She's always been the threat
Lulu Usari has known since she was different since she was a child. The daughter of a forbidden union, her magic has been locked away in a cage to protect herself - and the world - for as long as she can remember. It's only been used once, and the fallout was catastrophic.

He's always been her lifeline
Dimitri Dashkov is the heir of the Narodnaya Pack, descendants of the very first wolf shifters that ever roamed the earth. His duty is to his pack, but he's never been able to ignore the girl who saved his life years ago and ruined her own in the process.

They're written in the stars
When the world around them descends into chaos, it becomes clear that Lulu's abilities might be the only thing that can save them. But there's a fine line between wielding power and unleashing power, and Dimitri might be the only person who can help her find the balance... before their whole world goes up in flames.

Requiem is the final, epic conclusion to the bestselling Blackwater Pack series.

Absolutely LOVED Requiem. Finally seeing behind the jokes and jabs, the real story and truth of Dimitri and Lulu. Can’t wait for Dynasty!

Blackwater Pack series is one of my all time favorite series. We’ve been waiting a while for Lulu and Dimitri’s story and we’ve finally received the beginning! Yes, this is basically a novella size story that overlaps a bit with the previous book. It’s a great set up to what I think is gonna be really intense and great story for Lulu and Dimitri. In this book, we get a better look at the night that truly defined Lulu and Dimitri and back to present day where things are hitting a whole new level of critical on the threats that are coming their way and on Lulu and Dimitri’s relationship. Dimitri for one knows that the time has come to acknowledge this chemistry and connection between them. They can’t run from this any longer. But as we know from last book Lulu has been struggling a lot when it comes to her magic. And getting in her head, we get a better sense of her magic. She has never been able to truly understand and control the spirit magic in her and the fact that her coven threw her away over ten years ago and still are looking for a way to basically get rid of her, how can anyone expect her to know how to truly understand her magic? And then her connection to Dimitri? It’s overpowering and she has been trying so hard to fight it because of what her magic has done but she’ll have to face this connection soon. The story ends with me itching to get the rest! But I was reminded how much I love this world and these characters and I can’t wait to see where Lulu and Dimitri go from here!

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Before I begin, I would like to thank Hannah McBride, and her team, for sending me an arc of Requiem, in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I love this series.

I loved this book for the most part.

Every time Hannah releases a new Blackwater Pack book, I get excited to be immersed into that world, and these characters, once again. Dimitri and Lu's story has intrigued me since they were first introduced, so I love that we are finally getting their story.

I really, really enjoyed it. I felt like Hannah treated Lu's storyline with respect, considering the uniqueness of it. It would be so hard to not only be looked down upon by your family and peers, but cast out. Harder to accept the love and kindness of others, when the people who are supposed to love you no matter what, don't.

It's an interesting arc for a very powerful woman, and I love that.

The tension between Dimitri and Lu is powerful, the chemistry is felt through the pages. It was another excellent addition to the Blackwater Pack series.

My only complaint is that it was too short. Easily read in a couple of hours. When she announced that she was loving their story, and decided to break the story up as originally planned, I assumed that meant that her word count was high, so it would be better to split into two. Most likely, she didn't want to disappoint readers by delaying the book again. Which is fine, but I just don't love that it is being split up when there is so little story here.

Despite my disappoint in it's length, and that I feel like more meat could have been added to the story, I do love where it's going. If you loved the other books in the Blackwater Pack, you will enjoy Requiem.

Please read the trigger warnings at the end of Hannah’s Author’s Note before you start.

Hannah introduced us to Dimitri and Lulu in Scars. If you have not read Scars, please do so before reading the beginning of their story. It is not a MUST that you read Scars first, but it will make a lot more sense if you do.

Requiem starts ten years prior and the first meeting of Lulu and Dimitri.

Natasha, Nikolai, Addie, Skye and Remy are also heavily involved in Lulu and Dimitri’s story. We also meet Yetta Usari, Lulu’s mother - ahem and the coven Lulu was born into.

Without going into a lot of details Lulu is struggling with how she feels about Dimitri PERIOD.

Dynasty will be the conclusion to the Blackwater Pack.

My favorite quotes:

“Me,” he cut in sharply, standing up. “You have me. No matter what happens, you will always have me.”

“But you couldn’t erase a lifetime of crappy parenting and abandonment with a few lunches and presents.”

“Without letting myself overthink it, I rolled to my other side and buried my face in Dimitri’s silky black fur.”

“I’d bound Dimitri to myself when we were children, and that wasn’t something I could ever undo. He and I were linked together for the rest of our lives.”

