French author who collaborated with his countryman, Pierre Ayraud (aka Thomas Narcejac), to write crime fiction as Boileau-Narcejac.

In 1938 he was awarded on of the most important literary awards in France the Prix du Roman d'Aventures, for Le Repos de Bacchus . It is given to the author of the best example of detective fiction in the world each year.

He met Narcejac in 1948 at the awards dinner when Narcejac received the same award for one of his novels.

داستان این کتاب با یک قرار ملاقات با یک دانشجوی روس در ماه گرم مه 1968 آغاز می شود و مقطع شروع آن، شورش جوانان و دانشجویان در شهر پاریس است. خیابان های پاریس، به ویژه در اطراف دانشگاه سوربن، صحنه زد و خورد است و جوانان معترض در پشت سنگربندی های متعدد با پلیس ضدشورش درگیر شده اند. لامیرو دانشجوی پزشکی، در این گیرودار با تامارا، دختری روس تبار که مدعی است حقوق می خواند، آشنا می شود و او را که مضروب شده، از مهلکه نجات می دهد. این آشنایی و سپس دلبستگی، به پیوستن لامیرو به تشکیلاتی مخفی می انجامد. چون تامارا در ابتدای کار خود را با اسمی جعلی معرفی کرده است و در واقع جاسوس کا.گ.ب است...
