‘Cinderella’s way to the light is our path from hardship to self-realization’
Israeli author Orit Atias earned her master’s degrees in Education form Tel Aviv University and in Gender Studies for Bar Ilan University and is a recognized lecturer on development and empowerment for professional and personal audiences. In addition she is a personal life coach. Now she shares her advice in this, her debut publication THE CINDERELLA EFFECT. The book was translated from the Hebrew by Galia Sivan.
In her Introductory comments, the author states, ‘Who among us hasn’t fantasized, at least once, of being a Cinderella? About making all of our heart’s desires magically come true? What is the secret to everlasting happiness? Which path to take to reach the light within us? How can we overcome difficulties and suffering to create a reality of self–fulfillment for ourselves? As children, we all grew up on Cinderella’s story and learned how to make wishes come true…As we grew older, we realized the Cinderella’s story teaches us that, in order to fulfill our wishes and help the magic along, several traits, in addition to hard work, are needed: forging an identity of self and meaning, a strong character, and loyalty to ourselves and our friends….that something that is missing – happiness, self-realization, fulfillment.’
Using a very positive technique of basing her instructions for discovering potential and gaining success – the fairy tale of Cinderella – makes her sound and sensitive advice immediately accessible. She takes us through the phases exemplified in the Cinderella story – she suffers, decides to act, is afraid, dances with the fear, learns to love and forgive, finds the light with in her and fulfills her wishes – and expands on each of these steps to discuss the methods and mind changes – and results – of doing it ourselves! At book’s end, she offers lectures on self-development – very intelligent and inspiring and readily adaptable.
This is a very clever way to present practical and well-considered advice for gaining control of our lives and working a way toward success and happiness.
