I only made it to the start of the second chapter before I just could not anymore. Boring, author does not give details or context, inconsistent characterization, people are cartoonishly-over-the-top mean, author does not know how or when to use commas, overflowing with typos (punctuation aside, words are missing every couple lines and tenses change mid-sentence—I’m not sure why my breaking point was that the author didn’t know to capitalize “RV” but that’s where I gave up), and we’re told the MC hits the “last straw” point a few times but there’s no emotion leading up to it and no fallout after. It’s like the MC is exactly as invested in her story as I am (spoiler alert, it’s none%).