First let me start with if you haven't read the other books before this, you really need to. I got this book as an ARC and this was my first Blackwater Pack book. I was at a lose, it's a great book well written but it stinks to come into a play in the third act 🎬.  So I went back and read the synopsis for each previous book and reviews of the books. It helped some but I feel like I'm still play catch up. So after this I will go and read all the previous books 📚 because I know there is so much at play here I need to figure out before that last book drops later this year. I did love Dimitri and LuLu characters. There are zero hot scenes in this book. So if your looking for hot romance you're not finding it here. I have read Hannah omega verse books and loved them, and I really liked this book as well. It does get you to thinking and your definitely invest in what's going on and who all is involved.  So if you read the others then dig in because this is a great book, if you haven't then don't sale yourself short of the opportunity to know what's going on and who all the players in the game are. Happy Reading 📚 😊

If Hannah's goal was to make this book into some kind of good torture, congratulations girl, you did it. Requiem is what I consider a prequel for Dimitri's and Lucia's story. It does the bridge between the ending of Scars and the new conflict for Dynasty. I say its toruture because it leaves us absolutely wanting more! Like I neeeed to know what is going to happen!!!!! Hannah is always a master of playing with our feels and once again she does it brilliantly. The pieces for the new plots are planted alongside what we already knew from the previous books. Now I did feel like this was more of a short story/ prequel then a book 1 for Dima and Lulu. I would have prefered to have these 130 pages with the rest of the story in Dynasty but I understand that maybe then it would have been a massive book and while I don't mind that a lot of people get anxious with books over 500/600 pages or so. So I get the decision to separate into two. But now I cannot wait for the next one! They deserve their happy ending. And its about time Dimitri goes after his girl! Go Dima!

Oh my goodness, I have been looking forward to reading Lulu and Dimitri’s story and now it’s finally here. This is part one of a duet and it gives a lot of the backstory, which is needed so you can understand their characters and decision making.
After reading this my heart goes out to Lulu and the circumstances she finds herself in. She is a fully-formed character that you know from the previous books, but unless you read this book, you will never get to know the real Lulu, her hardships, beliefs, wants and self doubt or Dimitri with his deflection techniques which hides the real him.
This is a well-written story, which is cleverly interwoven with the previous books in this series, but never feels repetitive.
Every book in this series has been amazing and this book is no different. This is truly a 5 star read.

I received an ARC of this book and I just love this series! It all started with my first ever shifter romance and now here we are many books later and I still can’t get enough! I was thinking this was going to be the last one but I was happily surprised that there is still one more, though that cliffhanger wasn’t as happy feeling lol. Only because I want the next book PRONTO! I really enjoy the dynamic between witch and wolf, LuLu and Dima, past and present, good versus evil, blood ties versus found family. The connections, the glimpses of other characters we love in this world, how things all tie together, and the mystery between LuLus magic and the bond that we still don’t quite know what it means all keeps you invested and compelled. I can’t wait to see where this specific story goes next and how all will tie up in the series!

I received this free eARC novel from the author. This is my honest review.

I loved coming back into this world and getting Dimitri and Lulu's story! Lulu had been through so much emotional turmoil her whole life. Having Dimitri in it has made things bearable but also excruciatingly hard for her after what they both went through as kids.

I love how protective Dimitri is of Lulu. And how he's always there for her, even when she doesn't want him there, but still needs him.

And Lulu's magic is getting the best of her, but I'm sure in book 2 she will be able to control it with ease because she is capable of so much.

I'm so excited this novel has been released into the world and I can't wait for the next novel to conclude their story and see how things end!

Here I was thinking that Lulu and Dimitri’s story was only going to be one book. I’m so glad she’s turning into two books, and I can’t wait to read the second one! Thank you very much to Hannah and her team for the ARC copy.

In this, we get more behind-the-scenes of Dimitri and Lulu’s history and how they came to be where they are this portion of the story.

Lulu is such a unique individual in this world of wolves (and witches!) Even though it was a very quick read, it doesn’t lack in terms of the whirlwind feelings that Lulu is dealing with. We saw a glimpse of her struggles in Scars, but it’s here in Requiem we see it come to a head.

I’m not sure where it all will go in the next book, Dynasty, but I can’t wait to find out!

Overall a 4.5 rounded up for this one! I loved Lulu and Dima in the previous books and it's hard not too love them in this one. My only regret is re-reading Scars beforehand, because a good portion, if not most of the book, is Scars told from a different POV. We get to see behind the curtain at what was going on with Lulu, however I wish there was more. If you go into this one as though it is a novella you will enjoy it more, as it leaves you wanting and waiting for the next book. I love a good childhood friends to enemies to lovers and this one is it *chef's kiss*. I cannot wait for the next one!

