Feisty Modesty Blair has wrecked shop from Chi-town to Mil-town. This broad is not playin' with her knuckle game. Her nickname should be Scrap-a-lot' from all the fights she's been in and 99% of them are over men! Yet, to hear her tell it, The birds bring the drama to me, is what she says. Figuring she can start off 'fresh and new' in another state, Modesty enrolls and gets accepted to Lane College in Jackson, TN believing that by furthering her education, she can escape all her drama. However, the hate continues and Modesty's beef with women only escalate. Modesty surely proves a known fact, you can take a woman out of the hood, but you can't take the hood out of them. Will pledging in a sorority help this young woman to mature and put behind her chaotic past? Hopefully.
The book wasn't bad, it just didn't hold my interest, I just read it to finish it. I was happy that Modesty matured by the end of the book and that she went through both high school and college and graduated. But most of the book was about her stealing, bad relationships, fights, or her having sex with people who had money
It was ok. The book description was a bit misleading. Most of the book was about shoplifting and various bad encounters with men. The book didn't get into pledging a sorority until about fifty pages before the ending.
I loved how real the plot was. quick read the 2nd book Vendetta diary of a kingpins daughter was better shows authors strengths from first novel to 2nd. Drama filled page turner!
