Mechs will clash and the fate of an entire species will be decided as Major Hugh Logan responds to the call of a former enemy turned ally.
Joining other human cores as part of Earth’s expeditionary force, Hugh must travel across the galaxy to help defend the Krixnas homeworld, but can their combined might stop the invasion and prevent an entire species from being consumed by the Ssath?
Hugh, along with his human and Krixnas allies will have to fight with everything they have—because if they don’t, Earth and the entire human race are next on the Ssath menu.
The 2nd book brings a lot more action as the training wheels are off and the ability to join forces brings some great upgrades, various scenarios and I like how we get to see more of how Hugh works. Definitely can't wait until we see the 3rd book as some of this brings back memories of the Posleen war and Bolo books.
OK, so I have my misgivings about this book it was written fine. However, the way the story was written and how the battles played out got not boring but just kinda ambivalent. I get the the attacking core is this Uber power house and blah blah but right from the get go the attacking core lose hundreds and hundreds of ships I.E thousands and thousands of build points then gets to the planet and the six cores separate and again each of the battles that the MC is part of there's hundreds and hundreds of enemy Mech yet the mc and other core after losses can't get new troops because of the way the "game" is set up yet every new battle the enemy core far out strips their numbers. The upgrade process is horrendously repetitive for no reason. I have thoroughly enjoyed the other books the author's put out they have made since and not been dull by any means, so this has been a let down probly won't check out the next book.
I’ve read all but the Car Core series. These stories have continued to build and improve. I think perhaps I like this one the most. The battle were well done and his commanders added elements of personality that I appreciated. Good addition to the series.
A great sequel to a fabulous story! The only complaint I have is that I wish the *bleep* were slightly better. Nothing much to say except that this is a great book, and I can’t wait for the next book!
