John Willie's Bizarre

John Willie, real name John Alexander Scott, was born in 1902 into a wealthy British Merchant Banking family and he moved to New York in the early 1940s.

He founded the magazine 'Bizarre' in 1946 and this fine collection of drawings, photographs is just a small selection of his work.

'Bizarre' was a magazine founded by Englishman John Alexander Scott, alias John Willie, in 1946 after he had moved to New York. He published the first 20 issues before moving to Los Angeles in 1957 where his magazine for 'fetishes of every bent' flourished.

However, he was taken ill and had to abandon his business and when he died in 1962 he was penniless.

This is just a selection of his work which appeared between 1948 and 1959 and the 'bal masque' looks like a must for any broad minded individual!
