Marie ist jung, hübsch und fröhlich, sie studiert in Berlin und ist der ganze Stolz ihrer Mutter Ulla Binder. Die hat nach derWende Schwierigkeiten, mit den neuen Verhältnissen zurechtzukommen. Auch körperlich wirkt sich das aus und so soll sie nun in einem Sanatorium ihre Depressionen überwinden. Als ihre Tochter nach einem Besuch bei Ulla per Anhalter zurück nach Berlin fährt, wird sie Opfer einer Gewalttat. Dorothea Kleine is Senior Lecturer in Human Geography and Director of the interdisciplinary ICT4D Centre at Royal Holloway, University of London, where she also leads the Master’s Programme in Practising Sustainable Development. Further, Dorothea Kleine is a Faculty Associate at Harvard University's Berkman Center for Internet and Society.

Her key research interests are:
-Sustainable and just development futures in the global South (and North)
-Digital geographies and digital engaged geographical practice
-Information and communication technologies for development (ICT4D) as understood through the lens of the capabilities approach and sustainable development