This story explores the past and present of Lulu and Dimitri, revealing the deep bond and struggles they face. Lulu’s powerful, uncontrollable magic has been confined for years, but with danger approaching, she may be their only hope for survival. Dimitri, heir to the Narodnaya Pack, has always stood by her, but their connection is stronger and more complicated than ever. This novella provides a glimpse into their history, setting the stage for an intense conclusion. While I enjoyed revisiting these characters, the story felt like it should have been a full installment instead. Still, it left me eager for more. A must-read for Blackwater Pack fans.

★★★★

“She could be miles away, but a smile would still pull at my lips when I felt her happiness”

Requiem is a novella sized continuation of the Blackwater Pack series, which if you haven’t read I would highly recommend!

I’ve been waiting (and rooting) for Lulu and Dimitri’s story ever since we were first introduced to them both and Requiem provides a great starting point. It delves into the past explaining their shared connection and crosses over with the events of Scar from their perspective, really building up the tension for the final book!

I’m so excited for this witchy-wolf duo to get their HEA in Dynasty (with I’m sure a whole lot of drama)❤️‍🔥

It has been so great being able to return to the Blackwater Pack! Hannah's Sanctum was one of the first shifter romances I read that really got me hooked on the genre. I have adored Lulu and Dimitri since we met them in the earlier books and am so thrilled they're getting their own duology. Requiem was a fantastic start. I loved getting to learn more about these character's origins and backstory. Having their POV is so rewarding. I cannot wait for the conclusion.

Highly highly recommend to fans of the series and shifter romance.

The story so far is really good and I was so ready to be back into this world. Problem being it was SO short. I know she split it into 2 books instead of the single book she was planning but it was pretty unsatisfying where it did end. I would have rather had one long book that took longer to come out than this short tease. I almost gave it only 3 stars but bumped it to 4 because the writing is good, just the length left me disappointed.

Dimitri and Lulu

Requiem is the fifth book in the Blackwater Pack Books. I haven't read the other books in this series, but it didn't take away from the story.

This F/M shifter quick read that is about Dimitri and Lulu. They were childhood friends but certain events changed that. I like a good enemies to lovers storyline. Throw in magic and danger and you have an interesting read.

Now we have to wait and see if Lulu and Dimitri get their HEA.

I totally thought this was the full book, but just flagging this is a bridge book! Their full story will be released in 2026. I wish we got more on page of Lulu and Dmitri after she moves in with the pack. I think it would’ve helped set the stage. I was just a little bit confused instead why they couldn’t touch each other or why she felt physical pain when they touched. But I cannot wait for when we get their whole story! I already feel their chemistry popping off the page.

I always enjoyed reading about the Blackwater pack, even with all of the heart- wrenching drama that typically goes along with it. Lulu and Dmitri's story hit differently, though. I could feel her turmoil, her deep disappointment, her anxiety about herself. It was so sad, but thankfully this is a part 1. I will be waiting with baited breath for the last book in the series.

Finally a book about Dimitri and Lulu! While it is part one of their story, and book 5 of the overall Blackwater Pack, I didn’t do a reread of the others before jumping right in, and it was just fine! I’m very hopefully for the next book that they get their happily ever after because they’ve been through a lot emotionally individually and together.

I waited a long time for this

I started this series right after the first book came out. I’ve loved them ever since, this one was quite a bit shorter than the other ones but I’m so excited with the direction and depth of it. The plot the characters are very well written and interesting enough to keep me coming back for more

I just love the blackwater pack, and I just knew that this book would be just as amazing as all the rest. I was not disappointed. I feel for lulu, though you can feel her pain, and it's heartbreaking. That is all I'm gonna say, because I don't want to give anything away. It's not a long book but is incredible, and I can't wait for the next one. I need the rest of their story.

A prequel to the ending???

Took me like 2 hours to read this. Why not just give us the whole freaking story.
Guess I get to wait on the cliffhanger. No closure, no real plot, just more of the same we'd already known from the previous books with alot of the book explanation of what happend in the prior 4 books.

NOT a happy reader for this.

The entire Blackwater Pack series is fantastic. It has been a journey through the lives of some fascinating shifters and although there are many obstacles that they have faced each book builds on the strength of the better together mentality. I am looking forward to finishing the series and learning how Doma and Lulu's story will end.
