Another fun adventure for Darla that now included another food truck and a couple more employees. But it wouldn't be complete without murder, and this was one that pretty much everyone near the dock at the boat show had witnessed. Darla had gotten to know both families of the man who died and was coming up with her own theories.
I suspected someone all along and was right, but it was interesting to see when Darla would come up with the same person. The showdown was good, and I loved how Darla got help there in time.
It's hilarious how India still has that baby alligator named Josie that she walks around on a leash or puts in a purse like a little dog. Josie got to have a part in the showdown too! I just borrowed the next book on KU and can't wait to dig in.
5 star This picks up right where the other book leaves off, but if you haven’t read the other books it’s ok you won’t be lost. The author gives you enough background to know what is going on. (But if you have the opportunity to read in order you’ll want to get to know these crazy characters and townspeople) In this story you’ll have fun wondering who done it and how before the author complely reveals it. All the while reading about the antics of a mixed up family and a main character trying to “not” get in the mix of things. These stories don’t have sexual relationships or language so I can honestly recommend them to my preteen reading friends or anyone that would love a good clean fun mystery.
Darla is still getting used to the idea of having a sister and the food truck is settling down. Then she gets a call from Jeffries lawyer asking her to visit him in jail. When she gets there he tells her that he wants to sell her the fish and chips food truck as he need’s money for his legal bills and will end up in jail for a long time. She agreed to buy the truck and decides to keep it as a fish and chips truck to expand her offering. The first big event for the new truck is a boat show and halfway through the day a man is murdered. Darla dives in to help find the murderer and the mystery thickens. A really fun read.
Another murder, this time in plain sight at the harbour. The police get off on the wrong foot, and Darla and friends start looking into the clues. A nice mystery, and the pet alligator becomes \n unlikely hero - good read!
