Courageous Camila is set in multicultural Los Angeles. Although Camila lives near many exciting things, it is only now that she begins to explore new activities that help her tap into her inner warrior. Camila also learns courage from the everyday people that surround her. Camila is encouraged by her Mama to begin taking martial arts classes. Although the sport is at first intimidating, together they ride the waves of excitement, fear, disappointment, until she finally taps into her "inner warrior" and ultimately finds her courage.
Naibe Reynoso is a Mexican-American, Emmy Award-winning journalist. In 2018, she founded Con Todo Press, a publishing company for books that amplify the voices of underrepresented communities. She has written several children's books, including Be Bold! Be Brave!: 11 Latinas Who Made U.S. History. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband, her daughter and son, and her dog, Pongo.
