Jade Pearson Mystery Series Box Set One: A Fast-Paced Crime Thriller
◆ Book 1 FATAL STANCE
When Private investigator Jade Pearson gets a call from her friend at the Camden PD that an unidentified dead body has been washed to the shore, she knows it is going to be a long day. There's no identification on the body and her first job is to figure out who this person is.
The man dressed in a fancy business suit looks more like a businessman than a tourist who mostly visits the area. But, who would want to kill an out-of-town businessman?
Will Jade be able to get to the bottom of this case and identify the killer? It is not her first rodeo, but someone has been making anonymous calls threatening her to get off the case and almost drove into her tiny car.
◆ Book 2 FATAL CONCEIT
It's a big day for a small town, a hundred-year-old time capsule is being opened.
The time capsule goes missing just one day before the big event, and Jade is asked to help with the case. But, who would want to steal a time capsule that doesn't have much material value?
The only person who might have any answers is the janitor at the museum, who claims to have some information. But when the janitor suddenly dies in front of Jade's eyes leaving more questions than answers before she could talk to him, she knows there's a lot more at stake than what meets the eye.
What could be the cause of a young and healthy man's sudden death?
The big question is what secrets are buried in the time capsule. Who is trying to guard those secrets 100 years later to go as far as killing someone?
Making matters worse is a threatening note that is left on the windshield of Jade's car asking her to stay away from the case. Will Jade be able to find out who the culprit is and who murdered the janitor while keeping herself out of the trouble?

Her friend Edna at Camden PD wants Private Investigator Jade Pearson to look into a case of an old man who apparently committed suicide by hanging himself. Police think it is suicide but Edna's gut feeling tells her something is off and she can't quite figure it out. She requests Jade to investigate.
The old man was always calling cops on neighbors and the teenagers who lived next door for being loud. His estranged daughter wasn't too fond of the old man either.
But, who would want to kill an old widower who lived alone and could barely take care of himself?
◆ Book 4 FATAL DECEPTION
A plumber is found dead in the mansion of a wealthy and prominent citizen.
The maid claims that when she came the man had gone on a rampage and messed up the whole floor. she thought he was an intruder and killed him in self-defense.
Homeowner trusted the plumber and she had known him for years.
Jade suspects that there is more than what meets the eye. It's up to her to get to the bottom of it and uncover the truth.

A dead person with a bullet wound to his head is found on Camden's pier. The rainstorm has washed away any possible evidence. Jade must use any remaining clues to find out who the victim is and who killed him.
The victim had a Reines du Feu or the Queens of Fire tattoo on his ankle. Jade is convinced it has to do something with the gang that has been threatening her while she worked the last four cases.
She is still getting threats to stay away from it all, but Jade is not the one to be scared away easily.

Great little mining series!
Good clean read for anyone. Five short stories that end in one major case being solved. Jade works for the police on cases they find challenging. While they seem a bit inept Jade is always in a rush to solve the case. She fails to look at the danger she puts herself in and constantly needs her friend, the head detective to bail her out. It's a good thing she isn't a cat because she's using up her allotment of lives quickly.

A good read
This set of the first five Jade Pearson books starts off with murders and mysteries galore. She is a P.I. who consults with the police department, thanks to her friend Edna who has the Chief's ear. Jade's boyfriend, Mark, the local coroner is always there to support her. The characters have been created with great care and work well. I liked how the characters are three dimensional and realistic.

January 21, 2022While I have read each book with space in-between stories, this series of books is most enjoyable to be read 1 book after the other. I felt like I had a whole book by the time I was done. This author keeps you entertained and questioning who did it with the whole series. I received an ARC copy of these short stories and this is my honest review.

Breathless Suspense
Jade is brilliant as a private investigator and fearless in her pursuit of criminals; she does,however, put herself in dangerous situations. It helps that her good friend ends is a police detective and her boyfriend is the coroner. They put their heads together to solve difficult cases. You will hold your breath in suspense in each vase.

Jade Pearson Mystery Series - Box Set from Nora Kane is another exciting well written series. Jade is a very special person who does not give up until a case is solved. The series is captivating until the end and Jade continues to amaze you.

Loved this boxset. The stories are well-written and easy to follow even though Jade has her work cut out for her to solve the cases. The character dynamic is great with surprises throughout. Thanks for the great reads Nora!
