Forbidden Earl

Miss Verona is the woman Benjamin desires to wed, but when Verona finds out that Benjamin is from a rival family, will she turn down his advances?

This is a 90 minute read.

Verona is still grieving the loss of her brother and the only heir to her father’s sea salt dynasty. She watches as her father wages constant price battles with the earl who owns the coal mines necessary to heat the saltwater and turn it into sea salt.

Benjamin, the heir to the coal mines that Verona’s family depend on, was not allowed to be the soldier he dreamed of being. Instead, he was required to master every level of the family businesses. He is not interested in finding a bride but attends a ball one evening where he beholds Verona.

When the children of the embattled Earl and Baron meet, fate steps in, and both realize the answer to ending the feud between their families. But to be together, they must fight for the right to love the one they wish, despite the bitterness of old offenses that keep them apart.

A charming tale.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone I just spent a wonderful morning cooking pies and reading this charming tale. Verona and Benjamin are not really enemies but the families do business together and that is not always pleasant. Benjamin is a man who wanted one thing and ended up having to do something else so he is not the happiest of guys. Verona is a lady who feels a great responsibility to her family now that her brother has passed. You see both of these characters have a great deal in common. I liked the characters and I enjoyed the story. The challenges they faced made for an interesting read and I have no problem with recommending this book to friends and family. I am glad I downloaded the arc from Booksprout. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it

A Lovely Romance

Two people, both encouraged by their parents to marry, find not only each other, but opposition. I enjoyed the characters, especially the Scots, and loved how the author brought the story to its conclusion. A good read.
