She quit her job as a courier but is forced to take one last trip. He’s a master of disguise assigned to protect her. The fine art of Deception may be their common ground.
Queisha Jones quit her job as a courier for a spy organization that’s quietly operated out of Mama’s Travel Agency. She’s drawn back into the fold when they need her to retrieve secret documents leading to the whereabouts of her missing brother. The request seemed simple enough until she was informed that she needed to travel with a bodyguard. He turned out to be the new guy at work, a seemingly un-appealing man who always smelled like bubble gum and sweat. She was dead set against him following her but there was no time to make a change.
Carl Cove, assassin, and thief, has a disguise for every occasion. No one is allowed to know his true identity. Then he’s assigned to protect Queisha. His follow her, collect the information she finds and use it to root out a mole in the organization. As planned, every time she sees him, he is in one of his disguises. After their first brief encounter, all his training flies out the window and he wants to know more about Queisha Jones. He changes the rules and becomes her bodyguard, while still in disguise of course. Everything goes as planned until they are attacked, and he is forced to train her in the art of deception. One way or another she will get to know the real Carl Cove. Both their lives will depend on it.
Queisha and Carl were truly a pair. This was a good read and so funny. Full of intrigue, fun action, travel to wonderful places, and the disguises of a lifetime. I would never have suspected Queisha in this type of work when I was introduced to her in Angela and Amir's story. But I truly like her attitude and determination. As for Carl, he was a true man of many talents and faces. I enjoyed these two, and Mama J was pretty cool. I wanted to see how Queisha explained Kiss from Carl Covel, the office guy, to Shalonda. I'm also glad Carl didn't have to kill Malcolm (Demon), and Malcolm was a good guy. I was thinking, hum, Malcolm and Carissa's attitudes towards each other could lead to the next interesting story.😏 Enjoyable reading.
It was cute and enough to keep me captivated of course I tried to read it in one sitting started it yesterday. I love to travel and with an amount of intrigue but this was just what I needed to level out my weekend. I couldn’t even imagine meeting someone like Carl today who could charm my socks off without touching me was a personal reminder of being a widow and being single today 🌹
Exciting and funny. Trying to follow the plot was fun….with an unexpected ending! I really enjoyed this book. Looking forward to reading other books by this author.
