Boot was once a toy robot, but it has come a long way since it was scrapped and woke back up with only two-and-a-half glitchy memories. When Boot catches sight of a robot pet it used to know - Mr Piggles - our hero and pals follow it to a beautiful green square in the city of skyscrapers. 

Here they find not just real nature, but also a haven for broken and rejected pets. They also meet the children who look after the pets, and for whom this green space is a sanctuary too. But Boot is distracted by its emotions, swinging from happy to sad ... maybe Boot is broken? Can it work out what is wrong, with the help of its friends? 

Illustrated throughout in glorious black and white by the award-winning Ben Mantle, this is an unforgettable tale of resilience and hope.

Het derde deel van de Bot serie en ik ben eindelijk weer bij met het lezen! Nu kan ik op het vierde boek wachten. In dit deel een mooi park, als enige over, vreemde robotwezens (van een octopus tot een dino), nieuwe karakters (Jorit en Melissa waren beide erg leuke karakters en ik ben blij dat de robots iemand vonden die ze kunnen vertrouwen, hopelijk komt dit duo nog vaker voor), een vervelende koffiedame die alleen maar aan geld denkt, Bot heeft een overflow aan emoties en weet niet wat hij ermee moest (wat leidde tot hilarische situaties maar ook nuttige zoals het internet). Het einde was erg spannend en ik hoopte maar dat het ze lukte om het park te redden!
Ik heb weer genoten en ik hoop dat deel 4 snel uitkomt!

Nog zo'n lief verhaal! Dit keer ging het over omgaan met overweldigende gevoelens en dat een beetje gebroken zijn niet betekent dat je minder waard bent. En dat allemaal onder het mom van het behouden van een stukje natuur en het ontmaskeren van hebzucht :)

Great book. Messages of appreciating nature, not letting screens rule your life or you might miss something. Talks about feelings and how important they are, that they do not make you "broken". Read this as a bed time book with my 5yo. Good kids read, cute story.
